Sasha's latest photoshoot look had a couple really interesting aspects that can be drawn on for a day-to-casual-night outfit. One is the color story and the other is the pairing of studs with suede! We often see studs with leather for a rocker-type feel, but using suede makes the vibe much more laidback. The texture of the suede is less rebellious and assertive, more vintage Americana and down-to-earth. The studs still inject some attitude though! ;) Sasha plays up the vaquero-luxury dynamic with her choice of colors: caramel and mahogany popped with fiery red. The brown shades she uses tend toward the golden and red side of the brown spectrum, rather than toward grays and taupes. The warmth of these tones works fabulously with the intensity of the red. While Sasha chose suede pants, I've found a suede skirt to be a bit more versatile and wearable, so I re-envisioned the outfit that way. If skirts aren't your thing, you can get a roughly similar vibe with light-wash distressed denim now and corduroys later. You can do this pairing her way, with a scorching red corset...or go for a more accessible red tee. For fit, either slim or slouchy will do. The exclamation point on this outfit is the studded belt, so make sure you rock a killer one! Choose your fave shade of brown and bring on the metal. Hardware is your friend, be it brass/gold, silver, oxidized: it's all good. Sasha demo's a mid-width piece, but you can go wider or narrower; it's the flash that matters ;). If studs aren't your thing or in your wardrobe yet, you can get a similar look from a piece with complex laser cutting (choose florals or organic patterns, rather than something angular and modern), tooled leather with an artisanal pattern or whip-stitching. If you're not in Texas or a similar toasty clime, top this look with a coordinating suede jacket. If you own a chocolate leather piece, feel free to grab that. A budget-friendly option is ivory denim, which will keep the same dusty-glamorous vibe. Complete the look with brown ankle booties - the more broken in, the better! Chunky and/or low heels work flawlessly here, as do flat boots. For an extra shot of color or texture, add a bandana or braided leather/beaded bracelet at your wrist. Hope this inspires you to try the it-girl-gone-ranching styling! Happy Fashioning :)
