After a number of years of androgyny, we're seeing a return to feminine looks this season. I am somewhat surprised to find myself loving it :). For many years, I stayed away from feminine styles because I was always afraid of looking too girly, too delicate. Only in the last year or so have I truly embraced - and found myself completely enchanted by! - beautiful, artistic, graceful details: lace, crochet, frothy tulle. All of a sudden, these fabrics and embellishments are on my radar. I am reveling in the softness, complexity and elegance they bring to fitted suits, nappy flannel and everyday denim. It's like a brand new fashion wonderland! Designers are showing pieces with exquisite detailing that hasn't been front and center in a long while. Often, the embellishments are small - touches of ruffle, or scalloped trim- that don't overwhelm a small frame and create subtle interest on a larger one. When I see nearly every one of my fav places to shop carrying ruffle-accented button-downs, I know it's officially a thing :). Here are a few I just adore:
