And then, there was November :)
Maria made waves in this cobalt sequined dress, embellished with side cutouts for an extra bit of va-va-voom. This is one of those colors I absolutely adore - it looks amazing on everyone, everywhere. My only reservation with this look is the way Maria styled it, with her brassiere visible. It looks a little sloppy to my eye. And while it's acceptable for an entertainment industry event, like Impact, there are a lot of places where it wouldn't be at all appropriate. I'd lean toward going with a less dramatic bra here and letting that gorgeous dress take center stage. We also got a couple of peeks at Rosa's style this month. The first is a simple date night ensemble which combines a sexy off-shoulder lace-top tee from L'Agence with black pants. Her fun wide choker is by Bree Layne. The complex textures of the lace and ruffles bring interest to this monochrome look. Rosa kept her accessories minimal: a silver statement watch does it all, bringing a hint of flash and strength to the outfit. We don't get to see her shoes :'(, but I'm thinking a fierce pair of heels would be just the ticket. Her next offering is a dramatic, modern mesh-detailed top and skirt by Alexander Wang, whose designs tend to be minimal, but avant-garde. For example, while mesh can often be delicate, this open weave is done with wide crosspieces, making the vibe bold and powerful. Rosa plays up that feel with her dark lips. With all the toughness and intensity, I might have liked it if she'd gone with a softer hairstyle, like a braided headband or a low ponytail with tendrils. I really love that she took the risk on a edgy designer like this, though - it's so fab to see! Nikki's look from her visit to the Churchill War Rooms (the basement complex which housed the British government command center from 1939-1945 during World War II) looks to be the same as the one from her earlier photo with Brie. It's worth of seeing twice, though ;) and it's a little clearer here. She paired a black maxi skirt with a stunning lace and chiffon bow blouse (close-up below) by Lurelly. This silk top is utterly magnificent! It boasts elegant puffed sleeves, a frothy sheer bow and a bandeau-detail of French lace. I can see why Nikki loved it; so do I! Dress it up, as Nikki has, with a maxi or tuxedo pants, dress it down with denim: this is a classically feminine piece with modern sultriness that will be chic for decades...at least! The only trick is what to wear underneath. I would probably lean toward a strapless caimsole in nude or black. As if that blouse isn't enough to leave us collectively screaming, Nikki topped the whole ensemble with a burgundy fur stole. This is sophistication at its best. I'm going to go have a freak out moment over there in the corner now. Bye. As promised, a closer look at Steph's outfit is at the far right. This pic really shows off how well it's put together!
I'm completely loving this outfit from Mandy as well! She pairs a white cropped turtleneck with blue jeans, gives it a touch of flash with her Hermes belt and then makes it totally winter appropriate with her faux fur vest. The lightness of this still-wintry color palette, as well as the casual glamour of the styling makes it an instant hit with me! Her make-up is soft and natural and creates a girl-next-door vibe and her high ponytail is super-cute! That's one of my favorite placements for a pony - it's polished, fun and sp pretty! Michelle may not be wrestling any more, but she's clearly kept abreast of fashion trends in a way that would be totally LayCool-approved! She pairs black leggings, which were a fave of hers throughout that era with a slouchy olive sweater, draped off of one shoulder for a sexy vibe. She added an of-the-moment choker to keep the look trendy and finished it with her Louis Vuitton Seduction boots that took the Divas' Fashion Universe by storm back in 2010 when she debuted them. They're proof now that a classic never goes out of style and the zippered details (which allow the boots to switch betwen ankle, knee and OTK height) add a distinctive edgy fierceness to this casually trendy look. The only thing on my wish list is that Michelle ease up on the braids a tad; they're pretty, but in this case look the tiniest bit harsh ..and she's been doing variations of them almost nonstop since April. Maria was also feeling the casual feels in this October snap, where she paired a simple black tee with gray distressed denim. I'm a fan of the unique color choice of her jeans; it makes a fun change-up! She layered a multi-striped shirt over tee for warmth and an unusual way to play with both color and proportion (love that!) and then topped the look with a black leather biker jacket. Finally, she added a big pop of color with red ankle boots! The whole theory of this outfit completely works for me. In practice, I might have leaned toward a solid red, red stripe or red plaid shirt to infuse the color throughout the outfit. But the basic principles work perfectly. (And PS, you could mellow out the drama a touch by going with black boots, if you wanted to create the look without the boldness of red footwear.) OK, so I have so many FashionHaps flying around in my life right now that things are getting a bit dicey in terms of what pics go where, so bear with me on this - I do have a better snap of Stephanie's outfit here and it will be forthcoming in the vey next post. Promise! In the meantime, suffice to say that it's a bell-sleeved top paired with a flared skirt with a side slit. We haven't sen styling like this much from Steph and I completely adore EVERYthing about this pairing. The bell sleeves are beautiful, on-trend and give a goddess-like vibe to this look, while the flared mini skirt bring elements of both power and femininity. I love the way the flared shape balances out the boxy top, defining her waist and creating a wonderful visual shape - just flawless! The only thing that puts a little hiccough in my thrillage is her choice of tan suede boots. They're a bit jarring, especially when I know she has a perfect pair of pointy-toed leather ones in black that she could have employed instead ;).
Maryse has begin to switch her look up from the bodysuit and OTKs which is awesome. There's no reason to get bored with fashion by doing too much of a good thing ;). This foray into different territory involved a red elbow-sleeved dress with a wonderful ballet neckline and a fun interplay of panelling in leather and knit. The tension between those two textures brings an attractive twist to this simple sheath. One caveat: I note that the leather seems to be challenging to design in and wants to pucker a bit, which would make me think that if you're buying a dress like and don't have Maryse's flawless figure, you'll want to be very careful about fit. Maryse finished the look with gooooooorgeous crossed-ankle-strap back leather pumps from Louboutin. Classic black pumps with a bit of a twist are always a welcome addition..to outfits, to closets, to gift boxes.. :) Red also looked right to Renee, as we saw her wear it twice in October. The first outfit paired a trapeze-style halter in a bohemian paisley print with black denim and so-hot-right-now burgundy OTKs. The burgundy top with the matching boots is a dynamite combo and I love the halter styling! It's super important with a flowy top like this to have skinny pants on the bottom, as Renee did, to create definition, so be aware of that when styling looks that include the trapeze silhouette. I'm an even bigger fan of her second look, a fabulous mix of casual and luxe which combines a red silk shirt with a leather moto jacket and black denim. Her leather choker gives this a nice au courant vibe. I'm envisioning this outfit being finished with flat leather ankle booties (or pointy toe pumps for a slightly more elevated look). This jumpsuit is one of my favorite recent looks from Sasha, as it starts to carry her Boss persona into her fashion, blending edginess with cool glam. The single-piece style is sleek and the stud accents give it that bit of attitude I've been hoping for from her. Her pointy black leather pumps finish the look with fierce chic. Her studded sunnies add just the right extra dose of over-the-top drama. It’s hard to resist the autumn vibe of Nikki’s outfit, put together for a visit with friends in CA’s Napa Valley, which also happened to be part of those same friends’ style blog (see the pics and write-up here). She paired this olive romper from Urban Outfitters with the Melaya boot from Vince Camuto in luscious burgundy suede. Her maple leather double-buckle belt cements the casual, modern-Americana vibe, while her wide burgundy choker ties the whole look together by carrying the red tone of her boots upwards. Nikki has a penchant for playing up the sexiness in a look and she does so here in a super fun way: by unbuttoning the romper to create a plunge-front style. This is basically a 101 course in casual chic. Take notes ;). And be sure to check out peacelovestyle.com! The blog has some great fashion ideas. Alicia has long had a killer instinct for statement jackets and she exercised it again here with this dramatic white jacket, accented with metallic gold details and studs. Ogh – this piece is amazing! It’s fit for a rock star, a superstar, a glowing, high-flying celestial body of some kind, for sure! Foxy paired it destroyed denim, a fringed lace-up leather bustier and a statement ring or two. In many cases, the bustier would be a statement piece on its own and you might think that it would compete with the jacket…but it doesn’t – evidence again of Foxy’s brilliant ability to mix daring pieces with competence and aplomb. The simple color scheme and the difference in style – though both pieces are bold, the jacket is bold via complexity and detail, while th bustier is bold via strong, clean lines and movement – allows her to air these with casual panache. All hail Foxy Fierce! Lana’s Other Versions Of You project provided us with some very different takes on her style, which I really enjoyed. Suddenly, there were printed tie blouses and polka dots – oh my! She paired the former (and ps, I love that shade of yellow!) with a pencil skirt, ankle socks and the lace sneakers which made such a fun statement in this Inspiration Board look. I love the retro-smarty vibe of this pairing – it’s so unusual for Lana and gives me Red-era Taylor Swift feels (never a bad thing). She takes the same theme into hipster territory with her next offering, a polka dot blouse paired with pinstriped overalls. The polish of the pinstripes elevates the casual silhouette of the overalls, making this outfit stylish in an offbeat, quirky way. It’s an unexpected combo that totally works, which thrills me to the bone! Also, can’t you totally see Renee wearing a look like this? She then switches up to a black monochrome look that would be perfectly at home behind the scenes of pretty much any major fashion photoshoot: black jeans, black tee, black ski cap. It’s practically a BTS uniform – for the same reason that Lana went with it here: it’s practical, casual, comfortable and stylish. It’s only flaw is that it’s not especially interesting, something Lana worked at remedying with her wide, black choker. It definitely helps! She completed the look with black high top sneakers (read: practical, casual, comfortable, stylish). Charlotte wasn’t the only one who broke out some new gear for Hell In A Cell. Sasha debuted a variation on her trademark ringwear silhouette which paired camo with red. Camo can be hard to coordinate with, as it’s traditional tones are quite dusty, yet the pattern is busy. The red adds a big spark to the muted colors and gets full marks form me for being a unique combo. I like the subtle metallic flash of the silver piping, although I wonder if bronze might have helped to unite the red and the camo a little better. Overall, I think the pairing works quite well – it’s different and attractive, doesn’t fall victim to being wither too complex or too bland. Nice choice, Sash!
Dana hit a huuuuge high note with this look; it’s easily my favorite ring gear look from her ever! The halter shape looks aaaaaafreakingmazing on her, the scrollwork is really beautiful and adds an artistic flourish to the gear. The sheer inset, crossed with crystal-embellished straps adds just the right touch of au courant sexiness, while the additional sprinklings of sparklers on the black background ramp up the glam factor. The strappy side-slits on her pants echo botht the design of her top and it’s sultry flavor, while the chevron-to-chevron design of her top and pants-waistband works precisely how it’s intended to. Lastly, she ditched the cropped legging hemline and went for full-length pants, which lengthened the line of the gear and made for a smooth transition to her boots, elongating her legs. So much “yes!” on that! Synopsis: this gear to totally FLAWLESS. Awesome job! Post HIAC, Charlotte was playing with texture in this black monochrome look where she paired a leather-look top with a moto jacket, structured denim and luxe suede. The mix of smooth and lush brings a nice dose of visual interest to an ensemble that’s simple in terms of its color story. I wouldn’t have minded seeing her add a little pop via a bright lip, or drama with a darker one, but this soft pink one works and her side French braids are so pretty! If you’re needing a bikini fix here in the middle of the cold and snow, the ladies of WWE have been happy to oblige! Emma was smoldering in this strappy white number with its chevron front. The poolside setting did nothing but enhance the pristine beauty of her pose. Her dark nail brought a touch of edge to the shot which added a nice balance to the overall softness of the styling. This glamorous new Emma is totally gorge!
Mandy took a different approach to her equally summer-y shot. Her sun-kissed-beach setting was brightened by this neon bikini in a stunning shade of orange, popped with lime trim. I love bright colors for bikinis; this is exactly the kind of color combo I’d gravitate to. Consequently, I love it on Mandy. We’ve seen on Summer what an amazing color orange is for blondes and Mandy reinforces the conclusion. With her sunnies and sexy stance, she nails “beach babe”! On a more muted note was Lana’s warm sage choice. While the top is fairly standard, there seems to be a fun sheer detail at her hips, which adds an intriguing touch to a set that otherwise is unusual only for its color. I love how Lana went with bronzy, earth tones for her make-up palette; they complement the shade of her suit so well! Her hair is beautiful here as well – long and loose, with hints of salt-born waves, and pulled back just enough to stay out of her eyes when the wind blows. It’s beach flawless! The background of this snap – a retreating cavern that adds wonderful depth – is a highlight as well! She switches from intense, styled sexy to casual, breezy girl-next-door beauty with this make-up free snap. There, she paired a striped string top with simple navy bottoms. The look is breezy, classic and the shot feels laidback and “in the moment”. It’s an about face from her previous shot, but Lana looks just as stunning! |
