Emma explored some casual looks before returning to fierceness during her Emmalina era. She and Renee did a twinsies look, pairing distressed blue denim with an Elton John baseball tee. Both ladies completed the look with boots. While I love the classic color combo and the laidback vibe, both of these feel just a bit bland to me. I'd have loved to see a spicy detail - fiercer boots, a half-tucked shirt and a statement belt...just a touch of something. Emma does essentially that in her next outfit, pairing a "love" tee with distressed denim and lace-up booties. I love the extra punch the shoe choice adds! Peyton Royce (at right) stayed simple and minimal with a cropped white tank and skinny denim. Boots finish off her unexciting look. Billie Kay (at left) got more creative with a tied white shirt topping worn denim. She went for strappy sandals as an exclamation point, along with a slim metal collar. Her look is casual, but polished and interesting, primarily due to her unique choice of top and just-right combo of uncomplicated but trendy pieces.
Emma was back to the bikinis in this leaf-print halter two-piece from Show Me Your Mumu. The scale of this print is excellent for her - not too massive and overwhelming, but still bold. The peach-cobalt-mint-emerald color combo is super pretty and fun. The verdant setting really makes it pop, too! Among my favorite shots from the Emmalina era is this next one: a wedgewood blue v-neck bodysuit, paired with the same lace-up booties Emma rocked during her night out with Billie and Peyton. She gets huge props for her dark, smoldering make-up that makes this gorgeous, bright summer scene come alive with fierce, sensual energy. Denim shorts could be added to this look for casual styling, while a sheer maxi skirt would work as a fashion-forward alternative, depending on the event. If said event was such that a sheer-over-bodysuit approach would be frowned upon, a pleated mini skirt would be super cute and bring movement and volume to this sleek bodycon piece.

My apologies to everyone for the long hiatus. I'm sure you've all had moments in life when you just can't keep up with everything. Well, I had one of those . I hope to be back on track now.
WWE celebrated Halloween this year with a very cool idea for a very unusual 'shoot: a noire-themed carnival. The lady superstars didn't dress up as much as they celebrated the haunted spirit of the day. What's fun about that is that is makes the snaps appropriate for times and events beyond Halloween. I also was very pleased to see something other than the sexy, cutesy-ness of so many Halloweens past. Halloween is fun, but viewing it through a more mature, goth-themed, Poe-esque lens is a wonderful variation. Charlotte nailed her turn as a psychic: crystal ball, tarot cards - her props were perfectly on point. I also loved her color choices: mystic purples and entrancing metallic blues. They fit the blue-lit scenes flawlessly. I had just a few wishes for her look: simpler shoes (the print added an extra texture that wasn't a material addition), and the elimination of her pink corset belt and fur jacket. Those two pieces, like the shoes, complicated the look more than was needed. With the props, the layered clothing and her jewelry, there was plenty going on in the 'shoot, especially because Charlotte's stellar poses and gorgeous looks were the crucial aspects to focus on. It would be a shame to downplay them even a little because she gets massive props for the way she embraced this character - her blend of sultriness, mysteriousness and confidence (in herself and taking yours ;)) was brilliant. I'm also a huge fan of these make-up shades on her; the pales mauves and dusky lilacs are amazing - not to mention, fitting of the theme. The flawless fashion was still raging strong as September came to a close. Lana slayed at Olia Zavozina's birthday party in a being knit dress which she paired with patent leather mid-calf boots. She tossed a classic biker jacket over her shoulders, added a choker necklace and, lastly, topped the whole look with a porkpie hat. The porkpie has long been a men's staple piece, but has become a favorite of women as well during the last few decades. It has acquired a definite hipster quality and lends an avant garde vibe to modern looks - as demonstrated here. I love how it gives a quirky twist to Lana's modern pairing. Actually, I love this whole outfit; it's stellar!
Jojo has been wearing a complete catalogue of great dresses lately, but this cherry red wrap piece is a standout! Even though the silhouette is simple, the color gives it a huge pop. My favorite part of her look though is - you guessed it ;) - those shoes! Pumps with lace-up straps and cuff details? I am SO in! What a great choice from Jojo! We also have more looks from the Bellas' promotion efforts for Total Bellas, including this snake-print maxi dress from Brie. A strident print like this is something of a departure for her and, while it's not my favorite, she gets huge props from me for trying something new. The choker looks fab with this v-neckline and her nude-meets-cinnamon make-up palette looks completely gorgeous on her! September is bringing us a whole pastiche of looks, loves - everything from on-trend, to totally fierce to summer throwbacks! There's a little something for everyone, so let's get into it :)
Jojo has been nailing her fashion quite often lately. This outfit from her time in Manila is simple, but fierce, as she finishes off a ribbed playsuit with OTK boots. I really love the chain belt at her waist! This kind of focal-point is all you need to add that exclamation point to an otherwise minimal look. Lana is back to her trademark powersuit, after a lifetime of bridal outfits :). This bright cobalt is just glorious and the satin fabric is luxurious and sexy. She ramps that up by setting a matching lace bustier underneath it. She accessorizes with a spot on-trend choker. I'm also a fan of her high bun; she always looks so chic with her pulled back like this! Maria went a bit vintage with her Impact tv look. This coord set is done in palest blush, giving it a modern-nostalgic vibe. She enhanced that with t-strap pumps and then gave the look a soft glamour by adding what Chanel would have called "ropes of pearls". :) Maria's tv style often focuses on the sexy and glam, but we know from her 'shoots that she is comfortable with a wide variety of style genres. It's fabulous to see her explore some of those looks on tv! Mandy is keeping things all summmery with this cute combo. She paired a sweetheart-necklined bustier in a gorgeous watermelon red with high-waisted denim shorts. The color story is classic and the look is super-sexy! She keeps it on trend by rounding it off with lace-up sandals in a warm beige. Maryse arrived at a recent live event in this white Abyss By Abby dress with a geometric sheer inset at the shoulders. The detail makes this sheath very modern and Maryse runs with that vibe, topping it with a white motorcycle jacket by Zara and finishing it with gray ankle booties from Gucci. In addition to the clean-lined dress, a few particular choices make this look stand out. First is the squared toe design of her booties. With the pointy-toe having been fashion royalty for the last season or two, some new shapes are beginning to pop up. The squared is quite unusual. While I appreciate it's uniqueness, I'm not sure it is my favorite silhouette. How about you? Next, how about that orange lip shade? This hot and rare color functions flawlessly here in adding a real pop to this nearly-monchrome look. Lastly, she contrasts that bright lip and pure white canvas with dark nails, which adds another fun visual twist. Lana's NYC style swung from downtown girl to uptown chic when she dressed for this Reading Celebration. She exchanged her denim and sneakers for this sleek, cutout pantsuit in a sophisticated shade of navy and completed the polished look with strappy sandals. I love the way the black and navy works together, as well as the way her pretty blonde messy braids keep the look casual and down-to-earth. If I were going to split hairs, I think I'd advocate a piece bold gold statement jewelry somehwere...but who needs to split hairs all the time? ;)
Jojo put together a super-cool outfit for the same Reading Celebration, pairing a simple black tee with oversized houndstooth pants in a lovely combo of ivory and almond. I love the way the unusual scale of the houndstooth takes it from classic to graphic and give the outfit it's pop! She topped it all with a cropped black zip jacket - another piece I'm mad for. Every girl needs a casual, fierce jacket like this to pair with...oh, EVERYthing. Jojo finished the look with black ankle booties. I think I would have leaned toward pointy toe leather pumps here, but I like the way the booties make the outfit feel more laidback. Stephanie hopped on the white trend when she visited a New York city-area children's hospital in this simple white sheath. This is the kind of classic look we see often from Stephanie and here, as in many cases, it's just right. A simple, polished statement is classy, professional and stylish. I'd wager she paired this look with black sandals. I could also see adding a scarf to this outfit- it would maintain the same refined feel, while bringing in a touch of color. I tend to gravitate toward that idea when visiting hospitals as they can sometimes feel quite drab to those who are healing. A bit of brightness in an outfit can bring a happy spark. Dana's contribution to the SummerSlam festivities was a visit to a Be A Star rally, where she wore this ribbed sand-colored tunic over black leggings. Although I'd sort of have loved if this was a maxi dress instead of a tunic, this is definitely one of my favorite looks from Dana. I love the chic color combination and the trendy pieces. Her statement necklace brought just the right spike of glamour, along with those fabulous Rockstud pumps (you can always get me with a great pair of shoes! ;)). Her straight, side-parted hair is flawless. This is such a great styling from Dana; it doesn't try too hard and it fits her fashion sense - she owns the look, not the other way around. Loving it! I've made mention - Honorable Mention to be exact :) - of Alexa's super cool gear previously (see our 2016 Ring Gear Awards for details). Her SummerSlam outfit is one more in the line-up of gear that makes us eeee! Black plus something seems to be her current theme and this time around, the "something" turned out to be silver, a ttly fierce match-up for black. that goes double when it's emblazoned with tiny crystals. Oh, and let's not forget the studs at the hems, straps and waists. Basically, Alexa's look is a treasure trove of all things good in gear embellishment. Add to that metal gloves and glitter in her hair and we're just...SLAY US, girl #KneelingInWait. Naomi is next up, attending a Special Olympics basketball game in blue and white plaid leggings with a denim bustier top and a denim vest layer over all. I'm kind of borderline about each element individually, but they work well together and Nay-nay gets props for playing with proportion by layering the longer vest over a high-waisted style of pant. I'm also a fan of how she paired this casual look with boots; they fit the laidback vibe. They're my fave part of the look...along with her neon lime hair color - that's HOT! A triumvirate of divas paid tribute to the Big Apple in a SummerSlam-week photoshoot (yaaay, new shoots!) and I couldn't resist a little #tbt in the title ;) ...Take a moment and hearken back to the days of Lita, Stacy, and Trish killin' it in NYC. Rapturous siiiiiiiigh. ...Ok aaaaand...moving on to some superstars killin' it in NYC right about now.
Lana kicks things off with a metallic golden mini dress. Between the unabashedly confident color and the strong shoulder silhouette, this piece has a distinctively 80's feel to it. The wide waist belt helps it still feel feminine, while Lana's choice to leave the look mainly unadorned (outside of gold hoop earrings (#That80sThingAgain :)) and a hint of brassiere showing at the neckline) helps it to not fall victim to that decade's overblown vibe. Lana also gives the look a modern spin via her gorgeous braids and fierce lace-up heels. I like her choice of white stilettos over black; they feel lighter and more summery, but still have an attitude! As usual, Lana slays the poses. She rocks "socialite", "pop star" and "temptress" as if she was born to do so. Her pinky-peachy-nude make-up palette enhances her natural beauty, without getting in the way of her portrayals. I also applaud the way she used the background in her snaps. She manages to capture the feel of the city, while still finding spaces visually quiet enough to allow her styling to shine. So, it's all over the map in fashion this time around - we have everything from trench coats to bikinis! Yayness :-)
First up is Jojo in a minimalist bright red dress. This piece is vibrant, feminine, classy and - with its' high-neck halter styling - spot on trend, making it exactly what we'd expect from a ring announcer. What really made this outfit pop, though, are those shoes!! Black ankle strap sandals are always going to rock my world, forever and ever and over again...but the mixed media on this pair is a stand-out detail that adds extra va-va-voom to this look! Nattie prepped for her Hawaiian trip in this leather-sleeved Burberry trench coat (thanks to FashionOfTheDivas for the ID). Paired with leggings and peeptoe boots, it makes her look like a super-spy! And honestly, who doesn't want to feel like a super-spy sometimes, right? Nattie's looks are always amazing; she contrasts simple elements so well...and she never forgets that spike of fierce! For those of you who loved and adored Taryn, she is around and chillin' with her bestie, Brooke! While T has re-focused her life, it still makes me happy to "touch base" with her and see that she's doing well! Don't you love her boldly striped bikini? It's so cute! I'm also loving the bright color of Brooke's coral swimsuit. There's just something fitting about gorgeous, saturated color on bright, scorching days! Speaking of which, I also love bright color for the gym; it gets me motivated! Summer paired this bright halter top with capri leggings (big fan of those, too!). Multi-colored sneakers finish this look and the way they blend the outfit is complex and interesting. The neon orange and purple don't match the candy pink in Summer's top, but they balance it out. The similar intensity of the colors and the unique harmony they comprise works quite nicely. Now, that's the way to bring some fire to your gym time! |
