We have the very great pleasure of getting to see some of Lilian's style this FashionHap - an event always worth the wait! She looked sweet and summery in this spaghetti-strap sundress in oh so classic navy. The buckle details at the sides give this piece a special twist...and additional versatility! Lilian's nude pumps make this look lighthearted, it could easily swing to the tough side of chic when paired with fierce black booties (and maybe a moto jacket ;)). Meanwhile, Jojo gets her bright on in this mesmerizing shade of neon melon! This is just the kind of color I gravitate to in the summer. Even though it's daring and attention-getting, it flatters both blondes and brunettes, so don't be shy about trying it out :) Jojo brings out the warm-weather vibe by accenting it with a white floral necklace and white ankle-strap pumps. The florals bring a wonderful softness to the edgy cutouts on the dress for a fab interplay between mod and femme. As a devoted fan of Lana's style, I am very unhappy to have to admit that this dress isn't my favorite of her choices. Somehow, it gives me nightgown vibes, likely a combination of the curved-up-at-the-side hemline, the spaghetti straps, the bodycon style and the print. Two, or even three, of those elements this look could have survived...just not all four together. There are shiny spots too, though! One is her super cute high pony - I just adore this look! Second is her shhooooooooooeeeessss *heart eyes*. These blush strappy sandals are killer and I want to see them again with another outfit! And again! And again! And ag...*Brie is clonked on the head with a rubber penguin and subsides* Now, Lana's next look -from MITB- is back to her usual stellar form. The lace bustier paired with her black sailor-style pencil skirt and topped with a cropped leather jacket is a trademark Lana look, which she rocks. But what reeeeeeeaaallly makes it stand out is her addition of a crystal choker and earrings. They're a touch 90's, a touch right now and a massive lot of glam. Slay me! (Can I get some crystal-studded heels with that, please? :)) It was a reprise of her Raw look, where she debuted a slim, black leather choker instead of the crystal. The look was considerably less glam...but still fabulous! Her next Raw look was this double breasted dress with contrasting trim. The different fabrics add interest to this sheath and I'm really enjoying seeing her experiment with something other than her pencil skirt sets, but which still retains that pristine, icy, temptation that characterizes Lana's style.

Maryse has been slaying fashion life since she stepped back on to the big screen. Her first offering paired chevron-waist (love that look!) leggings with lace-up OTK's and one heck of a statement jacket! The cropped, all-over metallic lace piece is a serious jaw-dropper. It's beautiful, feminine, an artistic achievement and HOT. While Maryse layered it over a brassiere, I can completely see this piece working layered over a bandeau, a form-fitting tank or a classic LBD. It's the very definition of a statement piece! The same can be said for her tie-front car coat. Done in a steely taupe opaque fabric, it's accented with plastic-esque stripes for a fierce, mod look. She finished the look in the same way as her previous outfit: with leggings and OTKs. It's a super cool, entertainer's twist on a classic fashion blogger look...and I adore it! Maryse added a can't-miss-it statement necklace for an additional dash of glam. Ogh, she's so fab!
I also love Charlotte's look from Raw in April where she paired this lace top with black denim. The underlayer of her top allows the gorgeous detail of the lace pattern to show through in a really beautiful way and I love the textural contrast of the delicate lace and the tough, woven denim. Her hairstyle is one of my fav looks for her too - she wrapped tendrils around her head and pinned them to create a self-headband effect, which is lovely! Nikki brought us a complex, but fun look which melded a cropped lace tee with a printed flared skirt. Up to there. it's cute and sophisticated, but she brings some punk-ish fierceness in with her strappy platform booties. A high bun completes the look. She styled it for a wine festival and it comes off very hip and interesting, i.e. perfect for that kind of event ;) We'll be winding up WM week (finally!..rt? :)) with the fashion of the day itself and a little GearFest this week, but for now, it's all about the last vestiges of non-ring fashion before the big day.
Stephanie rocked WM 32 Media Day in this robins' egg blue sheath. The color is utterly gorgeous and couldn't be more perfect for spring! (Aside: this shade of blue is famous as the trademark color of the jewelry store, Tiffany's). The front pockets add a bit of casual modernity to this dress. Her mesh ivory sandals keep th whole look soft and light, and that's enhanced by her pastel make-up tones. Everything about this speaks of newness and a flush of youthful, spring colors. And it works flawlessly! Soft and light seems to have been on everyone's mind, as Charlotte chose this ivory sheath for her look at Media Day. She paired it with her nude Kendall + Kylie Abi pumps. I love the classic silhouette of this dress, and also the on-trend lace detailing, which keeps it ultra-current. Charlotte's simple pumps, with their unique, swooped detail, keep this chic, minimalist outfit interesting and chic. Stephanie's Hall Of Fame dress only recently came to my attention; it's this stunning tulle-fringed confection of a high-necked halter dress from Alexander McQueen. Ogh...I'm in heaven! This high-neck style generally carries a very sleek, modernist connotation, but with the graceful, fluttery embellishments, it feels feminine and light. It's an absolutely beautiful and fabulous piece, typical of Sarah Burton's flawlessly tailored romantic vision for the house of McQueen. It's such a jazz to get to see amazing pieces like this out and about on ladies whose style we adore! #ThankYouSteph The Superstars For Hope benefit is one of the many highlights of WrestleMania week, not least (for us fashion-obsessed) because the ladies come out to rock the red carpet in some amazing outfits.
Lilian was looking gorgeously glam in this glittered ivory sheath. The patterning of the sparkle brings strong impact to this sheath dress. She outdid herself with the accessories though: that delicate, drizzled cuff is glorious! The subtle shimmer is the perfection addition to her glittery dress. And those shoes! I'm always down for a fab pair of ankle straps and the multiple fabric, plus the cut of the vamp make these killer! Maryse was slaying red carpets all over the place this year! In addition to being the runner up at our Hall Of Fame Fashion Review, she easily wins Best Dressed here. The cobalt color of this modernist gown is everything! Pair that with the uber-unique neckline and you have an utterly crave-worthy piece. Note how the jersey fabric makes it formal, but not overly so; her HoF gown was dressier yet. The appropriateness of her choices wins high praise from me. Ditto her slicked-back long, loose hairstyle; it's sleek polish is a flawless accompaniment to this gown. Jojo continues her run of impressive style with this ivory V-neck mini dress. The sheen of the fabric assists the deep-v and sparkling band at her waist in creating just the right amount of formality. The look exudes freshness, coupled with growing sophistication...and I love it! She also gets Fierce points for her make-up - the warmth of this palette is a totally gorgeous choice. Stephanie McMahon chose a pink and gray sheath for this event. The strong but feminine shoulder immediately suggests it is an Alexander McQueen piece, which indeed it is. I love the shape of this dress and the ruffle detailing at the shoulder and collar - they create a subtle but elegant detail which make this dress stand out. My only reservation is that the fabric appears to be a knit, which makes it a bit less formal than I would ideally love, although formal shoes could allay that. However, I am madly (like bouncing in my chair) excited to see Stephanie adding new (and haute couture!) designers to her collection. She's been a fan of Michael Kors for quite some time; McQueen represents an intriguing and thrilling new direction. More please! :) Are you on tenterhooks yet? We've seen the Ever So Fine and the Fab...but which gorgeous divas fill the ranks of the Fantastic and the Flawless?...
Beth Phoenix: Beth often chose black dresses for red carpet events while with WWE, but I always had a special love of seeing her in color. She rocked some this year with this softly beautiful lilac-silver gown, which makes her look just radiant (her pregnancy may be helping with that too ;)...CONGRATS Beth & Edge!). The satin waistband is a beautiful and sophisticated detail, as is the diamond pin that secures the wrap design of this gorgeous gown. Beth accented it with a delicate, layered necklace and a feminine half-updo set off by twists and curls. The whole presentation is subtle, but striking, and without a doubt one of my all-time favorite red carpet looks from Beth! I'm so happy to see her looking so happy ...and so stunning! Jacqueline: I really love the dress Jacqueline chose for her Hall Of Fame induction: it's so much more than a classic, black gown! The crystal-embellished scrollwork at the top adds one glamorous detail, while the unique and becoming draped wrap - completed by a glittering flower- provides another. Together, they make this dress truly special. Jacqueline accented it with a crystal bangle and slim earrings, for a cohesive and chic ensemble, well worthy of her magical night! Jojo: This girl continues to impress me with her maturing sense of style; she is one of the highest-ranking new additions to the count-up in recent years. Her dress is a wonderful combination of modernity and glamour! It has the feel of a coord set, but the embellished black skirt and simple bandeau are connected by a cascade of magnificent jewels. The sleek, high pony adds both polish and a sense of fun, while tiny stud earrings add all that's needed for baubletry. I love the confidence and command of style this choice shows; it's such an amazing look, totally appropriate for both the Hall Of Fame and for Jojo. Very nicely done! Lilian: If Lilian didn't slay the red carpet, I'd probably do something drastic from the shock :). This glittering strapless ensemble is, as usual, an unerring choice. The shimmery fabric and swirling sequins make it an adventurous choice, which Lilian intelligently counters with a plain black clutch and laid-back hairstyle. I love how she doesn't shy away from the formality of the gown, but works with it. She gets bonus fierce points for utilizing one of my favorite accessories: a statement ring in a coordinating color, which brings harmony to the look. Fantastic, as always! WrestleMania rolling around means it's SPRING....woohoo! And spring somehow always equates to flowers somewhere in fashion. Prints have been strong for several seasons and show little sign of slowing down. Fashion reinvented them this past winter, bringing in the dark floral look, with deep colors, which is appropriate for both fall/winter and gothic-femme looks done the rest of the year (think AlexanderMcQueen and you'll have the idea). The Divas are definitely fans of florals, choosing dresses, rompers and tops with variations of the print. There's no denying florals are fun to wear - it's like having a garden right on your body! I dare you to feel sad with such a print comprising part of your outfit!
In response to my requests for more photoshoots (ok, not really...but I did tweet a couple people :)), WWE has released this Batman v Superman-themed photoshoot, featuring a plethora of Divas. The 'shoot's photos used a background that matched that of the movie poster, with a few special-effect sparks added as well. The lighting was quite interesting, especially for a WWE 'shoot, and brought extra dimension to the pics in terms of light and shadow and a cinematic feel. There is an interesting mix of pictures gathered here. Some fit the theme quite well and some look as if they were fashion 'shoots where the Diva was photoshopped onto the background.
Lana's pic fits the latter category. Fortunately, it detracts little from the quality of the shot. Between her all-black ensemble, which pairs her trademark cropped jacket with a bodycon LBD, and her bold collar necklace (which I am pretty sure is this piece from J. Crew), her outfit is cool, polished and stylish...in other words, everything we've come to expect from our fav ravishing Russian :). We get a couple of pics from Jojo and I really love how she used two very different looks to convey the duality between Batman and Bruce Wayne. Her leather fit-and-flare dress nods to the black rubber of the superhero, while her bold windowpane bustier -paired with slim pants- suggests the power and seductiveness of the playboy billionaire. And the differences don't stop there. She contrast flowing curls with a slicked down hairstyle, free-flying red nails with buttoned-down white and cranberry lips with warm peach. She gets serious Fierce points for putting so much effort into showing the two opposite sides of the character. Great work! Paige has found another leopard-lined jacket to wear for us, this one a black leather moto style. She pairs it quite simply with a black semi-sheer tee and black jeans. The most superhero-y element here is her fingerless gloves. It's her character and the attitude she conveys via her poses that sell these snaps; somehow, I can ttly envision Paige as a superhero...with some anti-hero tendencies :). Can't you? Lastly, I applaud her use of an ice pink lip! It's unusual among the divas in general, but after Paige's love affair with the taupe lip, it's almost shocking to see it on her. A little shock now and then is a good thing :). |
