Sorry loves..meant to have this up by the weekend, but shix happens :p. So let's not talk about it 'cuz shix is Bore City. Let's talk about fashion 'cuz that's fun!!
Charlotte pays her tribute to the Undertaker in a sheer-striped bodycon dress worn over a bodysuit. A patent leather belt adds texture while bringing focus to her waist. She uses the length of studs that other divas wore as a belt or a harness as a piece of jewelry, which is a fab-looking, creative idea! Her feathered necklace is a nice addition as well, bringing a trendy, fringe-like effect to the look. She uses a single, fingerless glove to invoke Taker's UFC-style gloves and finishes things off with a hawt pair of strappy sandals. What stands out about this outfit is that its a play on all different kinds of bands: shiny, sheer, horizontal, vertical, wrapped. She explores all kinds of directions and materials. I hope Char continues to express her style voice because she has interesting things to say! Her poses are mainly tried-and-true and I commend her for going no farther than a smirk on her facials; she keeps in character and I like that!

Becky Lynch pays tribute to the Deadman with a pleated leather skirt, topped with a cropped halter and accented with a bevy of chains. The body halter makes an interesting and trendy addition. The final piece of her ensemble is a classic leather jacket. She gets points for the fishnet stockings, which are highly appropriate here and add a pinch more hardcore feel to her look. She stays away from gloves but goes for bold cuffs bracelets. And I'm especially intrigued by the one on her right wrist because it looks very much like a wrapped belt. I LOVE the intensity and bravery of that look! ...not leastly because I just recently suggested using a belt in precisely that way, as an alternative to a bracelet. #GreatStylishMinds :D I also give Becky props for her facials - she sticks with the unsmiling, take-no-BS expressions that are Deadman staples and it's just right for this shoot!
WWE has been celebrating the anniversary of The Undertaker (aka The Deadman...and SO many other beloved names..sigh. #Nostalgia ..Sorry. I'm a Taker mark. Admit it with pride. Always and forever. 'Til.. death do us part. Or beyond. Ha ;).) One thing they've done that is a total #MustSee is a gallery of sketches for ideas for Undertaker costumes and merch. The gallery is WICKED cool...and you can get to it here. So go check that out. Another thing they've done is an entiiiiiiiire photo gallery of Divas dressing all Deadman-style. Ooooooo! :) So, yeah..we were just talking about black on black yesterday with a lil' inspiration from Madison Rayne and here we go again with that look. There is just about every variation you can imagine. Natalya kicks things off with what is actually a very classic dress, although it's tough to tell at first glance under all that hardware. This chic LBD has a flirty front slit, but things get distinctly more hardcore from there. She's added a sleeved shrug that makes me think of her entrance gear, and then accessorized with a chain and leather belt, as well as a metal, chain and grommetted-leather-strapped choker that is hella fierce. Emphasis on the HELLa :). A plastic mesh hairband and leather gloves complete her look. Sadly, we don't get to see her shoes...but I'm thinking studded pumps would totally fit the "too fierce to take your BS" vibe she's rocking. Nattie doesn't give us a huge range of facials, but the ones she does are spot on: serious and brooding. Black on black is a classic look that's been making a comeback lately among various style-setters, so I was all over using it for an inspiration post when I saw this pic of Madison wearing it. But I have another reason for wanting to do a Madison post and that is...to tell you there's a new Madison Rayne fan site in town! The site is madisonrayne.net and the content is fab, including lots of cool vids and news. So make sure you check that out and follow them on Twittah :) @mraynenetwork. And now, to fashion...
With the recent dearth of Knockouts shoots, I'm willing to take whatever I can get, so when I saw this set of snaps from Gail Kim, I jumped on it. Gail's repping Suplex Wrestling, a company which sells wrestling gear, but focuses on the athletic side of the game. Think of it as workout gear for the wrestling obsessed! Gail shows off a bunch of the company's offerings: one of a couple t-shirts with cool sayings, cute shorts and my fav: the cropped halter tops. You can see the shoot on the co.'s facebook here and be sure to check out their gear too! of the seasons :) We're heading into Fall/Winter, but who doesn't love some bikini body inspiration? Really, any season is good for a little extra hotness, right? The KO's are currently presenting their 2016 Calender and it's definitely not too early to be thinking about holiday gift-giving! It's available here and the snaps look amazeballs. These bikini shots make me think of the Jem and the Holograms fashion - the neon brights are straight up 80's and there's definitely a rocker edge to the passamenterie here: fringe, studs, foil - it's stage-ready for sure. Piles of bright jewelry - no mininmalism here! - enhance that vibe. The whole look of these shoots is vibrant, vivacious and crazy fun. It's just the kind of thing you want hanging on your wall through the dark days of winter to lighten your mood and remind you that beaches, waves and swimsuit days are just a few short months away. So grab yourself and your fellow KO-loving bestie one before they're gone!
So, it's transitional time...Nature is over summer but has not quite committed to Fall/Winter yet. You can be committed though - to getting your inspiration from the ladies of wrestling ;). Angelina's fur vest looks super cool here, paired with skinny jeans and it's def Autumn-appropriate. For real life-wear, we can take that look a bit further and style it with a warm, 70's-channeling (and consequently mega-trendy)turtleneck underneath. Ankle booties would be totally cute here, but you can also get your fierce on with some fur-trimmed knee boots. A personally meaningful pendant would be an appropriate, obvious addition, but I also love the idea of going for a bold statement with a pair of wide cuff bracelets.
Leather is a fabulous material for keeping with the whole tuned-in-with-Nature 70's vibe. If it's hard for you to find bracelets that fit, consider wrapping a narrow belt around you wrist :) |
