Alexa has been demonstrating a talent for nailing cute outfits, so it's high time we get inspired by her style. This outfit is a great way to start! While the graphic tee is tons of fun, the real key to this look is the pairing of the A-line/flared/skater skirt and mid-calf boots, an unusual shaft height that looks amazingly chic if done just right. Proportion is crucial -you want to make sure there's significant space between the hem of your skirt and the top of the boot, so they'll work best with skirts in the fingertip to just-above-the-knee length categories. (The other option is to choose a skirt that extends beyond the top of the boot, but that's for another day :)). A midi length skirt will tend to shorten your line when paired with a mid-calf length. It can look quite blocky, so basically, if you see that pairing in your future...RETREAT! :). Heel heights can range from low 1-2" block heels to 4" stilettos. The lower heel - especially with a slouchy silhouette - will have a casual-quirky vibe, while a higher heel will be a bit fiercer -think "urban trendsetter"-, so pick your passion! This look also benefits from a touch of volume on the bottom, so definitely consider pleats, with or without the A-line shape. After the skirt, the next step is to add your graphic or band tee of choice. Top the look with a cropped biker or military jacket. If you need a warmer variation, ditch the tee for a flannel shirt. Tuck it in or knot it at the waist. If you choose the first option, follow Alexa's lead and add a shiny waist belt. I love how this metal plate version feels really current! Metallic leather or something studded will work as well. The flannel-shirt variation also happens to be super versatile and allows for a number of iterations: you can skip the jacket and add a faux fur vest (definitely think about slipping it under the belt; it's such a great look). Alternatively, you can achieve warmth and a similar cool-girl vibe with a cashmere wrap (also belted). If you're up for still more experimentation, you can play with proportion even more and top the ensemble with a wool overcoat. Choose a length that falls longer than your skirt, but 6-10 inches about the tops of your boots. Drape it over your shoulders or leave it open so the whole world can see just how much of a proportion genius you are. I hope this inspires you to try the mid-calf+skirt look soon (PS if you don't own mid-calf boots, this look can abso be done with knee-height footwear). Happy styling!

We are going blonde on diva-fierce! No hair dye required ;) - just a roundup of fabulous style from blonde after blonde. We did manage to sneak in a brunette and a redhead too :)
Noelle ...edit: woops I already covered this look a couple posts back. Guess this is what happens when I'm exhausted and don't clean up files.:p I said almost the same thing last time too...at least I'm consistent :) #GraspingAtStraws Speaking of Charlotte, she debuted a new color variant of her gear: steel gray with orange piping. While I think the blue-tinged shades suit her particularly well, I really enjoy this unusual combination of shades. Orange is fairly rare in the land of diva color choices and pairing it with cool steel gray - which really sets off the vibrancy of the orange trim - is still more unique. I nearly always dole out props for the unexpected, and Char definitely earns herself some here! Lana showed off her casual side as she wore this olive green t-shirt dress to a pre-Clash Of Champions signing event for the new WWE Encyclopedia. She gave this look a slightly boho vibe by doing her hair in a pair of side braids. An oh-so-trendy choker completed the look nicely. I can easily imagine black or caramel ankle booties being the footwear of choice for this look. Alexa caught my eye with this super cute outfit - a graphic tee (reading "Dear Karma, I have a list of people you missed") paired with a scallop-hemmed A-line skirt. She topped the whole thing with a cropped leather jacket. I'm ttly on board for her addition of a wide waist belt for a hint of metallic flash; it brings in just the pop that the outfit needed. Black tights and mid-calf leather boots rounded off the ensemble. She reinforced the sugar-coated punk vibe with a high ponytail - a look I love! So, burgundy OTKs are definitely a thing! We saw them on Mandy, we've seen them on several prominent fashion bloggers and now, we're seeing them on Maryse, which seals the deal. When Maryse signs on, it's officially a trend. She let hers be the statement portion of a classic LBD. A cropped black military jacket added a touch of warmth...and fierceness! The simplicity - with a dash of attitude- of this look is very appealing. I would absolutely wear this outfit! Naturally, she also needed a pair of shades - the better to dodge the paparazzi, my dear! ;) I seem to be up to a trilogy of late September FashionHaps. Getting like Star Wars around here.
Brie went for a lighthearted jumpsuit in this autumn pic. The pastel tones and delicateness of the print make this piece unusual. It's a perfect bland of her feminine, free-spirited style. She snuck a gray tee underneath it for a bit more coverage - an excellent idea! Light-colored onesies were the rage that week - Cathy wore a taupe romper for this joyful insta-pic. This piece leans strongly minimalist - the only detail is an attached belt, which adds shape to the billowy fabric. Cathy finished the look with beige lace-up booties, which work nicely, keeping the whole outfit softly neutral. I could also see ankle booties working well here. I might have been tempted to go with black, as I prefer not to mix warm and cool browns. This piece is quite versatile in terms of footwear pairings - it could be transitioned to cooler months with OTK boots. Just add a jacket topper. At the end of Sept Smackdown, Maryse switched up her now-trademark maillot-style bodysuit for a cutout one-piece. The negative-space details give this piece a very modern vibe and a big dose of va-voom. The simplicity of the fabric lends itself to her patterned suede OTKs. While I miss the fierce glamour of her zip bodysuits and sequined brassieres and belts, this more edited piece is a nice way to change things up. The sleek styling of her ponytail matches the tenor of the look perfectly. I'm a tad reserved, though, about her cinnamon lip shade. I wonder if a brighter tone would have added a bit more pop. She returned to the zip bodysuit look at the next event, this time switching out the gold for a graphite shade that looks amaaaaaazing. The details of this design - the corset belt, the slice brassiere cps, the trendy mockneck - are so well-conceived, so hot and so straight-up fierce! I'm still loving this look and I'm pretty sure I will be for awhile :) We haven't seen a whole lot of Paige since she took time off to have surgery (heal fast, Paige!), but when she does blip across our radar, it's with the same punk-edged style we came to love her for. Here, she pairs a black bodysuit with super-deep sides and cropped gray jeans. Ankle booties complete this grunge-flair-don't-care styling. I am not over my little lovefest with the sparkly bomber...not quite yet :). I mentioned when I discussed Maria's wearing of it that I could envision a whole plethora of possibilities for it. Obvi, a bold piece like this lends itself to parties, concerts and similar fancy-cool occasions. But, I don't think it needs to be consigned to holidays and the like. I would definitely also dress a piece like this down by pairing it with skinny jeans (distressing optional) or moto pants. For warmer days, keep the casual coming by layering the sparkles over a super-chill graphic or band tee - the more worn-in, the better! When it's cooler, layer an oversize, slouchy sweater below. Alternatively, do things in a more sophisticated way: go with a form-fitting tee or ribbed body-con sweater underneath. The slimmer fit will give the look a much more refined feel. We know Maria looooves her stilettos and I completely agree - this outfit could easily be finished with a pair of pointy toe pumps. (If the ones pictured look familiar, it's because they're the Kendall+Kylie Abi which we've seen Charlotte wearing like crazy all summer. I liked the fashion-forward feel of the cutout side to complete this urban look). On the other hand, you could round off the pairing with ankle booties for a more casual vibe. I went with a simple-leaning-toward-fierce zippered pair, but you could make this outfit even more relaxed by going with a lug-soled boot here. The hiker/biker connotation would add a tougher edge, making a nice counterpoint to the shine. The trick to wearing sequins and shine during the day is to let the sheen be the statement. Skip the accessories and keep the rest of the palette neutral. I would absolutely wear a look like this to dinner at a non-formal restaurant, shopping, or to the movies. Depending on how casual/creative your workplace is, you might even get away with it there (just stick with non-distressed denim). Lastly, if the sequins seem a tad over the top to you, try a bomber done in fabric with sheen, such as satin. That will give you the same fancy-sporty vibe, but with a lower glare level that's even more versatile. I hope this inspires you to get your shine on sometime soon, Fancies! XO
