Several of the lady Superstars (and friends ;)) celebrated the beginning of tailgating season with an outdoor party...and some red, white and blue-themed fashion :). It looked like one heck of a good time! The shots captured the "anything goes as long as it's fun and/or funny" spirit of a tailgating adventure. The complexity of the scenery seemed to curtail the ladies' posing somewhat and made some snaps a bit less cohesive than might be ideal. However, in other shots, the mix worked well. This was a 'shoot idea we haven't seen recently, if ever; the closest I recall was a set of car wash photos. So, props to whoever(s) came up with the concept. Overall, I think it worked well and gave a bunch of ladies a chance to show off their personalities ...and their fashion sense. Speaking of which :)... Alexa layered a ripped and torn navy sports bra over a heather gray one. The idea works really well and looks straight up cool, as well as catching the current athletic trend. She matched it with fun American flag-meets-denim shorts for an updated Americana look and then finished things off with caramel leather wedge open-toe sandals. the chunky style gave something of a boho vibe to this look. the laidback feel was perfectly in keeping with her outfit and made a change from the expected sneakers.
Carmella nailed the vibe of this 'shoot, pairing a cherry red football jersey- complete with shoulder pads! - with high-waisted distressed jeans in a light blue wash. Her white sneakers with their contrasting black laces added a nice spike of attitude and surprise to the look. Her backwards baseball cap references 90's fashion and also happens to look completely killer. The whole ensemble is spot on! Naomi leaned toward red for her outfit, pairing red shorts with a matching top, cut wide so that it fell off her shoulders, for a fun twist on a standard silhouette. I wouldn't have minded if she had worn the piece on one shoulder and falling off the other for a sexy 80's feel, but this works too. The way she styled the piece allows her denim bustier (a top we've seen previously - she gets props for the re-use!) to peek out. She completed the look with pristine white sneakers. I love how she spiced her look up with lime polish on her left hand and gorgeous orange eyeshadow! That color is AMAZING and I hope we get to see more of it on her! Renee tends to gravitate toward casually cool pieces and the proclivity stands her in good stead. Her outfit is the most minimal in terms of pieces, but it's major on style! She pairs a chambray cami with white denim shorts. The cami allows her black bra straps to peek out - a look that doesn't fly everywhere, but the laidback, sexy vibe of which is perfect for this kind of event. She coordinates her simple black choker with them and adds a tiny pendant. The additional detail makes a nice touch in this edited pairing. She brings in a hint of a boho with beige suede ankle boots and a touch of a spark with her bright red bracelet. I love the way this combination has that "I never try too hard" quality about it; it looks as though fabulosity just comes naturally to her..which I think it pretty much does :).
