One amazing thing about fashion: it’s always there for you. It never lets you down. No matter what’s going on in your life, you can escape to fashion. It can be your solace when times are tough, your way to celebrate when they’re good and your personal form of expression and comfort every day in between. And, we’ve got a special treat today! After a big drought of Knockouts’ fashion, we’ve got a boatload of it to review! So, settle in and enjoy :-) When Gail was inducted into the Knockouts’ Hall Of Fame, Christy and Taryn were on hand to congratulate her. Gail looked aaaamazing in her coral gown with its daring front slit. I love this color on her, as well as the chic simplicity of this piece. The color and hint of sex appeal bring just enough drama to the look, which she completed with gorgeous metallic gold strappy sandals. Everything about this look is spot on. Taryn’s look was less formal: she paired a navy mock-neck bodycon sheath with black peep-toe pumps. This look utilizes the same theory as Gail’s: minimalism+a dash of va-voom, with the same lovely results. For a formal event, the pairing needed a dash of formality, which Taryn added via a glamorous crystal collar. It’s so much fun to get a peek at her always effervescent and fierce style! Speaking of fierce style, we also got a rare snippet from the incomparable Christy, who wore a side cutout halterneck gown. Like Gail’s hers derived a seductive edge from a thigh-high slit. Statement earrings completed her look. Sadly, we didn’t get a look at her shoes, but knowing Christy, I’m betting they were bold, trendy sandals ;). We get even moooooore KO’s fashion from this shot, taken backstage at the October tapings. First up is Allie, who again surprises me with her look. It’s more reserved than I’m sued to from a Knockout, but I love it! She rocks this bright blue peplum top paired with skinny jeans. My favorite part, though, is her OTK boots. The taller silhouette adds a fabulous dollop of fierceness to this look. Her long, sleek blonde locks are just icing on this cake! Next, we come to Jade’s look…which is basically: So, I’m going to move on to Laurel, a newcomer to the roster, who pairs a lace-edge dress –which might very well be velvet – with nearly-OTK boots. I love the pairing of OTKs with mini dresses and this works equally well. There’s an aesthetically balanced amount of space between the hem of her dress and the top of her boots, making the pieces come together flawlessly. I’m also on board for the contrast of the femme lace with the tougher leather texture of her footwear. Nicely done! Oh my, Brandi Rhodes! Girlfriend let her sexy out with this look – it is aaaaaalll about those curves! She paired a gray strapless bustier (which I totally adore!) with slim pants that have a unique chevron waist that really plays up her stunning hourglass shape. Suede OTKs complete the ensemble. This is just…wow. #HowItsDone101. Take a moment. Gail was also having a bustier moment: she matched her black, notch-detailed piece with black shorts and then added a big dose of color with her red OTKs. We don’t often see shorts with tall boots and the look is fabulous! Also, since Mandy, Maryse and now Gail have all worn red boots, I think we can say they are officially a thing for Fall 2016. The studded dress has seen some major action this year. Like the red OTKs, the style has now been worn by a triumvirate of lady wrestlers: Barbie, Maryse and this turn from Madison. It looks every bit as fierce and incredible on her as it did on the two blonde bombshells. My only wish is that she had paired with something other than flip flops :’(. I know it’s just a chill, backstage shot, so we’ll overlook the choice here, but let’s say she was out and about in this fun dress. A killer pair of sandals, an edgy pair of OTKs or a casually urban-cool pair of pointy-toe ankle booties would completely slay! Brandi had one more way to rock our world: in purple! The halter neckline and cutout sides of this dress give it an au courant flair, but it’s the magnificent saturated color (which looks so fantastic on her, btw) and the swathes of studded bands that really caught my eye. I’m also loving the pale, earthy tones of her make-up and her braided headband. As usual, Brandi’s style is second to none!
Brie did the dress thing with a camel fit-and-flare item that gets a bit of a homespun feel from the paper-bag-esque waistband and oversize buttons. I’m glad she added a dash of attitude to the look with black knee boots – they’re precisely what was required. While this isn’t my favorite piece I’ve ever seen on her, I’m a fan of the way she makes it work. And speaking of not my favorite pieces, I’m a bit nonplussed by this oddball confection of a piece from Lana. The combination of plaid and lace is generally one I’m all in for, but it’s the pieced quality of this sheath that’s throwing me. It’s giving me “ran-out-of-fabric” feels, which I’m sure is not the intention of the designer, but still, can you blame me? :) Even the addition of a trendy choker can’t rescue this piece. Oh well. Lana will doubtless be back to her usual slayage momentarily. And on that whole slayage topic…how about this BTS snap from Eva Marie? Hubba hubba. This lattice-y cutout bodysuit reminds me strongly of Summer’s Bao Tranchi dress from this year’s ESPYs. To this ultra-sexy piece, she added a luxurious faux fur coat, tossed across her shoulders with careless glamour. I couldn’t see this look really working for anything except a photoshoot or music video but oh my, does it ever work in this case! Shazam. And her pose is perfection. She gave us one more moment to drool over as she did the 90’s-#tbt-turned-now thing of posting a shot in her Calvins. This cotton set (I’m a massive fan of natural fabrics) is cut just right and flatters her curves brilliantly. The color is just what we’d expect from Miss All Red Everything and I venture to say it looks even more stunning set against her dark hair than it did against red. She doubled up on lace-up pieces to complete the look: a strappy choker that hints at S & M and her wildly dramatic OTKs. Together, they make a massive statement. I think I might have preferred to choose just one of the two, however, and go with a smoother texture for the other. Then again, Eva loves to be bold, so I can see why she went with the styling she did ;).
