I’m going to do something a little different this year: instead of releasing the Hall Of Fame Review in one fell swoop, I’m going to keep adding a new group to the post each day. This will let me get the post up sooner ( I reeeeaaaly don’t want to be doing the HoF in June again!) and lets me devote time to each review and not feel like I’m rushing to get it all done so I can get the post up.
Every year, this is probably the most difficult review I do. There are always so many killer looks that I’m splitting hairs and weighing miniscule differences to determine who lands where on the count-up. The only choice that was easy this year was the top spot. I knew that placing immediately after going through all the looks the first time. Who earned that nod? Well, stick with me :). We kick things off with the ladies who I loved, save for one something or other.

I’m still not over the high of Wrestlemania week – maybe because I’ve been slaving over pics and collages :) We will have AAALLLL the Wrestlemania fashion for you here over the course of the next few days and we’re kicking it off with a taste of the Hall Of Fame. Last year, we gave all the non-roster ladies their own count-up and this year, since we have a number of ladies participating, we’re keeping the tradition going! The looks ran the gamut from monochrome to brights, fancy to relaxed and we loved seeing all of them. I have to open with my usual caveat: all the ladies looked incredible and every time I do a count-up, I’m always splitting hairs to determine placings! Tiny things make the difference because they have to :). With that said, let’s get to the “who wowed us the most” part! Here goes…
First, I apologize for the extreme tardiness of this review...and I take back every griping thing I ever said about Joey Styles. Then again, he gets paid to get the pics up and I don't earn zip from this labor of love I fit in around life, animals and a real job. So, actually, I don't take back anything I said about him after all :). Second, I'm laughing at myself as I'm posting this review. You would never believe how many times I've re-done the collages because my placements keep changing as I analyze and weight the looks. This is HARD, babes! Every year, so many ladies come out here and slay and somehow I have to distill it all into some kind of order. It's cray! And it's also fun. And I'm usually hella proud of the list when I finally get done, probably because I fight so hard to make it accurate and justify each placing. As always, I feel the need to mention that I madly adore each of these divas and root for all of them to rock the ravishing red lane of fame. I love it every time they do! That being said...
OK...we are fiiiiiinally kicking off our reviews again and it all starts with the Hall Of Fame Fashion Review for the Alumni Divas! We're counting up the non-roster ladies who wowed us on the red carpet, with the top prize being a whole lot of fashion love from us ;)
Are you on tenterhooks yet? We've seen the Ever So Fine and the Fab...but which gorgeous divas fill the ranks of the Fantastic and the Flawless?...
Beth Phoenix: Beth often chose black dresses for red carpet events while with WWE, but I always had a special love of seeing her in color. She rocked some this year with this softly beautiful lilac-silver gown, which makes her look just radiant (her pregnancy may be helping with that too ;)...CONGRATS Beth & Edge!). The satin waistband is a beautiful and sophisticated detail, as is the diamond pin that secures the wrap design of this gorgeous gown. Beth accented it with a delicate, layered necklace and a feminine half-updo set off by twists and curls. The whole presentation is subtle, but striking, and without a doubt one of my all-time favorite red carpet looks from Beth! I'm so happy to see her looking so happy ...and so stunning! Jacqueline: I really love the dress Jacqueline chose for her Hall Of Fame induction: it's so much more than a classic, black gown! The crystal-embellished scrollwork at the top adds one glamorous detail, while the unique and becoming draped wrap - completed by a glittering flower- provides another. Together, they make this dress truly special. Jacqueline accented it with a crystal bangle and slim earrings, for a cohesive and chic ensemble, well worthy of her magical night! Jojo: This girl continues to impress me with her maturing sense of style; she is one of the highest-ranking new additions to the count-up in recent years. Her dress is a wonderful combination of modernity and glamour! It has the feel of a coord set, but the embellished black skirt and simple bandeau are connected by a cascade of magnificent jewels. The sleek, high pony adds both polish and a sense of fun, while tiny stud earrings add all that's needed for baubletry. I love the confidence and command of style this choice shows; it's such an amazing look, totally appropriate for both the Hall Of Fame and for Jojo. Very nicely done! Lilian: If Lilian didn't slay the red carpet, I'd probably do something drastic from the shock :). This glittering strapless ensemble is, as usual, an unerring choice. The shimmery fabric and swirling sequins make it an adventurous choice, which Lilian intelligently counters with a plain black clutch and laid-back hairstyle. I love how she doesn't shy away from the formality of the gown, but works with it. She gets bonus fierce points for utilizing one of my favorite accessories: a statement ring in a coordinating color, which brings harmony to the look. Fantastic, as always! Alright Fashion Fanciers...grab yourself a long, tall, hot cup of your favorite joe and strap in. We're going to analyze, adore and dissect to within an inch of it's glittering life the red carpet fashion that made us say "ooo", "aahhh" , "ooohh" and "djfefoacpokrpgknxsal". My usual disclaimer applies: hairs have been split. Miniscule fashion choices have carried immense weight due to the need to determine placings. Understand: I root my keister off for each of these girls to slay every time out. I want it to happen. I crave it. Further, I believe, I know all of them can. It's just a question of who does it when. So, who did it last Saturday night? The 2016 Hall Of Fame Fashion Review is awaiting the sound of the starter's gun. Let the counting commence!
The Ever So Fine Eva Marie: Our favorite redhead for sure has the kind of body that can rock a gown like this! And I give her huge props for wearing a white dress that doesn't look like a wedding gown. Nextly, cutouts are amazing! They can look so modern, sexy and fierce. But I also think they require some restraint, especially for a formal event. A Maxim 'shoot is one thing; this is the Hall Of Fame. This dress seems to push the risqué a bit too far for the classiest event of WWE's year. The formal up-do was a bright spot, helping to balance that, and the crystal statement necklace was a highlight as well. Set against a subtler statement, they would have made this look a winner. Emma: I love the way this gown shifted colors in the light from amethyst to wine red. There's a lot of flash and drama combined here, between the large sequins and sheer insets; it's a bit busy and comes off more brazen than intrepid. The effortless, flowing hairstyle was an excellent choice, helping to counteract all the shine. The small gold clutch functions similarly and works well. Paige: This black gown is a triumph of minimalism, depending on the deep-v front for it's visual impact. The only strike against it is that it is the same one she wore at the Oscars and, in a contest this close (as the HoF count-up *always* is!), that carries weight. Her choker is a trendy and fabulous choice. I do wish she had added a gemstone ( I'm imagining a statement-size garnet) to it; the simplicity of the dress would have benefitted from such an elevation. But these are split hairs. Her one unforgiveable choice was the flat thong sandals. Oh, Paige. You mock me :'(. As always, the could-have-beens are heart and gut-wrenching. Would a pair of studded, strappy heels (I'd even take chunky heels) really have been so impossible? Sasha: This black woven gown was a very appropriate choice for the event - chic and modern. I love her silver crystal clutch - it's clean and glamorous and brings a bit of needed flash to the black dress. Props also for the crystal bracelet. Anyone who knows me knows I love a good statement necklace so it will doubtless surprise you that I think I actually would have preferred something a bit more refined here - a slim, but sparkly or strong silver lariat comes to mind - to elevate without overdramatizing. This is a nice job for a red carpet firstie; I expect great things from Sasha as she continues to hone and evolve her style. We've seen some gloooooorious fashion topping our Hall Of Fame Fashion Review! The inaugural year was 2011, the year diva-fierce.com was born and Kelly Kelly aka Barbie Blank took the crown with this magnificent, intricate corset-and-feather confection. Her sleek low ponytail was a perfect foil for the complexity of the dress. At the opposite end of the spectrum was 2012's queen, Natalya. She tweeted a sneak peek of this dress and we were raving over it at first sight. Classic in all the right ways, with a bit of a twist (literally via that looped halter neckline, and figuratively, with that sweeping bow at the back), this super chic LBD went on to turn back all challengers for the HoF Fashion crown. Nattie's bold cuff and gorgeous up-do finished it flawlessly. Elegance met complexity in 2013, with this stunning lace mermaid gown that earned the top spot for Layla. After several years of simple dresses, girlfriend let it all loose - in the most glamorous, feminine way. A sophisticated up-do and black chandelier earrings were all that was required to make this entire look..well...flawless :). It had seemed since the first year of the HoF review that Nikki was bound to steal the show. 2014 was her year, as this fierce and forward combination of sequins and sheers took the top of the podium in 2014, just edging sister Brie. Red lips and nails and the tiniest of diamond pendants added just right amount of color with just the right amount of restraint for an utterly magical combination. It was all about the new lady on the block in 2015 - never had a new addition to the roster gone all the way to the pinnacle in her first year...until Eden rocked our universe with this divine teal gown. An exquisite shoulder detail turned a simple, chic dress into a showstopper. The silhouette provided both drama and sophistication...and blew us away. Crystal statement earrings and a simple long-and-curled hairstyle made this ensemble unforgettable.
