Nikki and Brie were busy promoting Total Divas this last week (the first episode of the new season aired 1/19. Check it out on Tues nights on E!) and consequently, we got some rather fabulous outfits :) First, from the episode itself, we saw Brie in this cute black and white checked cut-out skater dress from Charlotte Russe (sadly, no longer available, although the brand is carrying a few similar styles), Gingham made a huge splash on the spring runways so expect to see a bit of it floating about in a month or two ;). It's such a cute, fun pattern but simple enough that it can work as a neutral too. The Bellas then cranked the fashion into high gear, with Nikki turning to current Bella-fav brand Alice & Olivia for her sequined jumpsuit - a stunner of a piece which offered a wonderful mix of trendy and glam. Nude peeptoe pumps warmed the look, while keeping it daytime-appropriate. Brie chose a metallic snake print jacquard dress from Topshop (info on both of the Bella's pieces can be found at fashionofthedivas). When you say "metallic snake", it sounds really wild and over-the-top, but this version is super pretty: soft, dreamy and beautifully feminine - with just a touch of wild heart thrown in :) Brie's silver pumps complement it flawlessly, picking up the dress's shimmery cool shades and contrasting with the glimmering warm tones. The ladies switched up dramatically from neutrals to COLOR for another promotional appearance. Trendy-glamour is a look Nikki favors and she does it again here, but with a totally different look from the one above. This time, it's a crop top and lace pencil skirt with an asymmetric hemline that creates the contrast between old-school Hollywood and of-the-moment styling. Her platform peeptoes complete the look with elegant simplicity. We don't get to see Brie's shoes because she went with a maxi skirt :) in a vibrant array of colors! It blazes with brightness and pattern and, as is Brie's trademark, has a distinctly bohemian feel. She paired it with a simple -but dramatic!- halter top with a plunge V-neck. The bold minimalism is just what needed with this free-spirited skirt!
And now we go from Bel to Vel! For those of you missing your Velvet Sky, she graced us with an Insta-pic of herself all dressed up, something we only get to see rarely. Velvet gives us a clue as to why - apparently dressing up isn't her favorite thing ;). Still, we like to see it when she does! This glittery one-shoulder dress has a hint of vintage about it, due to the flowy sleeve. Velvet plays that up with cute mary-jane heels. A slim bangle and the requisite touch of pink - here, at nails and lips- complete the look. She may not enjoy dressing up, but she sure rocks it :) *Edit: doyyyyyy...I apparently completely forgot Nikki's gray outfit when I first posted this #Rushing #BloggerProbs so, I will yabber re: it now :). This gray-on-gray set is classic Nikki - a touch of classic glamour, via the long satin gloves and fabulous column maxi with high slide slit, spiked with a modern twist: studded Louboutin pumps and cropped top. I love love the drama of this outfit! That was my first thought :) My second thought was: ogh - the textural weave of that set is super cool! I stand by both thoughts :) Nikki is a master at this au courant-glamazon look and this is one more example. Take notes ;)*
