It's been really tough to catch up with Impact 'shoots lately. They've done - quite frankly - a lousy job of making shoots easy to find and cohesive. As a result, we're getting bits and fits and starts of things. Come on, Impact: get it together already! Suddenly popping up on the radar are these shots form the baseball shoot done last fall. We get a simple, sporty ensemble from Jade: a zip front, color-block sports bra paired with plain black shorts. I like this combo; the simplicity packs a punch. I don't mind her chunky combat boots, but I'd have looooved if she kicked the fierce up with slim-heeled booties (like these). Marti also rocks this athletic look with a black and white halter-style top and black hip-huggers. I really like the pairing of her over-the-knee socks and sneakers; it's cute and mod at the same time! She also gets props for the swinging-the-bat pose! It's fab...and I think she's the only lady to do it, at least based on what we've seen so far. Rebel also chose the over-the-knee sock look, going with a sheer-striped pair and matching them with platform heels. She completely works the flirty, flippy mini skirt and pairing it with an open-weave mesh top is one of my favorite combos of this set! It looks really fresh and trendy. Swap the platforms for leather ankle booties and add an oversized denim jacket and this look would be channeling iconic 80's Madonna...very cool! We already got a glimpse of Velvet's outfit, but here we get to see more, like all her tied skull scarves, the full effect of her fishnets...and the fact that she didn't forget her trademark pop of pink ;). Her crystal neon rose platforms are straight outta TBP. As usual, she nails the pose! I don't think an KO out there is as consistent with smashing poses as Vel. #ItsAnArt We also already saw a couple of shots from this shoot of Gail's, where she's all about the black leather. There's even a hood involved in some shots. The whole thing has a dark, warrior-glam vibe, which I would L.O.V.E as a direction for Gail's style and could definitely envision being more fully developed and explored. Fingers crossed we get to see some of that :). In the meantime, this pic was too gorge not to share!
Jade and Marti are back to their Dollhouse playful craziness in these next couple of snaps, which seem to be preludes to a full shoot? Or perhaps just Impact-crumbs? Who knows :), but we'll review what we can get and be happy! When putting so many colors (blue, lime, hot pink, yellow) and prints (plaid, houndstooth, leopard) together, there's a very fine fashion line that has to be walked to not look crazy, way too busy, like a hot mess or all three. I think these two looks pull it off -more by a nose than a furlong perhaps, but they do. They're both help dramatically by the super-simple white background that serves as a refreshing break from everything going on with the clothing. I really like the combo of houndstooth with plaid in Jade's look; it has a vaguely Brit-schoolgirl theme that ties it together, and the bits of black, like the white background, simplify things and make it hang together. Marti's look has much more of an 80's popstar feel. The way she's styled it is fun and exuberant, and fits with the joyful, effervescent poses that she and Jade have put together. I'd also love to see her try it without the leopard bra showing, and with a pair of blue leather pointy pumps replacing her sneakers for a bit more of an Ariana-Grande-meets-Jem-And-The-Holograms vibe ;)
