Let's get to some December fashion, shall we? :) But before we do that, let's catch a November look that I , well, overlooked :) during my last FashionHap...oopsie. This outfit from Eden (more info about it - and excellent thought-provoking posts- on her blog BeingBrandiRunnels.com. Scroll down to her Black Friday post for this look) is completely fab. It has that immediate attention-grabbing (and holiday-approved!) shot of red, done in a unique squared-neck top. She pairs it with leather leggings and finishes off with my favorite part: leopard-print heels. And that's odd for me because I'm not usually a fan of leopard (Note: Brandi has a whole post about how leopard gets a bad rap), but when it's done tastefully and not in excess, as Eden's done here, it can be incredibly chic! The warmth of the print complements the red flawlessly. This is very simply a stellar, steal-worthy casual look that would translate wonderfully well as a holiday party outfit. Quick PS: Eden finally has her own show on WWE Network: Eden's Style. How cool is that?! Again, see her blog for more info. While we're on the subject of red and black, check out this fabulous schoolgirl-inspired outfit from Brooke. She's paired a houndstooth crop top with a black pencil skirt. There's something about houndstooth that's irrevocably British prep and Brooke plays on that look with her glasses and tailored skirt. Then she adds a bright spark with these killer strappy heels...tres fierce! And, of course, fierceness takes us to Alicia aka Foxy Fierce and this all-black ensemble. This leather skirt is a super-cute crush of tough leather and feminine leaf-like layered pieces which create a lot of volume for a leather skirt. Usually leather is smooth and pristine, but this is flirty and fierce! She accentuates the couture feel of this look with her craveworthy chain-and-ribbon necklace (see below), which nods at Chanel's style. Her black scoopneck halter top adds a dash of sexy to this fun and fancy outfit. I've got one more November throwback to toss at ya: this lemon degrade dress from Summer, which I have to mention, mainly because it involves yellow (sorry - my drug of choice, ya know :)). After the color, which I ADORE, not least because it blends yellow with a warm neutral, instead of gray or black, I love the fact that this is a dress, instead of a set and the pretty double shoulder straps. And the yellow shoes :) #BackWhereIStarted #LifesACircle Summer switched things up again by going for a midi skirt instead of a mini in her next offering: a cap sleeve crop top matched with a deep sage knit skirt with an uber-trendy thigh-high slit. I like the height of this slit a lot; it's sexy without getting into trash-territory - something to be aware of when selecting skirts or dresses within this trend. My rule is: no more than mid-thigh or say goodbye. Black pointy-toe pumps complete this look with a modern, polished feel.
The last look of early December is Lana's monochromatic look, which looks like her fab BCBG cropped jacket layered over a bodycon V-neck dress. I love how her bold cuff bracelet really MAKES this look, by providing the key statement, along with her classic metallic gold pumps. Her long side braid is chic, but laidback. Methinks Michael Kors would love this minimalist-glam styling ;)...and so do I :)
