I’m deep in feels over the Bellas announcing their retirement from in-ring competition late last month. I watched their debut matches and the highlight moments of their early use of Twin Magic, so I’ve been a fan pretty much their entire career. I was just as sad when they announced their first hiatus from the company in 2011, and ecstatic when they came back. I’ve enjoyed every bit of their time in WWE - especially their fashion! :) While we’ll likely continue to be privy to their stellar street fashion (thank goodness! #SilverLining) - which we'll continue to cover! -, and there are rumors that Nikki will likely be offered a company ambassadorship, ring gear galleries will be a bit duller without their always envelope-pushing contributions. Sigh. Best of luck in all that you do in the future, Ladies! I'll miss you - again :) XO

It is with sadness that we share the news that Nikki Bella posted on her Instagram today: she and John have decided to separate as a couple. Our hearts go out to both of them at this difficult time and we wish them all the best.
The surprises aren't just on Raw this week! Last night on Smackdown Live, we saw the debut of Sarah Logan, Ruby Riot, and Liv Morgan. The trio first attacked Naomi and Becky Lynch backstage, before they interfered in the title match between Charlotte Flair and Natalya. Liv has been signed to NXT since 2014, going through a gimmick and name change before she really got her start in 2015/2016. Ruby has worked for numerous independent promotions before she was offered an NXT contract in January of this year. Sarah has made various appearances for WWE since 2014, signed her performance center contract in 2016, and most notably was a participant in the Mae Young Classic. That makes 5 main rosters debuts this week! WWE is really shaking things up in the women's division, let's see where they go from here. Welcome to SD Live, ladies!
The moment many of us have been waiting for finally happened last night on RAW when Paige made her much anticipated return to the WWE. Not only that, along side her debuted Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville from NXT. Both women were part of the 2015 season of Tough Enough, where Paige was a judge. Mandy was also a cast member for season 5 of Total Divas. The three women took out the competitors in the ring, before attacking the current RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss backstage. What a way to remind everyone that this is her house. Welcome back, Paige! And to Mandy and Sonya, welcome to the main roster!
WWE came to terms on the release of Summer and Emma as of the end of October. I’m always sad to see any of the ladies leave. I get to know them and their style and watch them grow and it feels like my sister is leaving for college. I can always keep in touch, but it’s not the same. Summer’s release is the less surprising of the two, as she has not been on tv for nearly a year, due to injury. I loved her classy Instagram comment following the event:
“They say you'll never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory. Well that wasn't true in this situation. I knew the value of this moment, I knew the magnitude of this moment. I hear some of you say "but you didn't become champ", "you didn't get the push you deserved", "you didn't get a title run". But see, I got MY title. I became a WWE Diva.” Like many people, I tend to assume that every girl’s goal is hold the title, but when you think about what it takes to even make it on to the roster –all the years of training, the travel, the stress on your body, the discipline, maintaining the fitness level – it becomes clear that just becoming a Diva is a significant achievement. Summer’s thoughts put it in perspective beautifully and I’m so happy that she reached her goal. I will, however, miss her fashion muchly. Her NY Fashion Week looks in particular stand out for me as complete killage. So, I fervently hope something fashion-related is in her future! Emma (Tenille Dashwood) was also upbeat after initially posting a broken heart emoji, saying “I feel very fortunate to have the most amazing family, friends and fans in the world! I am excited for the future. The best is yet to come!” Her release was very unexpected, as she had recently begun a feud with Asuka. Her various fashion evolutions – from bouncy Aussie to dark attitude to Emmalina – were always intriguing and a sign that reinventing herself is something that she’s quite comfortable with, which should stand her in good stead for the future. We wish both her and Summer the very best for whatever direction the future takes them in! After all the months of waiting, BirdieBee is finally here, open and ready to be shopped! Woot woot! First and foremost, congratulations to Brie and Nikki on reaching this milestone. They’ve put a lot of time, energy and thought into this, so it’s wonderful to see it come to fruition. Next, this is not everything they intend to offer. Think of it as a capsule collection. Lots of new items are still coming in and extended sizes will be debuting early next year. I like that they opened with a variety of different items: tees, sweaters and activewear, in addition to the intimates that seemed to be the original focus of the line. They also get props for awareness of fabrics: the workout gear is done in quick-drying nylon blend, while the intimates are in a fabulously soft modal-cotton combo. There are a couple of basics, but most of the clothing is sprinkled with inspirational quotes or graphics. My favorite is the “You literally can even” sweater :). These are collectible pieces, intended to be bought as functional outfit-highlight pieces. Don’t be expecting 2/$10 tees that you can get spaghetti sauce all over without caring; that’s what Walmart is for. The activewear seems to be a genre that will be a brand highlight in future: the streamlined seaming on the leggings has a cool vibe and the simple bralette, which immediately set me raving, has a super-hot strappy back design and is my favorite piece of the whole collection so far. It has a very Nikki-esque vibe…and who wouldn’t want to feel like Nikki when they’re working out? ;) Props to the ladies for a solid, workman-like debut with some intriguing moments. I can’t wait to see what else they have in store (literally and figuratively ;)).
BirdieBee is available to shop right now HERE. Note: there were apparently a few web site bugs with international shipping in the launch, which have now been fixed, but if you see an issue, please let the company know (without freaking out :)) so they can fix it. There is so much going on with TNA...no, Impact...no, GFW..Wrestling that I can hardly keep pace wih it all! Among the many goings on are the "One out, one in" game among the Knockouts. Angelina love asked for and was granted her release in August. She did not explain the situation further, but appears to have left the company on good terms. As always, we wish her the very best in whatever she does next! No sooner had that goodbye been said then we got a surprise "hello" from a lady I never expected to see in the ring again: Taryn Terrell! She quit sports entertainment in 2015, but seems to have found her way back to it and we're very happy she did, as Taryn has always been a super-fun performer, not to mention a stellar fashionista. We're still not sure where all this is leading the promotion formerly known as TNA, but we're excited about it...and concerned at the same time..if that emotional combo is even possible.
