This outfit doesn't seem to be overly superhero-y, but it does constitute a really solid effort from Mandy. Sometimes I feel like she focuses too much on the sexy side of her look and doesn't balanced it out with something a bit more controlled. Here, however, her form-fitting dress sports a mod and somewhat conservative high neck, which evens out the bodycon silhouette. OTK's bring some fierce! She keeps her jewelry slim for a hint of flash. Her poses are standards, but done with poise and confidence. Emma channels the Superman vibe with this red cutout dress. The studs add an unexpected dimension and catch some light, which works nicely with the 'shoot's theme. Her dark lip is a huge asset to conveying the mystery and drama of the scene, making it one of my favorite elements of her look. I would have been interested to see her carry that feel further via a smoky eye. I'm imagining fiercesome black leather ankle booties completing this look :) Eva Marie's classic white cropped tee and jeans combo is fantastic...but I'm also pretty sure it falls into the "photoshopped onto this background" category because I think I've seen this outfit before. With her red hair, these snaps immediately make me think of Independence Day and these poses certainly have the makings of a killer Fourth Of July photoshoot. How sad that they were employed here instead. Ah, c'est la vie. Nice job by Eva, though. Summer's look jumps off the screen due to the unusual material of her dress: crushed velvet isn't something we see a whole lot of in fashion, from the Divas or otherwise. However, velvet began to have a moment last fall and, consequently, pieces like this become available. When velvet it crushed, the lushness of the original cloth remains, but a beautiful sheen is created as well, making it a truly standout fabric. The way it reflects light works flawlessly for this 'shoot, adding depth to the already smoky and torn-up background. The burgundy shade creates a stunning contrast as well. The off-shoulder styling is spot on-trend and creates a femme fatale vibe, which is helped along by her pale make-up and sultry swept-over-eye hairstyle. Her set is one of the most successful in this 'shoot.
Renee's cutout envelope-style dress is a head-turner! The brilliant vermillion shade immediately conjures up the idea of Superman's cape. The silhouette of this dress is modern and strong - definitely super-hero-worthy! As with Summer's dress, it pops off the background with a wonderful contrast to the hazy blue. Her poses are simple and classically sexy. In fact, the snaps are nearly flawless. I would change only one element: her shoe color. This deep nude feels a touch drab to me. A metallic or bright white would have added just the right exclamation point. Still, this is a really pretty set, well worth a look and excellent work by Renee overall.
