I’ve been working super hard on a massive new Melange post. Coming this week for ya, loves! XO Maria was cool and casual in her black and red graphic tee and leggings. I love how she put a rocker-cool spin on this look with her leather vest and, most of all, those super hot ankle boots! A little hardware always gets my attention ;). For her summer tv appearance, she ditched casual for glam, showing off this silver sequined dress with a tulip front. The cutesy vibe of her lipstick-kiss pumps wouldn’t have been my first choice as a pairing from a fashion standpoint, but they’re a perfect way to convey her character, so I’m giving them the ok here. They definitely add a whimsical touch to this fancy piece, which makes the look stand out from the ordinary. She doubled down on that theme with her next look, a pairing of black kabooty shorts with a sequined Betty Boop tee and lipstick-kiss leather jacket in blush. The whole ensemble is so over-the-top and almost cartoonish that only Maria could pull this off successfully. Her massive, fearless personality carries this look: it doesn’t wear her, she wears it. And she channels it into a faux serious sexy lovefest. I’m completely in awe of how she makes something so wrong seem exactly right. And she earns bonus points for the on-trend fishnets. We saw Maryse wear this BCBG cape dress alone with nude pointy pumps and layered over a sheer piece with Rockstud pumps, but here she lighten the look up by completing it with Nudist ankle strap sandals. They have a barely-there quality (hence the name ;)) which really highlights the sleek softness of this dress. I’m also 100% in for her self-wrapped pony, which looks amazing on her and is rapidly becoming one of my favorite hairstyles. I also want to express my delight for Maryse and Miz and their forthcoming bundle of joy. Congrats to them! McKenzie gave us a classic country-girl pairing when she wore this combination of a ruffled white blouse with dark blue denim. A caramel belt added an earthy touch. While it’s not groundbreaking, it has that perfect sweet, summer vibe. From there, she turned to a fancier rendition of a similar feminine theme, as she wore this ruffled, shoulder-baring white floral print dress. I love the dark colors in this floral; they help to keep it modern and add more complexity to the feel of the dress than an all-pastel floral would have. Her statement earrings are just the right choice to add drama to the look. Allie was also in a flowery mood – her gray printed choker-style romper expressed a theme similar to that of McKenzie’s dress, with an of-the-moment twist from the choice of silhouette. Again, the dark colors in the print keep it firmly anchored in the realm of art more than frill. I would probably have skipped the pink pendant and let the deep v neckline stand on its own, but it does help to bring out the romper’s pink tones. Laurel completed the floral-print triumvirate with her pink-accented navy romper. The spaghetti straps highlight her toned shoulders perfectly and her pale carnation lip shade keeps the whole look ultra-soft and summer-ready. If you didn’t notice that florals are crucial in fashion right now, well, this snap is a pretty good tip-off :). McKenzie’s next look paired a black and white print coord set with a matching choker and black ankle strap sandals. There’s a clean, crisp vibe to black and white that makes it inevitably chic. That sophistication, along with the choker, updates this set and keeps it feeling current. Noelle keeps showing a knack for picking stellar dresses that blend glamour and sultriness in just the right amounts. After wowing me at this year’s Wrestlemania Hall of Fame, she caught my attention again with her selection for the Kultureball in July. This wine gown is super simple, but the halter silhouette and dramatic side cutouts give it a modern-art vibe and a huge jolt of sexy that works flawlessly. The rich color is magnificent on Noelle and the way she echoed it in her make-up palette with spiced rose lips and cranberry eye shadow just added to the beauty, as did her side-braided hair. I love everything about this look.
We got a look at Summer’s casual style at a late-summer event where she donned dark denim and one of her trademark crop tops. Instead of the expected polished vibe, though, this one channels urban grunge with its distressed styling and heathered coloring. Her use of strappy flat sandals also stood out – I was a little sad that twisted-rope fabric tempered the fierce attitude of her top, but at the same time, I loved seeing flats used in such a great way. If they were done in black leather, it would definitely erase my hesitation, but I can live with them as is :). Summer was also in involved in a thoroughly scalding photoshoot for Sharp Magazine which involved a number of shots of her in white bathing suits and desert backdrop, sometimes with a grounded aeroplane as a prop…what is about rivet on metal that looks so freakin’ amazing? Although, a killer six pack and blonde curls can totally compete – evidence presented. Whether it’s the minimalist bikini and or scoopnecked maillot, the super high-cut legs lend an 80’s vibe to the snaps that’s seriously sexy. The black combats boots bring plenty of attitude and Summer absolutely SLAYS every scalding pose. She leans on the plane, fiddles with her hair, closes her eyes and literally gleams in the summer sun. I’m kind of shocked my screen didn’t melt. You may be able to find a hotter swimsuit ‘shoot than this, but I sure won’t bet on it.
