Alicia and Natalya rocked their fashion on a recent trip to Dubai. Foxy created two fabulous looks based on statement jackets. I've raved before about my deep and abiding love of jackets and their instant impact on and elevation of an outfit. Alicia gives a flawless demo of exactly that. With each outfit, she pairs a perfectly cut pair of pants - we've seen these from her before and they're winners in my book, with a soft flare, perfect drape and tremendous polish - with simple tops: white collared shirts or neutral tees. She pops one look with her cropped, color blocked yellow jacket. Not only is the piece in my favorite color, it's a great example of how a piece can be trendy and timeless. Color blocking had a big moment two-three years ago, but has since faded. This piece capitalized on that look at the time, but because of the simplicity of the block placements and the mix of a color with a neutral, it looks just as incredible now...and will continue to into the future. Black strappy pumps finish her sleek and refined look. Her other jacket is a magnificent pieced confection, which layers a variety of materials, stitching and studs to create a gorgeous, fierce jacket with an attitude. It gives a raw, rocker spin to her top+pants combination, whether she completes it with the black sandals or caramel Western-esque boots. Natalya gave us a series of looks in black and showed us the wide range the color is capable of. Her first look is a streetwise off-duty model pairing of a leather jacket with slim pants and OTK's. It's a classic combo that works beautifully - the kind of thing you reach for when you have a fraction of a second to create a killer outfit...or a super-curated selection (like what you can fit in a suitcase packed for Dubai ;)). Her next look is a knit maxi dress (fabulous choice for packablity, btw - it rolls up to take a minimum of space, doesn't wrinkle much and can be dressed up or down). Nattie dresses it down with an iconic suiting blazer and boots for a classy, pulled-together look. Her last outfit reprises her first look, but jettisons the boots for of-the-moment minimalist strappy sandals in a warm tan shade. She carries that color through the look and injects movement and a bit of an artsy vibe with a massive statement scarf, draped carelessly around her neck. Any shade of medium to light brown always makes a fantastic pairing with black and I love the easy chic of this look!
