Another fun character to take on for Halloween is referee. Just think - you don't have to wrestle, but you get to look cute and hot...and start and stop the action whenever you choose ;) Black and white is the name of this game. It's all about the striped top - in any silhouette you choose: sleeveless, cap sleeve, collared or not, straight cut hem or v-ed. Match that up with black shorts and black footwear - boots, sneakers, whatever makes you happy and comfortable. To sock or not to sock is all about your preference. Pair it with black shorts - denim, knit, anything goes. For colder temps, black leggings would work just as well. Then, you just need to create a company patch to stick on so everyone knows who you work for. Again, your printer is your friend here, and do-it-all electrical tape is your other bff. The tape will be less stiff than paper. White will make a clean background you can draw on, or black can be painted on. Either way, be creative..and get ready to run the ring on Halloween :)

Ok, so being a Diva or KO for Halloween was the obvious choice, but what about something diff? The only accessory you'll need to put together to be a ring announcer is a microphone. Most electronics stores will carry them quite inexpensively (like $10). Online shopping works too (that's my preference ;)) as long as you place an order about a week in advance and watch your transit times with the shipping. Then, you'll just need to find a small box, about 3x3 inches (you can cut a larger one down; it'll just take a bit more time), spray paint it black (or cover it with handy dandy Duct or electrical tape). A little craft paint will let you make the WWE or TNA logo (or print one on paper and tape or glue it on), so you can look completely official. Then, you'll just need a cute, hot dress - pretty much any style goes: dressed up, dressed down or anything in between - or pants and a smoking top. Ring announcer outfits only have to be one thing: FIERCE. Remember, all eyes are on you! Add in some fab jewelry and great shoes (I'd recommend sticking with flats or wedges...or chunky-heeled boots - which incidentally will look fab with a dress ;)- if you'll be doing a lot of walking. And voila: you're ready to announce your fave Diva, KO or superstar, sing the National Anthem or get interrupted by something large and furry :) That last one is ttly likely on Halloween night. #BeInspired and have fun!
Wrestling is chock full of ideas for Halloween. And no, we don't just mean The Undertaker :). The first and most obvious DIY costume that comes to mind is to create ring gear and make yourself into a Diva or Knockout! Your favorite sports bra is a great starting place, although a tied or cut-off close-fitting tank would work just as well. Then, you'll need some studs or crystals (of you're into that sort of thing :D) and a glue gun. Sparkle or spike it up to your heart's content. Do it all over, do it in a pattern - whatever floats your soap. If you prefer a plainer Alicia-Fox-inspired logo-only look, try colored electrical tape (thanks @ Velvet Sky for the idea :D). You can add color, make a pattern, put on a logo or initials. Easy peasy. Wristbands will be available at your local sporting goods store, while knee covers can be fashioned by cutting off a pair of old knee socks. I'd go with some bedazzling or be-studding here too, or back to the ol' handy dandy electrical tape. If you're in one of those places that tends to get chilly, you may want to take a page out of Carmella, Natalya or Maryse's book and use a cape, coat, fur vest or similar warm, but fierce article of garmentry as well. Put it all on an bam! - you're a diva! ...I mean, even more of a diva than you already are, of couse :)
I always have my eye out for outfit inspiration and Knockouts' and Divas' photoshoots are a great place to get ideas! That's not saying that you have to copy what they've done exactly. It's more fun to just play on a riff, to rhapsodize on the premise of what the ladies have done. So, the Inspiration Board will give you a bit of both: the inspirational pic and a season-appropriate ensemble that you can copy or be inspired by in turn.
It's interesting to me that, in previous decades, the style has been fairly homogenous. There wee a few primary looks that really stood out, contributing to our relating certain styles to certain eras. These days, there are sooo many styles that are trending at the same time, making that standout look of a certain decade much more difficult to achieve. My guess is that, in future, we'll look back on these decades and find certain iconic elements, rather than particular iconic styles. Bittersweet, no?
Brie: Whew...first real post. Ok. So, WWE has showcased all their ring announcers with a brand new fashion shoot. First up is Lilian, who shows us all how it's done in a silver ensemble. We know Lil loves her some glitter (who doesn't, right? ;)) and this pretty dress is all about the shine! She completes her monochromatic look with silver ankle strap heels. Statement earrings are the perfect touch to give this look a little more sophistication!
Eden has been gravitating toward yellow lately and frankly, that makes me be all "omg I can't even!" 'cuz yellow is my hands down favorite color. Ever. This pale rendition is completely gorgeous; its simple and oh so chic! Audrey Hepburn would definitely approve! Eden then adds a modern pop with her fierce bi-color pumps. The yellow in her heels is a perfect example of mixing without matching. So..ummm hi! *waves*. I'm Brie, fashion lover and Tech Idiot and this is the new incarnation of Diva-Fierce.com. Hopefully, it'll look a lot more glamorous soon, but for now...uuh it looks like this: dirty, sweaty and slightly confused. Oh Gaga, I am so much better with shoes! But...I will go pry open my toolbox now and hopefully, get this new Fierce thing built!
For newbies, the old Fierce thing was a celebration of Divas and Knockouts fashion paired with a bit of everything else that inspired me and my online bff's (aka Kim & Alicia). There'll be more of that! (I hope. I am thinking positively. I would chant affirmations...but I can't do that and use a drill at the same time. The whole lotus-position thing, ya know :) ) XO's -Brie |
Welcome to the place where wrestling & fashion join hands. Inspiration. Reviews. Musings. Retros. FASHION. Covering and craving gear to gowns since 2011. May the Fierce be with you! ;) Peace & Glitter!
