Since the Big Dub doesn't seem to be in a massive hurry to satiate our desire for some New Freakin' 'Shoots already, we're going to work on that ourselves. Nothing like taking some initiative ;) We're taking a look back at the style of a fashionista we haven't heard much from in awhile, Eve. It's not that she hasn't been busy, though. She's gotten married, started a family, become a spokesperson for Women Empowered and remained an Ambassador for WWE. She was a style star when she was with the company full-time, though (and a stellar role model for the straighter, athletic-figured among us). So, it was a challenge to narrow down her Top 5 'Shoots. She could smoothly change her look from soft and sexy to polished and cool to an occasional just-Eve-from-the-block gritty-glam moment. Which of all these made the top of our list? Keep reading... Eve reminds me of a f#5: Sunny Eve was never afraid to experiment with bright and unusual colors, like this sunshine yellow! Isn't it fabulous, done in a sex, summery pair of shorts? She matched it classically: with denim, always a great combination with yellow, and then gave it some extra pop with mirror metallic sandals. Pale lips and navy eyeshadow completed the look. In addition to the happy, fun fashion. Eve worked the chair in this set of snaps, exploring some new poses and making the prop work in her favor. Perhaps more than any other, this shoot typified her sun-kissed, California girl style. #4: In The Light There were a few years in fashion where ruching was The. RAGE. And for good reason - it's beautiful, sexy and one of the most forgiving styles ever devised. For her in The Light shoot, Eve chose this form-fitting dress in a gorgeous shade of bright raspeberry. The color alone is stunning, but she accented it with fierce pin-straight hair that gives it a powerful, city-chic vibe. This set of snaps uses a standard, simple background, but brings the added touch of dramatic angled lighting that creates deeper contrasts between brightness and shadows. It lends an air of night-time mystery to this minimalist, but incredibly beautiful set. #3 Smackdown Stunner This is not only one of my all-time favorite Eve shoots, it's one of my all-time favorite shoots. Ever. Period. Hands down. Eve reminds me of a flamenco dancer in this shoot - she brings that kind of sultry, confident attitude. And her pairing of a slim tank with an utterly fabulous handkerchief-hemlined plaid skirt (seriously, how amaaaaaazing is that skirt? It's super fun and timeless!) doesn't hurt either ;). The black+white combo pops off the warm neutrals of the setting. A few pieces of statement jewelry and classy slingback heels complete the fashion. The final piece of fabulosity is her magnificent high ponytail. It's not a style we saw from her often, which is unfortunate because it is crazy gorgeous...and definitely I look I keep on my inspiration board to emulate. Oh the top 2...these two were so close in my book that you could reverse their order with equal justification. But, in the end:
#2: Body Movement This smoking hot shoot carried an extra shot of shock value to it, because this aggressive, sporty, sex-on-fire kind of vibe was completely unexpected from Eve, who usually preferred subtle seduction. Open-weave bikini bottoms, a black sports bra, a corset and piles of hematite jewelry made this shoot unforgettable. Oh yeah AND those FIERCE peeptoe booties :). Eve added to the killer fashion with of-the-moment and scalding hot poses. She brought some softness to this relentlessly ferocious set with her flowy banana curls and pale pink lips, but the shining, standout quality of this set of snaps was its intense, raw, driven risqué strength. #1: Woman Empowered This shoot rocked out world for so many reasons. First up: the dress! Ivory with color-blocked black accents, touches of leather, a sprinkling of studs, a frontal chain detail - this piece demonstrated the same quality of fierceness as the Body Movement shoot. However, it also carried a softness that felt like trademark Eve. More delicate, but still bold, jewelry, blown-out, breezy hair and her favorite slingbacks (I love that Eve would re-use pieces in her shoots!) enhanced that vibe. In addition to a bunch of classic stances, and some never-bettered sitting poses, Eve really worked her head angles in this shoot, making the most of her whippy hair and conveying the impression of a lot of movement beautifully. Watching her delve so much into that particular aspect of posing was unique and really cool. Lastly, her nude eye shades and super-pale peach-nude lips were a standout feature of the look of this photo set, creating a dreamy, romantic counterpoint to the bold fashion. All together, it makes for one memorable photoshoot!
