Carmella's urban sporty style is seriously fun and spot on trend, i.e. well worth borrowing ;). I love the effortless effect of this bright bomber set atop an LBD - the big pop of color makes me think of spring, even if the temperatures haven't quite caught up to that particular daydream yet. Clearly, the way to start this outfit is with your little black dress of choice. Don't go for anything too formal - stick with knit fabrics that keep the look low-key. The exception to that is if you're going with a slip-dress (how totally trendy of you!). In that case, slide a turtleneck underneath to make the silhouette cold-weather friendly and then feel free to use silk, satin or whatever fabulous fabric floats your stylish ducks... in a row :). Step two: the bomber. This is def a case of flaunt what you've got: if you have a classic wool version, that'll do just as well as an a la Carmella satin piece. If you have a bright color, go for it! If you own a jewel tone, rock that. Ditto a print (you cool thing you). If all you own is a neutral, break it out, babe! Even black over black will work here, due to the difference in textures; you'll just want to make sure you create a spark via your accessories. Carmella completed her look with sneakers. If you live in a place where the weather is cooperating, by all means do the sneaker! Any pair that includes one of the colors that is also in your bomber is a go. Unless you have a neutral bomber, in which case, have at your bad self - no holds barred. Spray paint a sneaker if you have to (just kidding. But yes, you can actually do that.:)). If sneakers are out of the question, or if a little less sporty is what thrills you, go for boots - a simple, flat ankle boot with a knee-length or above dress, something heeled with a long one (make sure the shaft goes higher than the dress' hemline). A choker (I dare you to try a leopard one!), bold short pendant and/or baseball cap are Carmella-approved accessory options. Pick your passion: one, two, all or none. Happy styling!
