I’m still not over the high of Wrestlemania week – maybe because I’ve been slaving over pics and collages :) We will have AAALLLL the Wrestlemania fashion for you here over the course of the next few days and we’re kicking it off with a taste of the Hall Of Fame. Last year, we gave all the non-roster ladies their own count-up and this year, since we have a number of ladies participating, we’re keeping the tradition going! The looks ran the gamut from monochrome to brights, fancy to relaxed and we loved seeing all of them. I have to open with my usual caveat: all the ladies looked incredible and every time I do a count-up, I’m always splitting hairs to determine placings! Tiny things make the difference because they have to :). With that said, let’s get to the “who wowed us the most” part! Here goes…

On RAW'S 25th Anniversary, we fans had the fortunate experience of seeing some of our favourite women from the past, some we haven't seen for years, grace our screens once again.....and now, we get to review their fashion :), which is a massive thrill!
Lilian Garcia: The sultry songstress’ look was trademark Lilian, pairing a glittering printed dress with suede OTK boots. This is a combo Lil has plenty of experience with and it shows, as she smartly plays on texture by combining suede with shine. Her long and loose hairstyle adds her customary sense of ease and un-fussiness (did I just make up a word again?) to what could be a fairly fancy look, making it feel accessible, but also formal enough to be respectful to the occasion. Plus, it makes it feel like a party! Shine will do that ;) Nikki & Brie Bella: It's been so long since we've seen both Bella Twins on screen together in a WWE setting, so RAW 25 was definitely a special moment for the Bella Army. Though we all know Nikki can 100% slay in a designer dress and heels, she brought her ring gear out for this night. Rocking her signature snapback, red jersey top and shorts, knee high socks, and sneakers.. this is THE Nikki Bella look we all know and love. Brie Bella walked onto the ramp in style, wearing black high waisted leggings, ankle boots, and a tied up Brie Mode t-shirt. Her accessory of choice? A red flannel tied around her waist... which of course, is classic Brie Bella. Barbie/Kelly Kelly: As per her usual gift for dressing just right for the occasion, Barbie (aka Kelly Kelly) looked every inch the former diva – in fact, she looked like she could step right back into Diva-hood tomorrow without missing a beat. She paired a zippered sequin crop top with cut-off blue denim shorts. She topped the look with a sleek and thoroughly fierce leather motorcycle jacket, tempering the glam with a dose of punk attitude that’s echoed by the wide belt at her waist. She earn props from me for not going over the top with a sequin or crystal belt; this unembellished one makes just the right statement. Barbie finished the look with my favorite piece in the ensemble: sequin pointy ankle booties. I’m heaven! Right there is where she goes from typically fab to street style Queen. They make this outfit! We have the very great pleasure of getting to see some of Lilian's style this FashionHap - an event always worth the wait! She looked sweet and summery in this spaghetti-strap sundress in oh so classic navy. The buckle details at the sides give this piece a special twist...and additional versatility! Lilian's nude pumps make this look lighthearted, it could easily swing to the tough side of chic when paired with fierce black booties (and maybe a moto jacket ;)). Meanwhile, Jojo gets her bright on in this mesmerizing shade of neon melon! This is just the kind of color I gravitate to in the summer. Even though it's daring and attention-getting, it flatters both blondes and brunettes, so don't be shy about trying it out :) Jojo brings out the warm-weather vibe by accenting it with a white floral necklace and white ankle-strap pumps. The florals bring a wonderful softness to the edgy cutouts on the dress for a fab interplay between mod and femme. As a devoted fan of Lana's style, I am very unhappy to have to admit that this dress isn't my favorite of her choices. Somehow, it gives me nightgown vibes, likely a combination of the curved-up-at-the-side hemline, the spaghetti straps, the bodycon style and the print. Two, or even three, of those elements this look could have survived...just not all four together. There are shiny spots too, though! One is her super cute high pony - I just adore this look! Second is her shhooooooooooeeeessss *heart eyes*. These blush strappy sandals are killer and I want to see them again with another outfit! And again! And again! And ag...*Brie is clonked on the head with a rubber penguin and subsides* Now, Lana's next look -from MITB- is back to her usual stellar form. The lace bustier paired with her black sailor-style pencil skirt and topped with a cropped leather jacket is a trademark Lana look, which she rocks. But what reeeeeeeaaallly makes it stand out is her addition of a crystal choker and earrings. They're a touch 90's, a touch right now and a massive lot of glam. Slay me! (Can I get some crystal-studded heels with that, please? :)) It was a reprise of her Raw look, where she debuted a slim, black leather choker instead of the crystal. The look was considerably less glam...but still fabulous! Her next Raw look was this double breasted dress with contrasting trim. The different fabrics add interest to this sheath and I'm really enjoying seeing her experiment with something other than her pencil skirt sets, but which still retains that pristine, icy, temptation that characterizes Lana's style.
We're kicking off this FashionHap with a little MaryseFest! First up is this LBD, which Maryse paired with statement OTK boots. Seriously, these are NOT your everyday OTK's - look at the patterning! That craftmanship adds extra oomph to this classic look. Of course, it's helped along by Maryse's super-sized chain necklace. I love the presence this type of piece has, especially when set against a black-on-black look.
From there, we're heading over to a couple of her TV appearance looks. Maryse has made her return fashion all about statement dusters, set over a curated collection of bodysuits. This black lace-up front one-piece is the under-garment for both of these outfits. The first look incorporates a piece I completely adore: a gray, lace-embellished piece with a wonderful modern-femme vibe that could swing either gothic or boho. In this case, it looks graceful and feminine, but also FIERCE, due to being layered ovr the very right-now bodysuit. Maryse's second duster has a definite glam-rock vibe. Another gray background serves to highlight shiny, patent leather stripes. It has a look-at-me! quality that makes it perfectly at home on a stage...or on a WWE catwalk ;). Maryse finishes both outifts with those killer OTKs, showcasing a skill I have long loved about her: that of re-using pieces, but still keeping them fresh! Her final offering is a surprising one. Worn at meet-n-greets on the Euro tour, this look is comprised of a cardigan layered over plaid pants, topped with a leather biker jacket and finished with knee boots. The plaid pants really made me look twice, as I'm not used to seeing Maryse choose something this busy for daywear. I'm not sure how many more times I'd like to see them, but they work really nicely with this outfit, providing the coordinating print for a complex selection of colors. Her multi-hued scarf does something quite similar in helping to connect all the shades in this look and adds a chic dollop of panache as well. There's a reason I talk about (and Divas' wear) LBD's a LOT; they're nearly always faaaaabulous! So, even though I see a lot of little black dresses, I was immediately caught by this look of Lilian's. It has a similar vibe to the Maryse outfit that kicked off this FH, with a few mini changes: unembellished suede OTKs vs. statement ones and a cross pendant instead of the massive chain necklace. The latter piece lends a bit of a rocker vibe to Lilian's look and works well with the pretty, slightly boatnecked silhouette of her dress. While Maryse's look comes off fashion-forward and chic, Lilian's has a certain rebel-hearted simplicity. Which one speaks to your style soul? The photoshoot drought is still on at Impact it seems, but tiny drop by tiny drop a few pics are starting to leak out. The company seems to be back to it's old fondness for releasing just one snap at a time, which is a bit of a bummer when one is trying to do a photoSHOOT review (note: shoot..we on the same page now, Impact?), but still, it's better than nothing :) #SilverLining.
Hot on the heels of her title shoot, we get a quick snippet from Jade, wearing a gear ensemble with a very unique color combo: daisy yellow and rich plum. Yellow is such a rare color in wrestling gear that I'm always thrilled to see one of the ladies take it on. It also looks like Jade is continuing with the pared-down patterning of her title shoot gear, which is very exciting! With fun, surprising colors set in straightforward, bold pattern her gear could have a ton of..well, ...impact :) (pun intended :D). I'm not exactly sure what the printed square scarf is intended to convey, but it adds an interesting dimension. It will take seeing how utilizes it to tell whether it rocks or less than rocks :). We also get a peek at a new ring outfit from Rebel, who has pulled out some very military style. I always love a woman who can wear a hat well, so that's a point in her favor. This jacket is also a really cool piece, with it's authentic shoulder detailing. She plays the commanding tone of those two pieces against very feminine shorts, crowned by a pink bow. She's resurrected the finger to teeth pose, an old sexy standard. This is quite a solid shot, with the style interplay between authority and sweetness being particularly interesting. Rebel's fashion sense is excellent; I wish Impact would let her turn it loose a bit more! If she were allowed to explore some of these themes less superficially and with a stronger fashion influence, I firmly believe she could create some stellar 'shoots. Maria also gets a mini shoot. Hers gets up close and personal with the gear in which she won the recent ladder match that earned her the title of KO's Commissioner. The idea of the entire KOs division in the hands of Maria definitely thrills me! And now, can we take a moment and talk about those shorts? Holy holy. That silhouette is cheeky indeed! Maria emblazoned it with stars, a fitting tribute to her First Ladyship, as it was obvi she was one pretty much from day one. I LOVE that she chose orange as her opening color: it's fiery and intense! Few divas dare to embrace sucha color, but Maria looks fantasmic in it! She adds touches of black via her crystal-speckled belt and fishnet stockings, which is just enough to ground that scalding hot main color. A couple of months before WrestleMania, Renee was debating outfit choices for the big day on her blog, prettyfunnyblonde.com. One of her thoughts was a chic suit...which turned out to be what she ultimately chose. While she came up with a number of cool options, I really like this particular choice. It's very clean and sophisticated, but still unique, which is something we've come to expect from Renee's varied and often offbeat sense of style. The suit itself is marvelous! This shade of ivory is crisp, without being harsh. The strong shoulder and classic tailoring give it a hint of a menswear vibe, but that color, along with he beautiful, drapey fabric bring out the feminine side as well for a very appealing dynamic. There's a subtle sexiness from the deep-v design, enhanced by her silver lariat (as an aside, ivory and silver is one of my favorite color pairings!). Her polished, refined low bun is a wonderful way to enhance the precision and minimalism of the look. She completely nailed this one!
*Edit: the suit is Elizabeth & James, as confirmed by Renee. It is the (sadly sold out) Morin Shawl Collar blazer. The (on sale at the Outnet) Natalie blazer from Rag & Bone is a sim. Like Renee, Lita tends to put pieces together in a creative way. She was on hand at the Granddaddy Of Them All to reveal the brand new Women's Championship belt. She paired a lace and sequin embellished bodysuit with wide leg pants for a look that, at first glance, came off as a pantsuit due to the monochrome color scheme. No stranger to killer shoe choices (remember the bowed pumps that got us all talking at WM 3 years ago?;) ), she finished the look off with heeled oxford booties. Again, similar to Renee's outfit, this one had a wonderful interplay between masculine (the haberdashery-esque suiting pants and oxfords) and feminine (that gorgeous, glittering lace and the sheer inset). It was appropriately formal, but also professional. So, yes...I'm making it official: Lita slayed again. We also get a tiny peek at Lilian's dress...and I so deeply madly wish we'd gotten a better look at this because I'm pretty sure it's my #1 favorite of all her looks from this WrestleMania. Firstly, the rich grape color is magnificent. Second, while the embroidered/jeweled high neckline reminds me of Jojo's HoF dress, Lilian's then blossoms into more embellishment at the wide waistband. This piece is divine and makes her look like a modern-day Maharajah. I'm in beautiful agony...more, please! WrestleMania week continues ... :p
Eden generally shows us her glam side on tv, so it's fun to get to take a look at her casual style. She wore this bohemian-feeling printed top as she visited 6 Flags with Cody during WM week. She paired it with a laidback pencil skirt and enhanced the chill vibes by finishing it off with caramel leather sandals. I also love her use of a baseball cap! It definitely keeps the outfit low key and, with this flirty outfit, it's a great way to appropriate a little guy style...and keep the sun out of your eyes ;) #WinWin :) She also showed off this printed long sleeve sheath at another WM week event. I like the freshness of this bold print, as well as the fact that it's not something we see from Eden regularly. Meanwhile, Lilian was stunning in this black fit-and-flare dress, which combines a plunge front with a high neck for a bold, mod vibe. The straightforward fierceness is hard to miss! She accented it with a perfectly place - an on point!- crystal pendant. This is a fab look from Lil! I'm imagining clean, classic peeptoe pumps finishing this off. We also got to see Lilian in this sweet, stripey pink strapless dress, which is a complete 180 from the previous look. This has a casual chic to it that is feminine and confident and has a wonderful spring-ready vibe! She gets bonus points for the magnificent pink statement ring, which I ttly adore! I'm thinking nude woven heels or pastel pointy-toe pumps here ;) These two shots are such a wonderful illustration of how Lilian handles two very different looks masterfully; despite the genres being quite disparate, she still looks very much herself. It's an enviable style trait! |
