Yes, I am reviewing October fashion. I know, I know. It was only a matter of time until Barbie explored the latex trend! She dabbled in the fabric with this LBD from House of CB for an October event. The simplicity of this dress is a perfect choice – we don’t see the kind of envelope-pushing cuts Barbie often reaches for. Here, the sensuality all comes from the fabric and, with a daring material like this, it’s exactly the right way to go. Black ankle strap heels complete the look, along with an eye-catching make-up choice: a super-pale nude lip that nearly matches Barbie’s skin tone. While it makes me stop and take notice, I think I would have preferred something a touch warmer – a dusty cinnabar or quartz. Next up is a flowing romper from Planet Blue. The color pairing of camel and black and the looser cut of this piece combine to give it a much more chic and sophisticated feel than your standard version. Barbie adds a shot of fierce with her suede OTK boots and oversized sunnies and look comes together with the kind of unstudied, tantalizing style that is her trademark. From there, she swung into the relaxed modernity of a denim on denim pairing, utilizing J Brand denim. A House of CB bodysuit in olive provided the underlayer, while suede peeptoe OTKs from Pretty Little Thing gave the look some edge. I like the mix of soft neutrals in this outfit. I’d love an embellished bag here to tie everything together! While it’s not really an “outfit” per se, I couldn’t resist sharing this snap from Barbie which featured this show-stopping statement necklace from For The Stars Fashion House, a custom creator of one-of-a-kind designs. With layers of gold chains and crystals, this piece is ahhhhMAYzing! Barbie got the full effect out of it by pairing it with nude bikini bottoms – doesn’t she look like a divine siren, rising up out of the sea?! -, but I’d be interested to see it tried atop a minimalist LBD. She got her grunge on with this combo of a cropped boxy sweatshirt and white denim. I’m not generally a fan of shorts cut to reveal the pockets, as it tends to look messy, but here, it fits the bored-punk theme so well that I’m breaking my rule :). Barbie completed the look with a black and white plaid shirt knotted at her waist on true 90’s style. I love the way it pulls the whole look together! Lastly, I just had to call out this fun Halloween costume: Barbie took a turn as The Punisher, albeit a very sexy version of the character! With white fishnets and black patent OTKS pairing with an insignia-emblazoned bodysuit, this costume would be as completely appropriate for a music vid as a costume party : ). Periodically, Bayley hits a sweet spot with her ring gear which keeps the funky colors and patterns she’s made her trademark and still looks cohesive. This is one of them! The striping and stars make the outfit unexpectedly trendy and the color combination – a gorgeous purple, cooled with a side of mint and silver and sweetened with a touch of gold is unusual and appealing. The gear has a cleaner design which gives it greater impact, but still keeps the effervescent spirit that is quintessentially Bayley. I even like the additional color pop of her baby blue boots :). Nicely done! Minimalism is the standout vibe of Alexa’s Raw look, a monochromatic romper that she brought polish to with a poofed half up-do and a powerful smoky eye. A wide choker and black suede ankle booties added a touch more interest. Despite the restraint, this look packs a punch and Blissy looks fab! Becky’s visit to Boca Juniors Stadium included this casual look, an interesting mix of elements, ranging from an ivory blouson tank to lace-up-detailed leather leggings to a boxy blazer and suede platform OTKs. I think I might have gone with a more streamlined jacket – a leather moto piece or classic denim – to help unite the billowy top pieces with the slim bottoms. Alternatively, bodycon tank or bodysuit beneath the boxy jacket would do the trick. Those leggings are FIERCE, though -I definitely want to see those again! The poof was back for Alexa’s next Raw appearance, but the vibe was a bit more casual, as she paired a gray tank with an asymmetric hem with black leggings, a cropped jacket (which hits her waist perfectly and shows off the wonderful shape of her top) and mid-calf boots. This look is 100% flawless! Actually, it really does remind me of something the fierce and flawless LayCool would have done if someone stole all their bedazzlement. It has the same grunge-cool aesthetic. The chilled interpretation is spot on for what’s happening right now in fashion. Also, if you’re petite in height, like Alexa, and have ever wondered about doing mid-calf boots, this is your 10 clas. Yes, you can. This is how. Keep your pants slim, keep the shaft height to the low side of mid, include a piece that creates a visual break at the upper portion of your leg (here, its Blissy’s top, but a tunic, a cardigan or a mini skirt/mini dress would all work similarly).
Mickie has long been a fan of vests and this fringed leather piece is just her kind of thing, with it’s country flair. She added plenty of shine, with crystal-embellished slim pants and belt. I sort of wish she had done a gray belt here, as the black grabs a lot of the focus in the look, but I love the combination of leather and crystals (as if you didn’t know ;)). I’m also head over heels for her softly waved hair –so gorge! We got two looks from opposite ends of the spectrum from Brandi. First up is a burgundy lace coord set with a ruffle detail at the bodice. This outfit is fantastic: the lace is stunning, the color looks incredible on Brandi and the set fits her to perfection. I’m in heaven! No embellishment required here – the clothing and her flawless figure say all that needs to be said. Winches for jaws and towels for drool provided at the door. Next up is an ensemble that drips downtown cool: a sheer cropped top paired with gray distressed denim. While the chain-detail bag caught my eye, my favorite part of the look is easily those star-studded boots! They are super fun, so trendy and they totally make this look, adding a playful, joyous exclamation point to this straightforward combination. Brandi is so major, y’all.
