Cathy kicked off August with a fun pairing that’s deceptively complicated. It’s a stripe-on-stripe combo, created via the wide panel-like sections of denim that form her skirt. Melding different types of stripes in a single look can be tricky, but the difference in widths is unified by the shared vertical direction, making this ensemble very successful. I love how it invites you to think about it in a more in-depth way! I also love the trendy nod of the double-buckle she added. The defined waist and additional flash add just right amount of silhouette and spark. We don’t get to see her shoes, but black ankle booties would be my pick. Next up is a romper that, naturally, I love :). The color alone is pretty much all I need to see, but the lace details make this piece extra special. I’d lean toward nude ankle strap sandals as a finish to dress it up or white sneakers for a more relaxed styling. I’m also going wild over the fact that Cathy styled her hair in a half up-do! Woohoo! :). She’s a huge fan of the simple center part, but I love seeing something different now and again and this looks completely stunning on her! She gives us an Americana vibe with her next look, a red and white striped coord set that she completed with simple white sneakers. The whole outfit is simple, laidback and super cute! She was still all about the stripes at SummerSlam-time, sporting this knit dress with an interesting knot-front detail. Cathy kept the styling thoroughly minimal: no statement earrings, not even a tiny pendant. The entire statement comes from the dress, creating an edited, carefree vibe that’s perfect for summer. As with her previous cood set, this outfit is made to be completed with white sneakers, just like the one sin her next outfit, a floral-printed romper. We often see Cathy in bright, intense colors; they tend to work flawlessly for her and this piece is no exception. She kept her center part, but styled her hair in a low pony, which fits the laidback, sneaker-finished styling nicely. That being said, with all the sneakers we’ve seen from her, I wouldn’t have minded seeing her go with a pair of pointed black flats here, just to switch things up a little. For the WWE 2K17 release red carpet, she upped the ante, combining a floral printed cropped top with leather leggings for a statement of beauty, punctuated by attitude. There’s a stark contrast between the lightness of her top and the dark solidity of her pants, so I’m really glad she chose to complete the look with light-colored sandals – they help to tie everything together. The fact that their sequined just makes me love them more :). She switches genre again with these Second Skin overalls, going for all-black moto/punk style that make my world spin…and reminds me of a pants-version of the looks Selena Gomez wore to the 2017 American Music Awards red carpet (shoutout @ Selena’s Closet - if you're even a halfway fan of her style, you *must* check out the blog!. Also, those floral-studded pumps tho! Oh, my fashion heart!). Instead of black and studded, Cathy completed her look with flame red sandal-booties – a nearly equal injection of fierce that appreciably sates my lust for fabulosity. A sleek low pony is in perfectly I keeping with the streamlined, edgy vibe. For NXT Takeover in Brooklyn, it was a gray mockneck dress with a front cutout that caught Cathy’s fancy. I love how this piece combines the 60’s vibe of the mockneck with the modern feel of the cutout. Ankle strap sandals again round out this simple-with-a-twist, chic look. Americana returns for this end of summer snaps, as Cathy pairs a star-printed navy off-shoulder top with high-waisted denim. My favorite detail in this look is the slim caramel studded belt that she added. It’s one of those slightly off-beat, contrasting details that give an outfit personality and energy and make it more intriguing. As with her earlier mixed-stripe ensemble, you don’t notice it with a quick, casual glance; it becomes apparent as you study the outfit, like studying a piece of art. The details take on weight and meaning and give the presentation shades, depth and intention. She reiterates the star motif with her leather backpack –such a fun accompaniment!
Charlotte was polished and professional in this snap from her time in China. She took on the oversize trend with a boyfriend-style blazer set a top a tied-front ivory blouse and skinny jeans. I’m 100% in for her choice to go slim on bottom – it helps balance the slouchy proportions of the blazer. I might have preferred a slimmer-fit blouse, as well. Strappy sandals finish the look.
