WWE has been celebrating the anniversary of The Undertaker (aka The Deadman...and SO many other beloved names..sigh. #Nostalgia ..Sorry. I'm a Taker mark. Admit it with pride. Always and forever. 'Til.. death do us part. Or beyond. Ha ;).) One thing they've done that is a total #MustSee is a gallery of sketches for ideas for Undertaker costumes and merch. The gallery is WICKED cool...and you can get to it here. So go check that out. Another thing they've done is an entiiiiiiiire photo gallery of Divas dressing all Deadman-style. Ooooooo! :) So, yeah..we were just talking about black on black yesterday with a lil' inspiration from Madison Rayne and here we go again with that look. There is just about every variation you can imagine. Natalya kicks things off with what is actually a very classic dress, although it's tough to tell at first glance under all that hardware. This chic LBD has a flirty front slit, but things get distinctly more hardcore from there. She's added a sleeved shrug that makes me think of her entrance gear, and then accessorized with a chain and leather belt, as well as a metal, chain and grommetted-leather-strapped choker that is hella fierce. Emphasis on the HELLa :). A plastic mesh hairband and leather gloves complete her look. Sadly, we don't get to see her shoes...but I'm thinking studded pumps would totally fit the "too fierce to take your BS" vibe she's rocking. Nattie doesn't give us a huge range of facials, but the ones she does are spot on: serious and brooding. Like Nattie, Renee starts her look off with a dress, a cutout mini number with satin side panels. She adds a drapey infinity scarf which is a flawless idea! A black patent leather belt defines her wait. These piece show how texture - ranging form the smooth, shiny patent to the slightly nubby scarf - is important when going with a monochrome look. Drizzled silver chains add a dash more flash. I completely LOVE her safety pin necklace! This was a huge look from the runways about a year ago and this kind of styling is the perfect use for it. (Hint: lends itself perfectly to a DIY project!). She's also one of the few Divas to bring in a touch of color, with her dark red I-can't-quite-tell-what-it-is accessory. Also noteworthy are her gold-hardware embellished mid-calf booties (so in love with the mid-calf look rn), the spider-web hosiery (used by several Divas) and her pretty hairstyle. My favorite shots are when she pulls the scarf up over her head like a hood, a la The Ministry era! #Awesome
Summer goes for a completely different ensemble, choosing a wrap top over a black brassiere (c'mon: you know 'brassiere' sounds soooo much sexier than 'bra' ;)), paired with black..ahem..briefs and sheer lace bell bottom leggings. I've gotta say: those leggings are seeeeeriously hot! And you could make them work in real life by wearing a second pair of leggings underneath. She adds what looks like two belts to the waist: a wide ladder-type stretch belt and a narrower glittered one. She also used a satin shrug with a garter-esque connection to her plastic glove. She also added a bit more texture via a mesh glove and a chain bracelet. The whole look comes off as dark, gothic sexy and it's entrancing! It's very unique and gorgeous in a doomed, "love me and despair" kind of way. The only thing I wish she'd done is kept to that idea for her poses. SHe treats this more like a fashion shoot and really lets it go, taking more risks and more daring risks than weve ever seen her do before: touching her face, playing with her hair - it's FABULOUS. But I wish she'd done it on a fashion shoot and gone for some expressions that were a bit moodier here. What she wins hands down for me is "Best Shoes". Glitter platform cage booties? OMG yaaaaas. I am so in. More Dead Ahead review all through the weekend! (Cut me some slack - it's 9 outfits, y'all! :) ) Also, fashionofthedivas has found a fair number of the items sued in the shoot, so check their tumblr site out!
