Oh yes, the Big Dub has done it again: the Questionable Christmas Sweatshirt Photoshoot. Why have I put all the black sweatshirts together, you ask? It's symbolic ...of the fashion blogger's hell I just died and visited. Thank you so so much, WWE, for inflicting this torture on me another year. Ok, I get it. There are people out there who LOVE this kind of thing. Of all those people, none of them are me. Straight up: stuff like this makes my eyes bleed. 'k? I said it. Merry Freaking Christmas. I suppose, if I'm searching (like archaeological dig kind of searching) for a silver lining, these are helped - marginally- by the fact that they're really Superstar and Diva merch as opposed to being just really not so aesthetically awesome sweaters. As always, I give the Divas HUUUUUUUGE props for a)actually wearing these and b) allowing themselves to be photographed wearing these. ..All grimacing and joking aside, I know this shoot is all in good fun. I shall endeavor to enter into said spirit of fun. *knocks on door of Spirit of Fun and is immediately carded* Alicia's sweatshirt is one of my faves. It makes a creditable attempt to turn bad fashion into bad-a$$ fashion. Seriously, no one is going to laugh at Brock Lesnar. When I come to grips with the idea that this is not a fashion shoot and it's just silly and fun, things improve dramatically. First, this pose of Foxy's it HAWT and an immediate eye-catcher. I thought of Tyra Banks in a heartbeat: so fierce! That fierce snowballs (see, I'm getting more holiday-ish :D) when we get to her massive statement ring, which I love. Foxy has been a fan of the statement ring for pretty much ever and I am totally with her on that. They elevate any outfit.-.even silly Christmas sweaters- and let the world know that you DO know what you're doing when it comes to style, no matter how much you're concurrently being goofy and repping stuff. Foxy, you are a life saver! I also like the Nikki Bella sweatshirt that Eden has chosen. There's something about having a big "Fearless" caption on your clothing that lends gravity and coolness to it. Eden plays the poses straight and simple here and comes off as down-to-earth and sweet in this shoot. As always, she looks gorgeous - I'm loving her pink cheeks and cranberry lip shade! Paige lets loose and has some fun with her poses, as she wears her very own "Paige's House" sweatshirt. This one is helped by the non-traditional coloring Since it doesn't immediately come off a holiday sweater, you get the effect of it's Paige-y-ness (yes, I just made up a word. Deal with it) more than it's holiday-ness and that is a very good thing The purple with the gray is a great color combo, and it's particularly rocks when paired with her blue hair. This one you could definitely get away with wearing all winter long. See...it's beginning to look more like Christmas as we go. Heeeeeeeere's all the traditional colors!
Brie's sweatshirt, like Paige's, is helped by the non-traditional pink and the Brie Mode logo makes it as cool as a questionable sweatshirt can get..while it's keeping you warm. Unlike most of the other Divas, Brie pairs hers with a fun gray mélange skirt with a fantastic texture to it. She adds a few touches of simple, casusal jewelry and manages to make this piece look like a solid part of a street-fashion cool-girl look. I have no idea how she does that. It's completely impossible, yet she pulls it off again and again. #AllHailBrie Jojo's white sweatshirt keeps the classic holiday colors, but the light background makes it unique. She keeps everything else around it simple and natural, from her makeup to her hair to her poses. It's about as cute as a sweatshirt like this can ever get. Sasha's monster pose immediately made me smile. And after looking at all these sweatshirts, that was quite a feat! Props, Sash! She chose a red homage to the Ultimate Warrior and then threw us a curve ball by going with bright, deep-sky-blue leggings! The overall effect is more "laid-back" and "comfy" than "Holiday Celebration" and that works quite well. One great thing about Naomi's John Cena sweatshirt is that bright green is kind of one of his colors anyway, so, like Brie's and Paige's, the piece doesn't immediately look like a holiday thing, which improves it immeasurably. This is a fantastic color on Nay-Nay and a fun change from the more common red. I love her multi-braid pigtails! They are a flawless choice for a chill 'shoot like this! PS should you...eh...wish to purchase one of these ...uh...items, they are actually available here. I suppose, maybe as a gift...in lieu of coal :)
