Soooooo believe it or not, this is the last of the Catch-ups. I'm sort of in shock myself..kinda felt like I'd never get through it all :). Nikki kicks off the ending with a bright royal blue iteration of the Self Portrait lace dress we've previously seen her wear in white. I like the piece just as much in this shade! The gorgeous lace is feminine and lighthearted, perfect as a sundress when styled with neutral wedge sandals, as Nikki as here, or as a fancier piece when done with pointy pumps or more formal sandals, as we've seen her do in the past. Next up is a super-cute pairing that infuses the best of now with some trademark Nikki stylings. She paired a sleeveless lace peplum blouse with a modern-vintage aesthetic with black skinny jeans. The black ribbon at her neck makes a fun way to connect her top and pants. While Nikki has used it like a necklace, with a loose knot, it could also be done in a bow to up the throwback vibe. Red pointy pumps add that dash of Nikki-esque spice and really pop the look. I wouldn't have minded seeing her carry that color upward with a bright lip. This polka dotted mermaid midi skirt gave me immediate #tbt vibes to the Bella's late 2013 50's pin-up era withere they were all about the high waists, polka dots and hair scarf bows. Nikki keeps the look a little more polished here, pairing the skirt with a simple black scoopneck top and a slim gold choker. A burgundy and gold chain-strap purse adds a bit of modern attitude and brings in her trademark shot of red. She continues her black-and-white streak by pairing this minimalist ruffled sheath with simple black ankle-strap heels and a black tote for Bridal Fashion Week. I love the pristine, edited feeling of this look - it acts as a palate-cleanser after all the lace, pleats and other embellishments we've seen lately. Sometimes, the plainest ensemble has the strongest impact! Her trusty Prada boots are back in evidence with yet another look, this time a super-chill long-sleeved sheath dress from Veronica Beard. The bold presence of the ankle boots injects some attitude into this relaxed look. I'm still loving the chain handle on her bag, although I would have loved if she's gone for a chocolate, nude or mixed-browns hued one to tie in with her shoes. She's back to more complexity with her next look, a fun reprisal of the olive Self-Portrait skirt we saw her wear at the SXSW event. I prefer this styling, as I really love the way the smooth, bodycon fit of the top plays against the intricate details of the skirt, compared to the bulkier feel of the knotted white blouse. The delicacy of the lace also makes a wonderful foil for the bold buttons. The whole look has an appealing blend of vintage-meets-modern. She completed the look with suede wedge OTK boots and a wide black choker, which gave the outfit just the right dose of fierce. We finish our run of Nikki's looks with another slipdress, this one a blush-nude piece from Planet Blue World. She jazzed the simple dress up with a selection of necklaces, including a choker and several delicate chains. The most interesting accessory, though, is her light-hearted Stella McCartney purse. It's the Superhero Snake Effect bag, which draw inspiration from robots for its shape and comes in several color options. Nikki's selection of the neon pink was a flawless way to reference her dress color, without being overly matchy. McCartney's brand has a modern and envelope-pushing design aesthetic which makes it trickier to style, but a bag is often a safer option when attempting a quirkier brand and Nikki utilizes this excellently. It's really fun to see her branching out and including more unusual designers in her repertoire! I have been a fan of Sasha's gear pretty much from the get-go, but this combo...ogh SLAY me! The multi-color piping and crystals? That amazing purple background? The touches of coral? There's so much color and vibrancy, and yet it's all so cohesive and well-harmonized! What an utterly fantastic job! This is how you do multitudes of colors! Tons of impact and insanely fun! This might be my favorite yet and we haven't even gotten to her jacket! That is more love coming from me! It looks luxurious and slightly zany - like something Lagerfeld would create, but there's still enough black fabric to ground it. The impact of all that incredible embellishment is enhanced by that, allowing the jewels to really be appreciated and savored. We've seen Sasha wear it before, but it looks especially jaw-dropping here, where the many hues of the jewels and the gear complement each other exquisitely well. The cropped, slightly boxy shape is right in step with where fashion's head it these days. This is one of those truly special piece of ring gear that is killer on the entrance ramp, but would also look perfectly at home atop a white tank and a pair of blue jeans. (Oooh! Photoshoot idea? :))
Summer made a basic tee and jeans combo into something much more interesting by choosing apiece with an asymmetrical hemline. I'm surprised at how much I like this rich olive shade on her, too! I wouldn't have thought tot choose it, but it looks super gorge! I approve the choice of blue jeans over black, for the way they lighten the look and throw the proportions into sharper relief. She completed the look with leather OTKs. For warmer weather, she could ditch the black underlayer and show a sexy hint of skin and swap out the boots for black sandals. Her next look pairs a tube top with a matching corset with a suede pencil skirt. I love the hint of shimmer in the patterning of her top, as well as this unusual color choice. I do wish she had added a bit of a spark to these earth tones with her lip shade. A warm coral would be just the ticket here! TBP had an informal reunion as Angelina and Velvet got together during April. We saw quite a formal side of Angie as she donned this black and white party dress, embellished with black crystals. The one-shoulder style is spot on-trend and I love the way she updated the look with a choker, making it feel more right now than 2010. I could have gotten on board with a single-soled sandals as well, but this ensemble works beautifully with her new honey-blonde hair shade. Her rose lip makes a lovely soft accompaniment. Velvet's space-dyed coord set gets an added boost from the broad "love" banding at the bodice and waist. The modern, urbanity of this piece is fab and, of course, Velvet's rock hard abs make it look that much more so! I would have loved to see her hop on the athleisure trend and style this with a sneaker..even though it wouldn't have given us nearly as good a way to enjoy her killer legs. Tough choices, loves, tough choices ;) I'm super thrilled to see both of the ladies any which way; it's been too long since we've had some TBP style!
