We got a very mixed bag of snaps from Axxess Day 3 - everything from full body shots to partial torsos. The latter naturally make it somewhat difficult to review per se, but being the fashion lover I am, I try to at least make a comment or two :). Charlotte went for a classic combination of red and black, pairing a halter cropped top with stunning red wide-leg pants. She gets huge props for trying out the wide leg style and I really love how she makes it work. The key to the trend is defining the waist one way or another (which allows the pants to work their long, leggy magic). Charlotte's choice of the crop top accomplishes this perfectly. This shade of red is glorious - intense and attention getting. By doing it as the larger, bolder piece in her look , Charlotte gave it extra significance and made the whole outfit stand out. Leave it to Alicia to slay the life out of an Axxess outift! I LOVE this look - her burgundy suede overall dress (yes - a dress with an overall top. This one is the Jameson Leather Overall Dress x For Love & Lemons via Mulaner. A few also available in black at lexandlynne.com) is super fun in and of itself, but with studs? Fierce, baby! So fierce! But Her Foxiness doesn't stop there. She adds trendiness to uniqueness and fierceness by layering an off-shoulder tank underneath it for a completely incredible casual look. This is how you make laidback be totally NOT boring! A short collar pendant necklace and a low bun complete this amazing look. Nia went for a black monochrome outfit, which is solid throughout. She does an excellent job mixing textures for visual interest by topping a knit tee and black leggings with a leather-panelled knit waterfall jacket. I haven't seen enough of her fashion choices to know if all black is something she gravitates to often. If that's her preference and what she enjoys, that rocks! But I do get sad when I think that a number of curvier ladies stay with black because they've been told 18 million times over that it's slimming. The way an outfit looks on the body is much more about cut, fabric and visual geometry than color. So, curvy chicks, if you love color , this is my personal plea to you: don't shy away from it! Have some fun with your palette :) Summer kept things light with a blush tank (or tank dress) with tonal striping. A pretty ivory lace choker accented the look. One thing that I love very much about this piece is that it definitely seems to not be a coord set :). Also, the softness of the combination is gorgeous for hot weather -light neutrals always have a dewy fresh quality. Alexa kept her usual grunge-glam vibe with this striped peplum top, embellished with a hint of sequins - because if it doesn't shine, it's not bliss! ;) Her trademark bold crystal statement necklace adds a bit more flash to the look. I'm guessing she finished things off with black leggings and boots, but that's just a (n educated) guess. Lastly: shoutout to her totally gorge half-updo! Beth's Axxess look was as straightforward as it gets: gray muscle tank, dark denim . A simple look like this can make for killer style if it's finished in just the right way -laidback, grungy black sneakers, or sharp black pointy pumps. We don't get to see Beth's shoe choice, but she could have gotten a similar effect from a bolder hair style - a sleek poofed pony or more complex half up-do would have added a nice edge to this outfit that would have given it the perfect aura of je ne se quoi. Dana's pairing is similar to Beth's in its simplicity. She matches her denim with an almond fringed tank. The fringe creates a faux-cropped effect and adds movement, making the tank the focal point of this look. I like the fact that this is a little more toned-down than what we often see from Dana; it works quite nicely! Carmella once again did a spot-on job of looking like a brassy, streetwise Staten Island fashionista, pairing a cropped graphic tee with skinny athletic pants. I love her choice of bottoms - the skinny, but not bodycon fit gives the athletic styling a couture vibe, instead of looking like something you'd wear to the gym. It elevates the look dramatically and makes it event-appropriate; an ordinary legging would have been way too casual and clashed with the vibe of her fierce lace-up heels, which were a stellar pick, as well! They added just the right exclamation point to a look that Carmella is owning with consistency lately. Nicely done, girl!
We've seen this pink look before from Lana and this was an excellent venue for the reprise. The look is nicely fancy for repping the Co., when the Co. is an entertainment-based juggernaut and I like that she put in the effort for the fans. Reason #58964521 why we looove Lana! . A statement outfit like this doesn't offer much room for variations, outside of shoe choices (although it's worth noting that you could split these pieces up and wear them separately - the top with denim or a black pencil skirt and the pants with anything from a knotted tee to a double breasted blazer). Sadly, we are not privvy to Lana's shoe selection :') The ruffle keeps this look uber-trendy though and the pink is perfectly spring-fresh. Mickie reached for her go-to combo of lace and blue denim, this time taking things to the dark side with a black cami. I love the mint border detail on the top, as well as the way she played on that vibe with her turquoise pendant. I could have lived without the red stones, though - they were a bit distracting. When I imagine the necklace with neutral or more turquoise stones, the little fashionista in my brain gets muuuch happier :). On a side note, aren't her glasses so cute?! Aaaand we get a little extra Summer for our fashion pleasure. So, another Summer-attended event, another coord set (this one is from NEM Fashion). Do I give her props for the sleek gray shading, the mock-neck and the short sleeves? Yes, I do. Variation is good and I appreciate it; I wish there was even a little more of it. Summer has such a great fashion sense and she's rocked our world with mini and maxi dresses and pleated tops and lace blouses, but sometimes it feels like she gets the coord set stuck on repeat. I would love to see her give the wide-leg trend a try, or some of the fantastic ruffled tops (possibly a ruffled one-shoulder affair, pretty please?) that are ruling fashion rn. Can I maybe get a tulle skirt too. just for fun? :) I know she has the capability of slaying that kind of high style, so I'm hoping it's just a matter of time and opportunity.
