I am not over my little lovefest with the sparkly bomber...not quite yet :). I mentioned when I discussed Maria's wearing of it that I could envision a whole plethora of possibilities for it. Obvi, a bold piece like this lends itself to parties, concerts and similar fancy-cool occasions. But, I don't think it needs to be consigned to holidays and the like. I would definitely also dress a piece like this down by pairing it with skinny jeans (distressing optional) or moto pants. For warmer days, keep the casual coming by layering the sparkles over a super-chill graphic or band tee - the more worn-in, the better! When it's cooler, layer an oversize, slouchy sweater below. Alternatively, do things in a more sophisticated way: go with a form-fitting tee or ribbed body-con sweater underneath. The slimmer fit will give the look a much more refined feel. We know Maria looooves her stilettos and I completely agree - this outfit could easily be finished with a pair of pointy toe pumps. (If the ones pictured look familiar, it's because they're the Kendall+Kylie Abi which we've seen Charlotte wearing like crazy all summer. I liked the fashion-forward feel of the cutout side to complete this urban look). On the other hand, you could round off the pairing with ankle booties for a more casual vibe. I went with a simple-leaning-toward-fierce zippered pair, but you could make this outfit even more relaxed by going with a lug-soled boot here. The hiker/biker connotation would add a tougher edge, making a nice counterpoint to the shine. The trick to wearing sequins and shine during the day is to let the sheen be the statement. Skip the accessories and keep the rest of the palette neutral. I would absolutely wear a look like this to dinner at a non-formal restaurant, shopping, or to the movies. Depending on how casual/creative your workplace is, you might even get away with it there (just stick with non-distressed denim). Lastly, if the sequins seem a tad over the top to you, try a bomber done in fabric with sheen, such as satin. That will give you the same fancy-sporty vibe, but with a lower glare level that's even more versatile. I hope this inspires you to get your shine on sometime soon, Fancies! XO
