January closed with a bang in terms of fashion! Stephanie and Renee got together for a Be A Star rally in Miami and they both rocked their looks. We see a lot of denim and mini dresses from Divas and I love denim and a great mini as much as any girl, but I also love seeing something different. It wakes up my senses and fires up my imagination. Renee gave us a how-to-do for wide leg pants, a look that's been making serious in-roads in the skinny trend. Wide legs are incredibly chic when done right (more on that soon ;)). Cut (it's all about the right waist)and fabric are important - you want something with a little drape. This is not the time to give in to your desire for anything canvas or taffeta :). Renee matched her black pair with a white crop top for a modern, crisp look. This is a great way to play with silhouettes : sleek and form-fitting on top, flowy on the bottom. Nude heels finish the look with a hint of warmth. (You could do a pop of color too). Stephanie gave us two classic dresses, both updated with a super-sophisticated midi length. I love the cap sleeves on her red dress; they make the silhouette flawless and keep the look fresh. Her three-quarter-sleeved and scoop-necked black dress is as classic as it gets. You could keep the accessories simple, as Steph has done, or add a punch with bold jewels or a scarf. In both cases, it's her shoes that make the killage: these studded peeptoe booties (the unfortunately sold-out Michael Kors Bryn) bring the FIERCE hard. She also gets props for the beautiful flushed pink cheek look - how much more gorgeous can ya get ?- and the 90's-rerefencing asymmetrical-part hairstyle. This combination has a breezy, youthful vibe and looks aaaaaamazing! I do try to make some noise around here about ring gear. It's one of the most unique aspects of wrestling and the place where the ring and fashion are most closely aligned. This lavender gear from Charlotte is a champ-worthy standout! The color is, of course, a highlight. I'm always thrilled when Divas find unusual shades to tempt us with. The floral lace fabric, however, is what really made me take notice; it's one of the most beautiful lace patterns I've seen lately and the femininity of the floral is a fabulous foil for the (were you wondering when I was going to run out of words starting with 'f'? lol) for the touches of studs that dot the smooth metallic edging. This is easily her best gear so far, hands down. Brava, Char! PS I adore the crystals around her eyes too! ;) Lastly, I wish we had gotten a better look at this outfit from Alicia. What we can see is that Foxy Fierce went black on black (or mostly so) and topped that monochrome look with a jaw-dropper of a statement jacket. Just...shazam! This cropped piece has incredible detailing and plenty of attitude and I really hope we get to see more of it!
