So it begins. Wrestlemania week, lovelies! Are you strapped in? I'll be finishing up March and delving into aaaaallll the WM fashion happenings so come early and often...and stay late ;) Nikki Bella wore this black sheer-striped dress to a recent event. The sheer-stripe/ lined-unlined pairing has been an important look in fashion lately. Done right, it has a wonderful visual play that's lighthearted and flirty. She paired with her Louis Vuitton pumps, which we haven't see for awhile. I always love to see the Divas re-use fashion in an interesting way. She also wore this simple but fab sleeveless shell and slim pants combo - I'm loving her use of the red. It packs a punch and is both classy and unexpected! She finished off the look with a bit of glam - crystal-accented almond toe pumps, which I would move in with in a heartbeat ;). The shoes elevate this outfit and create a gorgeous and exciting exclamation point. Like Nikki, Summer has the sheer-stripe thing going on this month. Hers was done via a pencil skirt, which she paired with a lace halter top. The lighting makes this look a bit jaw-dropping (something to keep in mind when choosing one's outfits), but I believe this look is really the sexy-meets-modern kind of event-appropriate fashion Summer excels at. Oh...and this pose? Can we have that in the next photoshoot, pretty pleasums? I always have a certain innate pull toward outfits that are a straightforward mix of classic elements, spiked with a twist. It's a combination Natalya often gravitates to as well. This look pairs an iconic leather jacket with blue denim. The spike comes from the mesh embellishment on her black tee, which gives a cool, edgy vibe to the look. OTK's finish the outfit perfectly. It's not overly complex, but it looks divine, embodying "I woke up like this" fashion sensibilities. Brie is always at the forefront of the casual cool style crowd. This cropped tank and jeans is as laidback as it gets. But there are a few elements that make it particularly stand out. One is her use of navy instead of black. Even though there's just barest extra bit of warmth in the deep blue as compared to the black, it still softens the whole vibe of the outfit. Second, I love the easy, comfortable chic of her suede slip-on flats. This is a perfect xample of how subtle details make an outfit! Barbie Blank-Souray took to the red carpet in this sequined gem of a dress. The strong shoulder and swooping neckline are highlights, as is the interplay between the white and gold sequins. She finished the look with camel pumps. I think I might have gone for pristine white ones instead. And while Barbie kept the modern glamazon feel via a pin-straight blowout, I think a low pony would have conveyed the same idea, while looking a shade more polished.
I have to pause for a quick nod to Lana, who reprised this tv outfit this week, but switched her gold pumps for this killer pair of lace-up sandals. Can we just take a moment for this? Charlotte attended a meet and greet at Pittsburg Children's hospital in this high-neck sleeveless knit dress. Sadly, weren't privy to her she choice, but her Abi pumps would have done nicely. I'm really like how appropriate this dress is in terms of formality - it's fancier than jeans, but the knit fabric makes it more of a day-dress or dressy-casual piece. It's a nice way to dress up, without going over the top and dressing appropriately for an occasion is always a wonderful show of respect. Natalya was also at the event, wearing a similar high-necked style. Her piece was a peplum top, which she paired with a white pencil skirt. As with Charlotte, we don't get to see her shoes, but my money's on black pointy-toe pumps. And, like Charlotte, I love how Nattie's outfit is dressy, but not overly formal, making it respectful, classy and just right for the event. This same event also included Brie. It's so cool that all these ladies took their time to go visit the sick children. Gotta love them! Brie's choice was a black pantsuit, styled as shown on the right side of this double shot: with minimalist sandals. I loved how she demo'd two styling options for this look: the casual one on the left, with a tossed-over-shoulders sweater and nerd-chic wedges, and the more formal, plainer option she eventually chose. The two shots are a fun illustration of how a fashionista's mind works, something I always get a thrill from! Lastly, Eva Marie gave us another example of the properly-paired-simple-elements variety of style. Her was an all-black mix of leather jacket, sheer top, skinny denim and OTKs. While I like the theory, in practice I much prefer sexiness that isn't quite as overt as the sheer-top-over-bra look. I would be a much bigger fan if this were done with a bandeau, cropped cami or similarly more substantial piece underneath.
