I really think Lana’s way to celebrate a wedding should be the only way: a first ceremony with one theme, a month or so of wedding attire and celebrating your attachment and then another ceremony with a second theme, concluding the whole festival. The second ceremony in Lana’s case was magnificent, traditional Bulgarian ceremony in an Orthodox church. There are so many customs, each with special meanings, that are part of these time-honored practices. Lana gives us a peek at some of them in her recent interview with WWE. The depth and intricacy of the proceedings is fascinating and beautiful. Starting a life together after sharing those moments and that heritage must be a truly amazing feeling!
Lana posted a pre-nuptial shot on her Instagram of her walking out of the church, wearing wide-leg pants and a gorgeous square-necked blouse. I love how unusual this silhouette is! It pairs the strength and sensuality of the square neck with the elegance of floaty cap sleeves. Lana finished the all-white look with minimalist sandals. For the ceremony itself, she once again turned to Olia Zavozina, who created her first-ceremony dress. If you thought the designer couldn’t top that first effort, think again! This gown had a more classic silhouette, more lace and a muuuuch longer – and incredibly dramatic – train. Per the Orthodox tradition, Lana’s shoulders were covered while inside the church. Zavozina used a miniature capelet-stype piece, done in lace, with scalloped tendrils that made Lana look like a fairy tale princess. After the ceremony, the capelet was removed to reveal delicate spaghetti straps beneath. Lana also went with more traditional colors for this event. Her round, ribbon-wrapped bouquet was done in a mix of whites, celery-ivory and burgundy. Rusov’s boutiniere consisted of a single burgundy rose. Using the colors and designs to reflect the more traditional nature of the affair was a wonderful idea and the simpler color scheme was stunning, both against the white masonry and gray stones of the church’s outer façade and natural surroundings, and the inner majesty of the building.
