Divas doing denim are everywhere lately, it seems! While it's a classic fabric by now, denim goes through phases of what's hot and the blues are the current rage. A wide range of pieces are trending, including some really fun and unusual shapes, such as Renee's denim romper or Brooke's workman-like overalls. Brie's pantsuit is a killer silhouette as well, especially styled with her famous boho flair. Shopbop has a fantastic assortment of really cool, special denim pieces right now, so head over there if you're looking to add a statement-maker to your wardrobe. You can also get the essence of the divas' looks with pieces that are already in your closet. I love the idea of recreating Brie's pantsuit by pairing a denim buttondown with bootcut jeans. Mix two different -but coordinating- denim blues, such a dark wash top and light wash bottoms. Carry the boho vibe with a tie belt in leather or suede. You can use a scarf as well: think bandana print or a frayed-edge solid in any earthy brown hue. Gladiator flats finish this look with casual cool. Alternatively, try embracing the 70's trend via denim by pairing a classic workshirt with wide leg flares. Again, choose two different washes to bring more visual interest. Finish the styling with structured shoes - think chunky-heeled sandals or platform ankle straps- and an earth-goddess-esque necklace (feathers, tassels, or a pile of dusty-hued beads). Or, you can do things Brooke's way and match your denim blush tones. I've imagined this done with an 80's flair, using skinny jeans and a denim tunic. Work the blush via your accents: rose gold earrings, a printed scarf or pale pink belt and soft pink pointy toes - flats or heels. On the flip side, neon pink was an 80's color du jour, so if you're into the brights, indulge in them! This look would work just was well with an intense color for shoes and/or scarf. For the latter, choose a multi-hued piece to look modern, not matchy. Are you dreaming in denim yet? :)

If you're a fan of diva-fierce, you know I've never made any secret of my love of yellow :). And ever since Taylor Swift appeared in the glorious mustard yellow gown in the Wildest Dreams video, my chief style ambition has been to acquire something similar. Kate Hudson's yellow dress in How To Lose A Guy in Ten Days put me into a similar frenzy lol. While I would (and do!) wear yellow any ol' time I get the chance, it seems to me that spring and summer are the most perfect times to try out this vibrant, glowing color. The Divas and Knockouts have given it a go on numerous occasions, with great success. Yellow carries a similar intensity to bright red, so it comes with similar tips and caveats: keep the accessories a bit minimal (one statement necklace, as opposed to a sea of crystal), neutrals or a single contrast color for pairings. A number of stores seem to carry yellow items in drab brown-tinged and greenish-leaning shades (looking at you, Free People), but I think those tones are difficult to wear. The cleaner, less dusty shades lend themselves to easier pairings.
Black and dresses seem to be the current theme for early March. We get o see a bit of fashion from Rosa, which is awesome because we haven't gotten nearly as much lately as I'd love to see :). This simple, black empire-waist dress is cute and classic. What I love best about it is that it's maternity-appropriate, without coming off like maternity-wear. It says "I can be pregnant and clasy too - at the same time!". She injects a bit of attitude by finishing the look with OTK boots, a pairing I love. Next up on the dress front is Eden, who reigned over tv in this metallic-accented bodycon dress. The combination of khaki with gold is gorgeous. She finished the look with nude almond-toed platform pumps for an all-neutral ensemble. Charlotte represents the black portion of our theme and gets serious props from me for this motorcycle-style capelet. It's a daring and unusual piece and I'm super jazzed that she went for this look! The plain black canvas below, of tank top and jeans, let the topper have all the focus, which was brilliant. I get so lit when ladies take style risks! Love it! Nikki delved into her new passion for tea while wearing this fit-and-flare dress, embellished with sheer insets that create a striped effect. This standout dress walks a wonderful line between stylishness and sexiness, pairing the modern, raw striping wth the flirty femininity of the sheer fabric. Nikki's polka dot shoes are one of my favorite aspects of the ensemble; they bring playfulness to the styling. Brooke's latest offering is an off-duty-model-worthy pairin of leggings with a tee and classic leather jacket. Her metallic pointy-toe pumps elevate this look to a fabulous casual cool. #HowItsDone101, Fiercettes!
Where I live, it is feeling very much like spring rn :) Yiippeee. I'm not sure how long we'll keep this gorgeous weather - we usually get a tease about this time of year and then go back to cooler temps or rain for another month. Consequently, I try to take advantage of the sun and warmth while I've got it. It's also a great time to give myself from a reprieve from winter looks and do something with bright, happy COLOR...and possibly some bare ankles ;). I looove Lana's classic white polo with its bold, black piping, but the polo is one of those pieces that lends itself flawlessly to color. Pretty much any shade you can imagine is out there somewhere; just pick your fave(s) :). Despite it's sporty beginnings (trivia: the polo shirt was actually designed by French tennis champion Rene Lacoste and used for tennis before being adopted by polo players), the polo has something of a prep connotation. I rebel at it's being relegated to a single genre; it's too wonderful a design - comfortable, sexy or demure (depending on many buttons you leave undone ;), a touch formal (that collared thing) and pulled-together all at once. Lana updated it by matching it with a sexy pencil skirt and killer heels. I've envisioned embracing the polo's tennis heritage by pairing it with a pleated A-line skirt. I love this combo of lilac and khaki; it's super fresh and just shouts "spring". For a casual look, finish it with coordinating sneakers. Or, dress it up by pairing it with a simple pair of ankle strap sandals. Toss a bomber jacket over your shoulders when the afternoon gets a bit chilly. I also love the idea of modernizing the polo by mixing it with of-the-moment wide-leg pants. The flowy, casual vibe contrasts with the focused propriety of the collared polo for just-threw-this-on cool. Play up a little stylish attitude by topping it with a motorcycle jacket (leather, denim or knit all work) or a classic jean jacket. This is a perfect look to complete with pointy toe flats (an almond toe is a solid alternative). But you could also have a little fun and let your fearless fashionista side loose by going with your most beloved, free diva, party-on-your-feet pair of multi-hued stilettos. I've been drooling over Sophia Webster's joyous offerings! (PS check out heels.com 's multi-colored selection if you're in need of a pair at a wallet-friendly price point). Happy (Spring) styling!
Since the Big Dub doesn't seem to be in a massive hurry to satiate our desire for some New Freakin' 'Shoots already, we're going to work on that ourselves. Nothing like taking some initiative ;) We're taking a look back at the style of a fashionista we haven't heard much from in awhile, Eve. It's not that she hasn't been busy, though. She's gotten married, started a family, become a spokesperson for Women Empowered and remained an Ambassador for WWE. She was a style star when she was with the company full-time, though (and a stellar role model for the straighter, athletic-figured among us). So, it was a challenge to narrow down her Top 5 'Shoots. She could smoothly change her look from soft and sexy to polished and cool to an occasional just-Eve-from-the-block gritty-glam moment. Which of all these made the top of our list? Keep reading...
WWE hasn't been very forthcoming with photoshoots lately...what gives, WWE peoples? But, they have managed to furnish us a gallery of Jojo-snaps which both takes a peek backwards in time and gives us a couple of new shots. If there's any diva who can rock the cuteness like nobody's business, it's Jojo! And, from the gallery, it's easy to see her style develop from adorably covetable to a more mature and daring playfulness. The bright bodycon dresses evolve into being accessorized with body chains and Rockstud heels, the fit-and-flare dresses suddenly take on pristine pleats and romantic necklines. Even sweet lace gets an edgy shot of metallic. I'm pretty sure she's about the only diva who could pull off that rose-print romper; the girly peach contrasts with the controlled silhouette for a dreamy youthful modernity. I always get a thrill from watching the ladies find their style footing and seeing Jojo explore not only further, but with increasing assurance and flair, is rewarding. So, go check out the gallery! :)
Brooke has been slaying fashion lately! Her latest is this fabulous combination of (ttly on-trend) blush pink girly-ness with a dash of hippie vibes, courtesy of her tribal-print scarf tied as a head band. Notice how her scarf coordinates without matching? Love that! You can do this look with almost any pale pink knit piece you own: a thermal top, a tunic, a slouchy sweater. If you're not a pink girl, you can capture the same feel with warm ivory or soft camel. Light wash flared leg jeans are the perfect accompaniment, giving that bohemian, 70's feel to the look. If you haven't invested in wide leg denim, yet, dig out a pair of bootcut ones. They'll create a similar look. Khaki boyfriend-style chinos are another option. After pastel color, accessories are the next most important key with this outfit. You'll need a scarf that has a free-spirited leaning. A strong-hued tribal print like Brooke's or a solid with a tasseled edge would work. You can also go with a floral (try something with stylized graphic flowers) or tie-dye. Stay with tonal shades (blush, warm rose, peach, baked clay) or earthy contrasts (caramel, chocolate, turquoise, aqua, sage, dusty blue). Do the Brooke thing and knot it around your forehead, go with a loose knot at your waist or just drape it around your neck. Stay with warm neutrals for shoes -nude, peach-pink, or caramel. An ankle boot is fabulous, as are platform sandals. Finish with a bevy of your favorite band rings, interspersed high and low on several fingers. Ready to feel like a wild wanderer (with a killer sense of style, of course)? Then, go for it :) Happy styling!
