A. hairstyle can make a huge difference to an outfit : a sweet style can be a counterpoint to a masculine-tinged ensemble, a casual look can dress down a formal piece, a more sophisticated styling can elevate something casual. That last concept is one we've been seeing several ladies do lately: we saw Charlotte play with the concept in mid-Sept, while Maria worked with the same idea here. It's a fun one to explore, so. let's! Maria's summery short-sleeved dress with its imprinted saying on the front is about as casual as it gets. But she dressed the look up a bit by pairing it with a chic and complex up-do. I've re-envisioned the look slightly, changing the dress to a long-sleeved sheath that's more autumn-appropriate and choosing a wordless piece that’s a bit more versatile This type of dress will work fabulously in any neutral shade. Pair it with boots to keep the casual vibe. I went with leather knee boots, but ankle booties would be equally appropriate. Add tights underneath when the weather gets chillier. Next, the crucial factor: the up-do! This doesn’t have to be complicated (but it can be, if that’s your jazz ;)). A low bun with tendrils, or a French knot/French twist (trust me, it’s faster and easier to do than it looks!) says “chic” and “sophisticated” with very little time commitment – always a good thing, right? ;). Finish the look off with an on point choker or scarf knotted at your neck. Or skip the glimmer and just go minimal. Sometimes it’s fun to be fancy, so give your inner princess some room to sashay! Hope you give this look a try some time soon :). Happy fashioning!
