Inspiration Board: Fall - Christie Hemme

I always have my eye out for outfit inspiration and Knockouts' and Divas' photoshoots are a great place to get ideas! That's not saying that you have to copy what they've done exactly. It's more fun to just play on a riff, to rhapsodize on the premise of what the ladies have done. So, the Inspiration Board will give you a bit of both: the inspirational pic and a season-appropriate ensemble that you can copy or be inspired by in turn.

This shoot of Christie's is one of my favorites. It combined several outfits - just like a magazine 'shoot - and all of them were fab. They ranged from a grunge-homage to the 90's to an 80's inspired rocker ensemble, but perhaps the biggest standout was this 70's-boho look, complete with a studded top, ripped jean shorts and a fur-trimmed vest.  Fall tends to get a bit crisp for shorts and sleeveless-ness to be comfortable, so this outfit can be tipped into the cool-weather-ready category by going with distressed denim - patched is a great look!- and a tribal print poncho. A cute pair of booties (with fringe if possible :)) closes the look, while layered necklaces with free-spirited sensibilities - turquoise, feathers, an Ohm symbol - add a touch of off-the-beaten-path cool.
