If you are ready for spring stat..like yesterday kind of stat, then 1) I'm with ya and 2) indulge your springiness by enjoying Brooke's latest outfit: a cute white cop top, paired with a navy floral pleated mini skirt. There's nothing like florals and spring as a combo. They go together like a hand in a glove, ice cream and apple pie, red soles and Louboutin. Navy and white is also a classic combo - a bit warmer and more nautical (an important trend atm) than the classic black and white. And, like black, it matches pretty much everything. Brooke finishes her look with luggage-colored leather sandals. Shades of brown leather go through fashion phases and this color is presently having its moment. It has an earthy, bohemian vibe that works brilliantly with a number of looks from casual to classic, including a crop-top and printed mini pairing like this one :)
Eden is getting her sparkle on during these gray days. First, there's a simple sheath, made uber-dramatic by the deep, wide V-neck silhouette. This is a trademark Eden look: never fussy, but special! She completes it with pretty bow sandals for a feminine feel. She cranks up the fierce for the next glittering piece: a gorgeous sheath be-sequined in an ombre pattern. Because of the multitude of colors, the simple silhouette - no cutouts or plunge neckline- works to balance the look. Eden wisely let's the dress take center stage, finishing the ensemble with minimal nude platforms. #HowItsDone101 If you've been missing your Maryse lately, miss no more! We are getting to enjoy two looks this FH from the Sexiest of The Sexy courtesy of her birthday on Jan 21st. As usual, she makes them about as different as can be. The first is a boho-tinged empire waist dress in a light airy fabric, perfect for warm spring (there's that word again :) )days! This dress is sweetly seductive with it's can't-miss-it plunge scoopneck. In classic Maryse-style, she completes it with statement jewelry - a glamorous crystal collar- and highlight-reel shoes: gold triple-strap sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti. She goes from color-less to full-on color and mini to maxi in this stunning blue cross-front dress with a delicate tie at the waist. The hue is superb and the flowy fabric makes this gown an eye-catcher! Again, statement jewelry brings impact to her look. No one does go-bold-or-go-home jewelry beter than Maryse! Props to her for two beauuuuuutiful braided hairstyles - a look we don't see explored nearly often enough!- and s/o to the Miz for the photobomb :) We also get an unusual and quirky look from Brie - a very simple A-line dress, paired with lace tights and... boots! This is a combo I probably wouldn't think to combine, but I like how the smooth satin and leather and textural lace play against each other. This is a classic example of how a riskier look can be held together by the use of black. Where a mix of colors could make this look like a hot mess, the sophistication of black elevates it considerably.

It's easy to think about layering as adding jackets and cardi's and long layers on top...but layering also includes long layers under shorter ones. It's something I loooove and do often. Clearly, Renee and Brie agree too :). They're showing off two iterations of the look in a recent Insta pic. Renee has gone playful with a classic white shirt (think oxford-cloth, broadcloth or fine woven cotton) layered under a cropped polka dot sweater. The dots on the top piece pull this classically chic shirt into lighthearted frivolity. Ripped jeans keep things on the less serious side (you could do this with a non-distressed jean too - just go for a slouchy boyfriend style, instead of a slim cut), while pointy-toe pumps add a dash of fierce and make a statement: "Yeah, I like to have fun, but don't forget, I'm still a fashionista!" ;) Renee finished her look with the nude shade of heel she's been favoring lately, but a black heel or a color that echoes one of the polka dot shades would be lovely as well. Brie's look is much more laidback, as she layers a plaid shirt under a graphic "Peace Love Yoga" sweatshirt. Skinny jeans and hiking boots complete her outfit. I love the pop of red underneath the white - this is where layering longer pieces underneath works fabulously because it carries the color through the ensemble, without being overdone. I also love contrasting formal and informal pieces so, while you could replicate Brie's look with a classic plaid blouse and a fun sweatshirt, you could also throw a curveball and do this look with a bright silk shirt- for a touch of drapey formality- and a lace sweatshirt. Full-on lace will work, as will a piece merely accented with lace (or crochet! :) ). Like Brie, I've chosen skinny/slim jeans here for a more polished look and kept the finish casual with hiking boots. The vibe of the tough boot against the soft silk and feminine artistry of the lace is a play that totally rocks my world! Hope it rocks yours too :) Happy styling!
