FashionHap: Early Aug '16, Pt 2

We start out with a holdover from Maria's Paris adventure: this black top, which looks to either be leather, or have leather accents at the sleeves, paired with these super-cute shorts from bebe (ID by fashionofthedivas.tumblr.com). They're called "tulip" shorts and I love the unique, curved hemline; it makes them sweeter and more feminine than your standard straight cut. The leather balances that softness with a tougher vibe. Maria finished the look with....with.....The Shoes Which Must Not Be Named :) (whew...I got out of saying it. Still kinda cringed tho ;)), but I could see this look with black loafers, minimalist sandals or pointy toe pumps (side note: pumps+shorts is a ssly fierce look!). Disclosure: I am a #NeverBirkies girl. I bear no ill will to Birkie supporters though :).
Next up is a casual look from Brie which she wore during the SuperZoo conventions, as she supported PetMate Pet Products WWE-themed collection, with some help from Josie, the Frenchie...daaawww! Brie's look is super cute, but it can't out-cute Josie :). Still, I love the whote monochrome look and the texture of the distressed fabric. Brie elevates it a tad with her colored statement collar. Its simplicity makes this ensemble incredibly versatile. I can see it being paired with easy, breezy Keds sneakers, ivory or sand espadrilles or tan ankle booties. Options are good, good things :)
This black and gray printed dress is one we've from Brie before. In the spring, she paired it with black pointy-toe pumps. She's switched it to chunky-heeled platform sandals for summer and I like the way they lighten up the look. I could happily have gone for a pair in color, too ;)
Nikki has been totally slaying pantsuits lately and this black piece is one more in the killage parade. I love the simplicity: it's cleansing and incredibly chic! The flowy fabric adds subtle glamour, while the extra-long hemline is leg-lengthening. A classy pair of heels is all that's needed to finish this look off, although you could add a geometric long pendant as well for a little extra flash and fierceness.

The Twins also shared a pic from ToyCon, where Nikki repped her Fearless tee, complete with leggings and red high-top sneakers. Its a jazz to see her go back to that sporty vibe sometimes. As a fashion blogger, I really love seeing the ladies change up their looks; it keeps life interesting and me on my toes :). Brie went the trendy route with a minimalist black slipdress, paired with her current-fave chunky-heeled sandals. If you're looking for a pair like these, take a look at the Steve Madden Jillyy sandal here. I'm also a massive fan of Brie's choice to add a choker to this dress for a very 90's-meets-now vibe! She used the same black choker to accent a modern, sculptural cutout dress in a magnificent shade bright red for a date night with Daniel. The hint of black provides just the right subtle counterpoint to the red. Her bun look amazing, as well; there's just something about updo's and chokers that complement each other!
Lastly, I couldn't resist making a note of the FANTASMIC embellished bikini that Naomi, Renee and Lana wore in triplicate when they visited Anguila for Carnival. The threesome clearly had loads of fun. Everything associated with the celebration appears wildly over-the-top and mad fun, and the ladies were happy to dive right in! The swimsuit featured multi-metallic medallion accents, to which they added statement lariats and embellished flat sandals. If you're going to completely let loose in a bikini, this is SO the way to do it :). How much fun does that look like, right? There's something magical about the chance to dress totally outrageously...and fit right in! So, this is my wish for all of you today: that some time in your life, you are in the right place at the right time to wear an opulent bikini, paired with a jewel-laden necklace and bedazzled sandals. Just so you can say you did it (at least) once! :)
