Keeping up with Impact/GFW/Impact again has been a real challenge lately, as the company spent most of 2017 and early 2018 wrapped up in ownership changes that detrimentally affected personnel and content. During the summer, the Knockouts – hopefully with a steadier roster now! – began to release some photoshoots again. The first, themed “Back To Basics” seems to be a ground floor attempt to take the division back to its most recent high point, 2013 when Christy Hemme was directing the KOs marketing. The presentation includes adjectives with each photo highly reminiscent of the photoshoot that accompanied the opening of the now-defunct WestlingKnockouts.com website. I hope this does indeed herald a renewed beginning for these ladies! In keeping with the theme, the styling is stripped down and simple: denim shorts, tees, girl-next-door vibes. I’m having an inordinate amount of fun with these snaps, likely because we’ve been so starved for shoots on all fronts lately!
Katarina (the lady formerly known as Winter) kicks things off with a black tank and dark denim shorts. She throws some edge into the look by completing it with knee-high scrunch boots with a sexy lace-up back. Her rock-solid poses show her comfort and experience: they’re fierce and sensual at the same time. Allie takes the shoot to a lighter, brighter place: pairing a white tank with medium wash denim. Fringed beige ankle booties give an on-trend Western vibe to her look. She plays around on the bench prop flawlessly, conveying both sweetness and sexiness at once. Tessa chose a black cropped top paired with cut-off dark denim and rounded off the look with fierce pointy ankle booties. Despite the minimalist vibe of her clothing, she manages to channel femme fatale attitude with her unique poses and stunning facials. She gets props for working hard to push the envelope.

We’ve fiiiiinally gotten some new fashion-containing photos from Impact: a trio of snaps highlighting the newest additions to their roster. While I’m sorry to report that Laurel is no longer a Knockout (I really enjoyed her fashion!), I’ thrilled to have Madison back in the line-up. This snap gives us a look at the gold version of her gear and it is a stunning set! The clean lines and simplicity of this iteration, which she’s been using for two years or so, continue to make it powerful and compelling. The highlight is the holographic sheen to the fabric, which gives a futuristic vibe to the ensemble. I love how it keeps the gear – in no matter what color- from feeling flat or done; it’s a flawless touch! I also love the touch of sheer fabric at the shoulders. It adds a hint of sexiness without seeming thirsty – just what you’d expect from a queen of the ring like Maddy! Her dark red hair really pops against this gear set and she looks amazing! Also new to the roster is Tessa Blanchard, a third generation wrestler. Her black and gold gear features a copped halter top and shorts, a combination we’ve seen plenty of, but which suits her very well. The gear has a polished, professional quality that I admire and enjoy. Hopefully, in future, we’ll see her explore some unique detail that will add her own personal touch - in addition to the diamond insignia- to this well-designed attire. Impact’s newest Knockout, Katarina, may look familiar to you – she was previously part of the roster under the name Winter (and previously part of the WWE roster as Katie Lea, back in the early days of my fandom :)). I love that she finally gets to use her real name – it’s so pretty and unique! While she has a new, party-girl persona on-screen, in this snap we see fashion that reminds me of her Winter character in that she’s incorporated lace and a vintage vibe. It’s not quite Winter’s Gothic style, but it has vestiges of it. She paired the sexy, feminine plum blouse with simple black leggings. I’ve always enjoyed what Katarina brings to the table; she always has a creative take and I’m looking forward to seeing where she goes with this new run.
It's time to take a trip down memory lane, Fancies. Ok, very recent memory lane :) We're taking a look back at the trends that dominated, that made 2016 what it was in fashion. The looks that made it fabulous, luxurious and chill. The looks that slayed you and made you crave trying them (or not ;)). And we're paying tribute to the ladies who brought them to life for us! So settle in with a nice caramel macchiatto and relive 2016 :)
Are you ready for a fashion blast? I can not even believe that I have so much catching up to do; would you think that there could be stuff from October I haven’t reviewed yet?! Omg. And we have all the exciting year end things this month too, lovelies. So, hang on to your stilettos because my plan is a giant, whirlwind catch-up which means tooonnnnnnnnsssss of fashion coming your way.
We’ll start it with Gail, who looks fierce and fab in this pretty pink dress, toughened up with a leather moto jacket. She gives it a trendy and casual touch with a scarf twisted at her neck and then ramps up the fierce quotient with mid-calf peeptoe booties. I love how Gail balanced the sweet, feminine of pink with strong, mature accessories. This combo feels confident and polished. She goes from strength to strength, as her next offering is this emerald green gown, chosen for this year’s SkyBall, an American Airlines fundraiser for military families at which her husband was cooking. This piece is a magnificent choice: the lattice-work details make is current and sexy, the sheer insets keep it classy and the color takes it over the top into an absolute smash! It’s an amazing shade on Gail and I hope we see her try more of it soon! Everything about this styling is flawless, including her sideswept hair. It’s so much fun seeing her completely nail a red carpet look! Pink was front and center a lot in October, as Lana reached for some during her trial of plaid. This is an unusual and vibrant variation of the classic and often mellow-colored pattern and it was a surprise to me to see it on Lana. It seems to be a sign of her more laidback tv aesthetic, also suggested by her long and loose hair style. I’m on board with the hair for sure; the jury’s still out on the plaid ;) Mandy made us look twice with this Instagram shot, which paired a sporty cropped v-neck tee, bedecked with black graphic accents, with a leather mini skirt. OTK boots completed the ensemble. There’s a lot that great about this look: the classic color combo, the athletic-meets-fierce vibe, the play on knit vs. smooth texture. Between the deep v and the super-short skirt, though, Mandy’s pushing the sexy on all fronts. It’s a bit too much for my taste; I’d tend toward choosing one or the other, as it’s very easy to get into trashtastic territory when you’re skimming so close to that line. With a knee-length skirt (and shorter boots) or a higher neck cropped top, this look would be more balanced. As ubiquitous as chokers are getting at the moment, I like Mandy’s use of it here; it helps to harmonize the look. How about this killer shot from Emma? She has been tearing it up lately during her time off for an injury, so stick around for a bunch more amazing snaps from her. In the meantime, I am loving this square-studded long-sleeved crop top paired with boy shorts –this is about as sexy as workout wear gets!! Give me studs I promise you, I will get waaaay more serious about gym time! ;) Emma’s pose is slayage overdrive. Her hair is on point. The black-on-black color palette, echoed by her dark nails, has a bring-it-on attitude that’s just flawless (and motivating!) for weights, cardio or what have you. The amazing pic is one of the first teasers of Emma’s makeover into Emmalina, an athletic vixen with a very old-school diva vibe – a blend of sex and athleticism. If this is typical of the style of girlfriend’s new persona, Emmalina’s fashion is going to eclipse Emma’s in no time. One amazing thing about fashion: it’s always there for you. It never lets you down. No matter what’s going on in your life, you can escape to fashion. It can be your solace when times are tough, your way to celebrate when they’re good and your personal form of expression and comfort every day in between. And, we’ve got a special treat today! After a big drought of Knockouts’ fashion, we’ve got a boatload of it to review! So, settle in and enjoy :-)
When Gail was inducted into the Knockouts’ Hall Of Fame, Christy and Taryn were on hand to congratulate her. Gail looked aaaamazing in her coral gown with its daring front slit. I love this color on her, as well as the chic simplicity of this piece. The color and hint of sex appeal bring just enough drama to the look, which she completed with gorgeous metallic gold strappy sandals. Everything about this look is spot on. In the spirit of the Olympics, we have our own gold, silver and bronze to award J. Ours goes to the ladies’ who rocked our lives every time they appeared on our screen, the ones who slayed all day (and all night!) in their fabulous, glorious, so-good–they-couldn’t-help-but-get-us in-ring ensembles. Welcome to the return of Diva-Fierce.com’s Ring Gear Awards!
We’re kicking things off with the Knockouts. It’s taken some concerted efforts to get hold of KO’s pics this year, as things have been getting switched up in the company, but we’re pleased to say we’ve managed it. (Shoutout to all the ladies who have posted IG pics - thank you!) And we have some amazing looks to acknowledge and show mad respect to! And drool over…there’s definitely some drooling happening here. Whose looks made our jaws drop? Ogh..I get so nostalgic going through all these collages! I really can't believe we've had all these amazing years of Diva-Fierce and fashion and awards and memories. All the feels, loves, all the feels!
Since we've moved to the new hosting site, I've been trying to keep the history of Diva-Fierce alive and recorded for newbies to catch up on and goldies to take a hop, skip and a trip down memory lane with. I don't know who here at the site came up with the original concept of the Ring Gear Awards, but it was -and is!- an amazing fit with our nexus of wrestling and fashion; gear is the couture of the ring! And we're the only site to consistently, year after year, give great gear the call-outs and podium placings it so richly deserves, which makes the RGAs a very special and unique part of the Diva-Fierce lexicon. So, let's strap in and take a look ...all the way back to the first days of fierce when we were just a cute, tiny, fledgling website with nothing to our name but passion and a dream :) |
Welcome to the place where wrestling & fashion join hands. Inspiration. Reviews. Musings. Retros. FASHION. Covering and craving gear to gowns since 2011. May the Fierce be with you! ;) Peace & Glitter!
