So, we ttly loved and adored WWE's recent bikini-laden gallery of hot bodies. Truly, we did. In addition to bikinis, though, warm days and sunshine get us thinking about muscles and fitness and sweating and all that sexy stuff ;). And we thought that maybe a more inspirational gallery was in order. We envisioned something that appealed not just to our aesthetic appreciation, but also to our sense of goal-setting and challenge, something that reminds us that a little hard work can bring us that keister-kicking attitude we've always craved and get high on when we hit the gym. To that end, we collected our own gallery, which focuses on the lady superstars in their down and dirty moments - the ones where they don't just *look* hot, but actually *get* hot. These selections are all about the sneakers and sports bras. ...Ok, I think one pair of stilettos snuck in (how did that happen? *innocent face*). If it involved sweat, boxing gloves, taping up, stretching out or pumping iron, we snagged it, including a couple of TapOut 'shoot shots from Charlotte and Alicia (and, um...are there any mooooore of those, Mr. Styles?). We even scrounged up a shot from the Silver Snap Award winning buddy 'shoot from Natalya and Beth Phoenix from a couple years ago. Remember that one? So much love for that simple, fab set!

WWE is whetting your appetite for summer with a gallery of the hottest superstar bodies on its roster. As it is has for the last few years, The Co., has used a collection of past photos (with a very, extra, super fine sprinkling of new ones :'(). The days of Summer Skin ( a multi-week release of 'shoot sets...literal *sets* from nearly every lady on the roster) seem to be a thing of the past. Oh, the nostalgia! All the feels, y'all. It was serious inspiration galore. I remember checking daily for releases, hanging on each new one. Le sigh. In a happier spin, however, we can re-live these scalding shots past in this gallery. There are reminders of favorite looks from Barbie/Kelly (that purple set is amazeballs), Maryse (don't you adore glittered bikinis?!), Michelle McCool (daw...she looks so fresh-faced and All-American girl!), Christy Hemme (just...HOT!) and Eve (I always loved her willingness to try unusual prints and colors with her swimwear), as well as some shots from the Bellas, Eva Marie and Charlotte (a scorching TapOut shot...stay tuned for something special from Diva-Fierce which is tangentially related to that shot). Also included are awesome TBT's with Lita (gorgeous+bada$$ - does it get any better?), Stacy Keibler (lllllleeeeeeggggs. The end.) and Trish Stratus (omg I LOVE that yellow bikini!). If this gallery doesn't get you ready for bikinis and beaches and humidity and icy drinks, you may want to check your blood pressure ;). Lastly, I never realized how great a penchant WWE has for beach/bikini pics in front of rocks...but clearly, the evidence is before us :). It's amazing what you can get out of these galleries! So, head over to the .com and enjoy this one.
Mon night is one of fashion's big events: The Met Gala! It's held in conjunction with the Met Costume Institute's Fashion exhibit and is always a place and time where new directions for fashion begin. Each year has a theme and attendees are encouraged to dress in accordance with it. Past themes have included "Punk", the work of Elsa Schiaparelli (the contemporary and rival of Coco Chanel), and "American Woman". Watching the red carpet is a great way to get an insight on fashion's mood and where it's going to turn it's head next! This year's theme is Manus x Machina: Fashion In The Age Of Technology. That kind of title makes me think of very industrial, space-age kind of pieces - a bit grunge, a hint of goth, and lots of dark, rich colors, but especially fabrics with shine, or holographic textures. I can also picture a nod to the futuristic 80's, with strong shoulder silhouettes and defined waists. Metal and hardware are part of my vision as well: chains, studs, buckles...all three :) The Divas and KOs have had a number of moments that incorporate these themes. Most recent was Lana's fabulous trench from WrestleMania, but there's also Michelle's infamous trash bag dress and Lita's chain mail bikini. Velvet's leather, buckle-embellished corset feels right, as does Maria's super-studded strappy top (a favorite among many Divas several years ago) and studded belt and Kelly's lame' maillot. What do you think...will "Fashion In The Age Of Technology" mean industrial-inspired fashion? Or will it be about complexity, utilizing sophisticated stitching and piecing techniques and intricate prints and patterns that can only be created via technological advances? Or will it be about fashion's role in this technological age -one where style is about the antidote to all the electronica that surrounds us, and shifts into a more restful, grounding, bohemian basics era? Speak out in the comments! :)
If you're a fan of diva-fierce, you know I've never made any secret of my love of yellow :). And ever since Taylor Swift appeared in the glorious mustard yellow gown in the Wildest Dreams video, my chief style ambition has been to acquire something similar. Kate Hudson's yellow dress in How To Lose A Guy in Ten Days put me into a similar frenzy lol. While I would (and do!) wear yellow any ol' time I get the chance, it seems to me that spring and summer are the most perfect times to try out this vibrant, glowing color. The Divas and Knockouts have given it a go on numerous occasions, with great success. Yellow carries a similar intensity to bright red, so it comes with similar tips and caveats: keep the accessories a bit minimal (one statement necklace, as opposed to a sea of crystal), neutrals or a single contrast color for pairings. A number of stores seem to carry yellow items in drab brown-tinged and greenish-leaning shades (looking at you, Free People), but I think those tones are difficult to wear. The cleaner, less dusty shades lend themselves to easier pairings.
We're getting into the holiday spirit this FashionHap by starting off with a pair of burgundy looks.
Eden kicks it off with an on-trend sweater dress in a lovely, warm wine shade. This is a color I adore all winter: it's festive, flattering and looks amazing with any neutral, as well as with bright blues and true reds. Sweater dresses were 70's staples, hence they're rediscovered popularity. I give Eden props for the tights - it's a classic look we don't see much from the Divas and KOs and it makes a shorter dress much more comfortable on cooler days! We don't get a look at her shoes here, but I'm envisioning pointy-toe pumps...in suede :) This is a standout look from Charlotte: the fit-and-flare (perhaps we should now call it the fit-and-Flair silhouette? ;) ) is FLAWLESS for her and my past-top-of-the-charts fave. (Wishlist: that she'd do a version of her gear like this!!) The studs on her( super-hot-rn! leather top are tasteful and add some spice to the piece, while her deep red jeans bring a pretty flash of color. The basic theme of the ensemble is dark, but much more fun! Suede OTK boots finish her look off, making it powerful and , while the play of texture between suede and leather adds an intriguing contrast. Absolutely fabulous styling here! Jojo caught our eyes in this wonderful gray A-line dress. Her style can sometimes get too cutesy for her youthful look. This piece is simpler, a bit more mature and consequently chic, without looking at all too old for her. It's a fantastic choice! She styled simply with a bead bracelet and understated locket. Her rose-burgundy lip shade adds a soft hint of color and brings precisely the required pop. I would love a playful, fun shoe here, something Sophia Webster or Charlotte Olympia, that lets Jojo's personality shine. Diva-Fierce.com was born in Sept 2011. That December, we began a special, site-exclusive tradition of collaboratively picking the best Diva and best Knockout shoot of the year. We' d choose the nom's; you'd vote for the one you loved best. Sadly, the noms for 2011 (and 2014, although the winners are here) are lost in the mists of time and hard drive-switches, although I do remember Tara winning the KO's crown for 2011 with her scalding hot motorcycle shoot (talk about unforgettable :) and I'm pretty sure Kelly/Barbie took it for the Divas with her Holly Golightly-esque purple dress shoot). However, since I have a semi-compulsion to save a lot of stuff (yeah I need to work on that), you can take a trip down memory lane courtesy of my OCD and relive all the great moments of yesteryear..the glitter, the leather, the hot poses. So, ditch the stilettos and put on your traipsing shoes ;)
We've been missing a lot of FashionHaps while we've been busy being grateful (Sorry, it's a shade diff since there's just the one of me :)). Over the next week, we'll be catching up on ALL of them. So consider this a morsel, a taste, a fashion hors d'oeuvres!
Christy Hemme is back, baby! And it is sooo good! She's showing off a bodycon version of the classic LBD. This version gets a sexy vibe from its sheer sleeves. And Christy also brings in a touch of an industrial feel with her black sandals. the chunky straps make them super-powerful and the big buckle lends that techno cool. This blend of vamp+fierce is one of her style hallmarks, and well worth emulating. It's also a great example of the black monochrome look we highlighted in our Inspiration Board earlier this fall ;). We go from fierce to laid-back with this look from Lana, culled from her European trip last month. She's paired a cute sweater with a retro (turtleneck+cropped) feel with gray skinny jeans. I'm a massive fan of her mid-calf boots (more on that later :) ). The curved tops give these a nudge into Western homage, without being overtly cowboy-esque. The whole outfit is fab way to be stylish and totally comfy at the same time! If you want to wear this look someplace where showing skin isn't appropriate, just layer a longer-than-the-sweater slim-fitting tee underneath and presto! You're good to go :) |
Welcome to the place where wrestling & fashion join hands. Inspiration. Reviews. Musings. Retros. FASHION. Covering and craving gear to gowns since 2011. May the Fierce be with you! ;) Peace & Glitter!
