Inspiration Board: Romantic Pink & Gray a la Lana

If something beautiful and flirty is your vibe, Lana's look is probably just the thing to inspire your date night style! I love the smooth, flowy mix of silk with the pretty pattern of lace. She paired her pink-on-pink combo with gray suede OTK's, which looked amazing! So, def think about rocking those with a lace mini, if ya got one! I wanted to re-envision this soft color palette, though, using some more practical and probably-in-your-closet items. A gray lace skirt of almost any silhouette - pencil, A-line, mermaid- and length -mini, midi, maxi- can be paired with a pale silk blouse (again, I'd layer favorite Icebreaker base piece underneath) to recreate Lana's play between smooth and patterned. I couldn't resist topping this look with a Lana-esque faux fur coat, but a wool swing coat or peacoat will add warmth as well, while looking appropriately formal. Silver pumps make a pretty (and much more practical) option than gray suede boots. Alternatively, if you have slim-heeled black booties, you can use those too - just add another touch of black somewhere: purse, bracelet, earrings, even your watchband. Perhaps, instead of gray, you've collected yourself a pink lace (or tulle or scalloped or otherwise femme and flirty) skirt along your shopping way. In that case, this is the perfect time to explore the gray-and-pink scenario by pairing it with a chunky gray sweater. Finish it with nude lace-up heels..or metallic flats for you gals who abso don't do heels :) Any light colored-coat will top this combo nicely, while maintaining the soft color palette. You can accessorize with rose gold baubles, or silver - especially if you've used metallic shoes- , or even gold and crystal since the gold picks up the warmth of the pink. Oh the options!
