If you are a lover of Nikki's fashion, stick around 'cuz we have a treat in store for you! Strap in for a whole run of Nikki Catch-ups! She kicks it off appropriately in olive, visiting Navy personnel in Anacostia. I love the casual cool of this look, which pairs a deep scoop-neck tee with a coordinating set of olive jeans and a cropped olive denim jacket. This was in the throes of the choker-rage, so she added a slim one which looked fab, coordinating with her top and the breezily fierce vibe of her leather OTKs. It's so nice to see leather boots! I feel like we saw suede or velvet all year! A camo beanie added rounded off the look with an appropriate fabric and a bit of warmth and panache! Next up is a BTS snap from a photoshoot for her friend's fashion blog, peacelovestyle. If Nikki can't do her own fashion blog, this is for sure the next best thing on my wishlist! Note: both Bella Twins make frequent cameo appearances there, so check out the blog for some extra shots of Bella fashion. Nikki's dramatic lace and tulle dress is by Jonathan Simkhai and it's an amazing choice for Nikki. It suits her sense of showmanship and seductiveness without showing too much. The sultriness is all in whispers and hints, while the colors and fabrics speak at full volume. When you say "tulle and lace", it sounds like some frilly thing, right? And this dress is anything but! Because of the colors and the bold guipure lace, the piece is both intricate and powerful - a stirring combination! She finished it by highlighting the red tones with scarlet pointy pumps. After that masterpiece, she gave us a look in black and blue, pairing a Victorian-inspired high-neck top (the Jenny by Alice & Olivia [id by fashionofthedivas] - which boasted a velvet bodice and lace three-quarter sleeves - with a cobalt lace midi skirt with sheer insets. I love the way the ideas of sheer and lace and lace are explored here: the sheer panels and lined lace in the skirt complement the sheer lace in the top wonderfully. She completed the vintage-tinged look with modern details: crystal statement earrings, suede OTK boots and oversize sunnies. Noteworthy: the way the pink tones in her nail and lip shades enhance the pink rims of her sunglasses, creating a subtle pink-meets-deep blue harmony. Next up is a floral halter dress. The lighting makes it difficult to tell if the background of the print is olive or gray. I'm leaning toward gray, as the olive comes off a touch heavy behind this whispy floral. The lower-cut back adds some intrigue to the easy beauty of this piece. I'm a fan of the way Nikki enhanced the way the halter shape highlights her shoulders (and kept the neckline from looking too crowded!) with her pulled-together pony. From there, it was on to sultry black-on-black, as Nikki set a sheer lace bodysuit over a black brassiere, with black side lace-up jeans (these may be the True Religion version, but don't quote me on that yet ;)). While I will never (ever) be sold on the sheer-over-brassiere look, as I feel undergarments aren't meant to be flaunted, I really like the way Nikki has tempered the femininity of her bodysuit with the tougher edge of her pants. I find the contrast appealing and note that it would be equally so with a nude cami below, or a bralette-style top set between the bodysuit and the brassiere.
Nikki turned to one of her favorite brands, Alice and Olivia for her outfit for this January speaking engagement. I'm a huge fan of this stunning and soft blush and ivory combo that includes the brand's Rowan blouse, Paulette pant and Francisca blazer (ID's by fashionofthedivas]. In addition to the gorgeous color pairing, She gets massive props from me for the appropriateness of her outfit choice - this kind of polished, professional ensemble is precisely right for an event speaker. My only tiny nitpick is the slight gapping going on with her blouse, which is a common blouse issue for curvy ladies. The best solution is to buy up one size (making sure that the shoulders still fit correctly) and having a tailor taper the waist and shorten the sleeves as needed. For a lady on the go, like Nikki, who probably doesn't have time to swing by a tailor amidst all her travels, fashion tape or a color-matched safety pin at the crucial point could be helpful. She completed this light look in flawless fashion via nude platforms. Nikki gave us a glimpse at another of her many (MANY!) talents, posting this Instagram shot of her playing the piano. How glamorous does she look tinkling at the keys with glass of red wine in hand? Seriously #goals! It'd be worth the price of the piano lessons! This black and white print dress echoes the piano keys in a more strident way. The dark femininity of the piece is striking and Nikki plays up the sexy side by making the most of the front slit. I love the way the flush of her pink-lavender make-up palette softly echoes the color of her wine. The whole shot has an artistic and editorial quality which is completely divine! Can we get a whole 'shoot like this, please? And maybe an album? I can 100% see Nikki as a nightclub chanteuse, mesmerizing patrons under dim house lights in small, smoky rooms! Perhaps for her post-WWE career? ;)
