Festival season is upon us and even if you're not headed to the warm and sunny West to hear indie and epic bands play their hearts out in the great, open expanses of the desert, you can still be inspired by the thought :). Brie's boho printed shift struck me as the perfect piece for a festival show - cool, comfortable and free spirited! Go for a shift (a dress with a more open cut) as opposed to a curve-kissing sheath. Some shifts have a boxy silhouette, which can be quite flattering if the fabric is flowy (like silk), while others flow away from the body in an A-line shape, which works with almost any fabric. The latter cut is my favorite. Be sure to pick a statement-type piece with a fab, intricate print. Paisley immediately comes to mind, but mandalas or other geometrics will work nicely as well. A long neutral cardigan and/or fringed scarf add a touch of warm for cool desert nights...or nippy spring days ;). Amp up the wild-at-heart vibe with suitable and beautiful accessories: dream catcher earrings, a bright seed bead bracelet or an of-the-moment choker (consider one with a pretty drop pendant or colored velvet for an authentic touch). Finish the look with functional boots - the kind you can walk over festival grounds in for hours at a time: low-heeled ankle booties or flat knee-highs in a color that coordinates with your dress's tones. And voila: you're ready for Coachella! ...or, at least you look like you are. Ya know what they say: fake it 'til ya make it, loves! In the meantime, rock on with yo' style :) #LightersUp
