No winter doldrums here; it's all about fashion and having fun with textures we can't play with all summer long :). I loved this look from Naomi as soon as I saw it! The contrasting neutrals and themes made it pop right off the screen. Since sweater dresses are the new thing, I re-imagined her gray sheath as a textured knit and skipped the sparkle for a more-winter-less holiday-ish feel. Warm-toned hiking boots -with a bit of knit showing, or a shearling lining, or even some scrunched socks :) - bring in the contrasting neutral that's so attractive. An intarsia hat helps pull everything together by uniting several brown and gray tones. The touch of burgundy even functions as a variation on the burnished oak color. Since this look is more casual than Naomi's, I played up the boho feel by adding a wood and bead pendant. A feathered necklace, a dream-catcher pendant, beads-and-brass...any of that would be perfect! It's all about keeping a laidback, free-spirit feel, against the strong presence of the cabled knit. Using a dress is the only touch of formality and it's the cornerstone for the artistic tension of the look. Maybe today is a good day to play with a sweater dress :) Happy styling!
