SummerSlam week is always a great week for fashion, nearly rivaling Wrestlemania. This year, we got a taste of everything from boho to Black Swan looks. The former is represented by Brie (shocking, right? ;)) as she donned this blue mini dress with bell sleeves and a crocheted hem. The lace-up detailing at the front adds a dash of sassy modernity to this carefree piece. She paired it with a camel leather bag and white strappy platforms. It's a simple combination that works perfectly. I also love how cute her new, shorter hairstyle looks here! We also got a look at Carmella's out-of-the-ring style, as she visited the One World Observatory. She combined a sleeveless, high-neck ribbed top in toasted almond with dark floral shorts. Caramel lace-up sandals finished the outfit. I'm digging everything about this look...right up until the shoes. And here's why: the golden warmth of the caramel is gorgeous, but it forms a big contrast with the cool tone of her top. If that color play was the raison d'etre of her look, I could ttly swing with it, but there's more going on with that floral print. It makes her shoes look like something of a mis-match. I think I'd have gone with black sandals instead - same style, same everything, just a color swap. But I don't worry about Carmella. Girlfriend's got fashion sense and I can' t wait to see her intriguing style! Bayley has always been about bright colors and fun, whimsical accents in her gear. When she first debuted, it was all a bit wild on the eyes, but she's been working on staying true to her bouncy self, while creating a more cohesive visual and I like the results! This gear incorporates purple holograph fabric, edged with dark teal metallic and some funky graphics at the sides. I love the way this ensemble fits her lighthearted personality, but still feels harmonic. Nice one, Bayls! Charlotte appeared on Good Morning America to promote SummerSlam and she did so in this vibrant coral dress. The simple, sleeveless fit-and-flare silhouette let's the color do all the talking and this glorious melon shade has plenty to say! It looks amazing on Char, with her blonde hair and tanned skin. She paired it with her current fave BCBG Jetts heels, her trademark watch, a few band rings with lower digit placement for a trendy nod and stud earrings for a touch extra flash. Her black sandals ground the look, while her touches of jewelry embellish this dress, without overwhelming. It's a flawless example of doing style just right - just enough twists, just enough pizzazz, just the right color, just enough editing. Brava. And about that Black Swan reference? That's immediately what came to mind when I saw Charlotte's SummerSlam gear. It's an interesting contradiction that she's gone with bright colors all through the spring and now, here, in the heart of summer, chooses to go dark. Not expecting that :)...but that just makes me love it more! And I do love this gear! All the glamour and bedazzlement take on an almost surreal mysteriousness when set against these mesmerizing dark tones, while the tiny hints of deep purple whisper of royalty. I'm sure it's the feathers that make me think of the Black Swan and while so many of them - especially in addition to all the sparkle - could seem ostentatious, the noir palette works as a flawless counterbalance, softening their effect into one of graceful, delicate texture. It's stunning! We've seen this Cushnie et Ochs pantsuit from Nikki before, but that time, we weren't treated to a glimpse of her shoes. On this August occasion (pun intended ;)), we are privileged to learn that she paired it with light beige platform sandals (and also massive sunnies :)). These shoes nudge the look in a 70's direction. I can ttly see adding a wide-brimmed hat to this look :). On the ring gear front, it appears that the sporty-sexy Fearless era will be continuing a while longer. Nikki's SummerSlam look consisted of a white lace-up sports bra paired with black latex bottoms - taking a page from her ESPYs red carpet look, perhaps. I'm in for the latex because it's done with some restraint; a whole ensemble in the material might be a bit much. but here it adds a risque touch to the athletic vibe of her top.
Stephanie might just be WWE's Queen Of Sheath Dresses. This one stands out because of it's luscious magenta color. It's not a shade Stephanie has experimented with much in the past, but she definitely needs to in future: this shade is incredible on her! She accented it with a statement lariat necklace and band ring, both done in gold, which brings a warm sparkle to this rich hue. She also reprised this robin's egg blue sheath we saw earlier this year. this time, though, she dressed it down with a denim blazer that I loved at first sight and a pair of chunky-strapped sandals. Those two elements loosen the look up and change the vibe from polished to carefree..but still madly stylish! Her ponytail echoes the laidback feel of her outfit. I love the way the high setting looks on Steph (it's also a personal fave of mine), but a low ponywould work equally well for this look. Maryse slayed SummerSlam (but of course dahling) in an all-white ensemble: a glittering corset top, zipped low to reveal a bedazzled (and dazzling!) brassiere. Her briefs are cut in a very unique high, but squared out shape that draws the eye to her hips. The design is accentuated by the corset. What's fun about this is that Maryse often plays up her other assets, but this look literally highlights *every* curve. In glaring white, it's impossible to take your eyes off her. Did anyone even see Miz's match? Maryse completed the seduction-meets-glamour look with white leather OTK boots, which are fitting and fabulous. What else would we expect from Maryse? :) While Maryse was slaying in front of the curtain, Renee was killing us all backstage in this vibrant red suit (which, incidentally is by Olia Zavozina, who designed Lana's wedding dress). The jacket gets a tuxedo vibe - and an extra shot of formality- from the black satin lapels, a detail I adore and which Renee played up with a black deep-v-neck tee. Slim trousers contributed to the powerful statement of this look. Renee completed it with sexy and feminine minimalist heels which offset the take-no-prisoners attitude of the rest of the look. I love love love seeing Renee do looks like this. She executes them brilliantly, making them look super cool and saucy. Translation: this just made my #StealItNow list..and not just because I'm a blazer devotee.
