The flawless fashion was still raging strong as September came to a close. Lana slayed at Olia Zavozina's birthday party in a being knit dress which she paired with patent leather mid-calf boots. She tossed a classic biker jacket over her shoulders, added a choker necklace and, lastly, topped the whole look with a porkpie hat. The porkpie has long been a men's staple piece, but has become a favorite of women as well during the last few decades. It has acquired a definite hipster quality and lends an avant garde vibe to modern looks - as demonstrated here. I love how it gives a quirky twist to Lana's modern pairing. Actually, I love this whole outfit; it's stellar! Jojo has been wearing a complete catalogue of great dresses lately, but this cherry red wrap piece is a standout! Even though the silhouette is simple, the color gives it a huge pop. My favorite part of her look though is - you guessed it ;) - those shoes! Pumps with lace-up straps and cuff details? I am SO in! What a great choice from Jojo! We also have more looks from the Bellas' promotion efforts for Total Bellas, including this snake-print maxi dress from Brie. A strident print like this is something of a departure for her and, while it's not my favorite, she gets huge props from me for trying something new. The choker looks fab with this v-neckline and her nude-meets-cinnamon make-up palette looks completely gorgeous on her! Nikki also incorporated a choker; hers was a metal plate version, instead of Brie's delicate cloth piece. She paired it with a very unique pantsuit that had a definite sporty vibe, due, in part, to the mesh overlay fabric and also to the panel effect of the design. The strap-accented front cutout gives the piece a big dose of coquettishness. This is such an unusual take on a jumpsuit! They can often be chic and fierce, but this athletic iteration is seriously cool. I always enjoy when a piece takes us someplace new! I went wild when I saw this shot of Brie reclined in this circular window - it's so unexpected and beautiful! The uncommon setting really helps to set off this look, which is amazing in its own right! Brie paired the Alice and Olivia Katz Sunburst skirt in gold with a simple black spaghetti-strap cami. The silky texture and simplicity of the cami plays so well against the accordion pleats' sharper vibe and the bold metallic coloring. Tucking the cami in defined her waist, helping to ground he volume created by the pleats in the outfit's bottom half, while using a casual, lingerie-like piece made the ensemble both more casual and more intimate (and therefore more accessible). It's a lovely look that could easily be completed with structured chunky-heeled 70's-referencing sandals, au courant minimalist sandals or laidback boots (especially if topped with a leather biker or slouchy velvet jacket). Equally engaging is Brie's plaid shirtdress. The dress itself is casual, but interesting with its waist-tie belt and gorgeous color. Brie really ramps up the effect with her accessories, though: her cage platform sandals (Loubountin's Berlinissimo) add a dose of fierceness, her drop-pendant choker brings in some trendy flair and her porkpie hat gives the look a boho-hipster shading. I really like the way all these disparate elements come together harmonically. I might have gravitated toward a simpler, ultra-modern leather ankle boot like this to reinforce the cool girl vibe. I might. :) But Brie's pairing rocks! Meanwhile, Nikki was slaying a lace coord set that united a halter-style crop top with a midi skirt comprised of lace strata in various shades. I ADORE the shape of her peeptoe pumps...but oh, I wish they had been black! The nude creates a stronger contrast, but a softer finish and this powerful, feminine look would have been grounded by a deeper shade of shoe. Oh well. I can't have everything, can I? ;) I am splitting hairs and Nikki still looks fantastic!
On a completely different geographic plane is Lana's brightly printed sundress that she wore in Dubai. It's lighthearted and playful and sweet - not what you'd expect of our Ravishing Russian if you're only familiar with her in-ring style ;) I love the tie-straps on her dress and the way she accented this look with a mid-height bun - it matches the girl-next-door quality of the dress perfectly! Lana has a wonderful way of telling stories via her outfits...and she is not constrained to any genre, but ranges all over creation. She always has a surprise up her sleeve and that's such a blast! Her next shot is a stunning example - a blonde bombshell reading of the All-American girl. She hits the classic red, white and blue combo with cutoff denim shorts, a cami that doesn't leave a whole lot to the imagination and quirky cherry-printed ankle strap heels. Her pose is a pin-up classic. Set in front of the classic 50's automobile, it's pure flirty Americana magic. (I'm going to be singing Maren Moore's 80s Mercedes any minute now..."feel like a hard-to-get-starlet when I'm driving, turning every head hell I ain't even trying". Now that sounds like Lana, doesn't it? ;) Mandy also does some denim denim for us. She paired hers with turquoise running shorts as she nailed a pose that sexy enough to give Lana's a run for its money. I'm not exactly sure where and when one would have occasion to wear running shorts and a denim button-down - certainly not while running - but the look works quite well for this snap - it's hot as Helsinki!
