A number of the Lady Superstars (DIVAS! Had to get that in there. Sorry not sorry ;)) paid tribute to D-Generation X (DX for short) for the stables' 20th anniversary in a recent photoshoot for WWE.com. If you're a new WWE fan, it might be hard to feel the impact DX had, but they were 100% awesome and hilarious and you need to check out some of their old skits on youtube. Also their wrestling :). DX went through various configurations, but it's anchor members were Triple H and Shawn Michaels, so they're the two I think of when anyone mentions DX. And that's not all I think of -in addition to the innuendo-laden humor, the duo created several infamous catchphrases and gestures ("Let's get ready to s**k it!", "If you're not down with that, I've got two words for ya: s**k it!", the crotch chop, the crossed-arm 'X'). The ladies have paid accurate homage to many of them, including Naomi doing the glow-stick version of the X and Bayley doing the crossed-arm symbol. Charlotte and Becky put their own spin on the iconic duo's repertoire, re-styling it as Tea-Generation X, complete with sipping hand gestures. It should be silly, but it comes off as quite cute and an appropriate homage to the kind of terrible pun Shawn and Trips loved and utilized habitually. Sasha wins Fierce points for nailing Shawn's signature smug stance, while Charlotte gets a ladle-full for re-creating the duo's trademark flex. The dress code is 100% DX-approved: it's all variations of DX shirts (tees, tanks and cut-up muscle tops) paired with denim (Naomi went for killer side-lace-up shorts, Becky and Charlotte for full-length styles, all in classic blue wash) or ring gear (Sasha chose her ivory, black and gold shorts, while Bayley went for her cerulean, baby pink and gold pants). The ladies did an awesome job of capturing the wise-cracking, in-your-face attitude of WWE's somewhat smarmy, but incredibly successful degnerate duo! Definitely go check it out. And if you're not down with that...well, I've got two words for ya: sip it! (or stick it...or style it...or..heck I could do this all day :))

Carmella's graphic tee paired with camo pants is yet another iteration of the look that has become her trademark. She has a wonderful sense of what clothing elements work for her style and character. And she always injects enough je ne se quoi into her styling to make it look more put together than random - casually put together, but put together nonetheless. The low waisted pant silhouette, with her leopard unmentionables showing, gives me throwback, Lita-esque vibes. However, paired with sneakers, the skinnies feel very right now, with that delightful urbanity I've always loved in Carmella's style. What really gives this look it's punch, though, is the mahogany smoky eye and nude lip combo. It's almost startling in the way that it draws attention to her pretty eyes and I'm ttly loving the effect!
Charlotte attended the International Licensing Expo in Las Vegas wearing this swingy mulberry mini dress. I'm wild over this gorgeous, unique color, as well as the way this silhouette works on Charlotte. A fairly straight dress like this, in a soft, flowy fabric obscures curves, but draws attention to the legs. That makes highlighting them with a pair of killer heels a flawless choice -which is exactly what Charlotte has done here with these strappy sandal-booties. I love how the wide, almost industrial, vibe of the straps contrast with the softness of her dress. This is a flawlessly styled, A+ look from Char! Next up is a black monochrome look with a front lace-up detail. The picture lightning and quality makes an exact id tough, but I'd bet on this being a burnout velvet piece. Add leggings or skinny jeans and pointy-toe ankle booties and unleash your inner Dark Queen! I love that this is such a different style from the dress, but that both looks feel completely at-home on Charlotte. She keeps the casual going by pairing a Ric Flair tee with skinny jeans and the same ankle booties. She completed the look with a cropped biker jacket and oversize aviators. The change in tops gives this a more laidback, urban vibe, but she rocks it just as hard! Cathy looked casually trendy as she combined this off-the-shoulder cutout top from Parker with medium wash denim skinny jeans from Madewell. So many of the current offerings of off-shoulder tops have ruffles and other frilly details that I'm loving this pared-down iteration that lets the silhouette do all the taking. I also love the hint of lightness gained by choosing blue denim over black. She finished the look with nude pumps, which works, although I'd have loved a simple black strappy sandal. She embraced the stripe trend with her next ensemble, which paired another off-the-shoulder top with dark jeans. It's hard to tell if these are black or blue, but considering her choice of a gold metallic pointy pump to finish the look, I'd have gone with blue. With shoe fiends everywhere doing almost nothing but nude lately, I'm enjoying her switch to a metallic, particularly since the polished gold contrasts with the breezy vibe of the stripes. This has been a fantastic year for gear in WWE! We have divas all over the place evolving, inventing and really pushing the envelope with their gear. It's been an amazing ride. The only downside is that we now, somehow, have to pick the top three - ugh. I mean, it's a good problem to have though :). How did we finally resolve said problem? Read on to find out!
Woohoo! The hottest party of the Summer is happening... Tonight! Summerslam is one of the biggest PPV's WWE puts on every year, and because of that, we usually get some pretty exciting, unique, and head turning gear from the women superstars. Before we see what the lovely ladies bring to the table tonight, let's look back at past SummerSlam years and some memorable ensembles. 2013 - Brie Bella
Briiiiieeee Moooooddeeee! Goodness, I miss that. Brie totally killed it back in 2013 with this vintage inspired gear. The black, white, and red color scheme is text-book Bella style, and I adore the long, red gloves she added for her entrance. Do you see those tiny bows on her wrists? Adorable! This gear was before Brie moved away from her trademark ruffle boot covers, but I love how the trim matches her high waisted shorts. Now, the really cool fact about this gear is that you could actually own it yourself... because it's a swim suit! That's right! I couldn't find it anymore, but I remember when she debuted this gear, people found the exact same suit online. It would be like owning a little piece of SummerSlam, and Bella Twins, fashion history. There's always room around here for some gear-love and we're celebrating the MITB ring-ensemble stylishness with this FashionHap.
Charlotte kicked things off with an amethyst version of her Wrestlemania look. I love this color combination just as much! It's luxe and oh so beautiful, visually cohesive and artistically stunning. Char has a talent for choosing colors that work brilliantly, both on her and within the backdrop and it's in evidence again here. And this gorgeous design is just as compelling as in its previous variation. Lana wore a magnificent blue and silver attire that she gave us a chance to break down in-depth in her Slayed By The Blue photoshoot here. When her in-ring skills catch up to her fashion skills, she is going to be a devastating competitor :) I can't wait! Carmella literally floored me with this look! I was wondering what she was going to do to turn her Staten Island Priciness look into something special for MITB and did she ever deliver! The metallic mint and ice green was a surprising and aesthetically appealing choice that I instantly loved -even before I realized the pattern was made from money. Omg -so brilliant! It has that designer vibe that has been so prevalent lately of making a beautiful-looking print out of a whimsical pattern. In addition, it's utterly befitting of her character. The black printed waistband was another designer nod that felt appropriately street-worthy, as did the sports-bralette styling of her top. She completed the look with white sneakers that were a perfect finish. Magnificent job! Becky has the right idea with the medieval-warrior direction her look is taking. It just seems to be taking a bit to come to full fruition. From Chandra Nalaar to Ygritte-meets-Angel Dust with a dash of Merida, she seems like a concoction of lovable fighter characters that just needs that one ingredient, that unifying conceptual direction to crystallize into the one true Becky. This wide-belted leather trench is a flawless example of the good. It's medieval, yet modern, tough but with a swirling yin power that makes her look like a warrior queen. The maxi dress is such a great summer outfit - so easy, work appropriate or play appropriate, simple to change from day to night and cray comfy. Prints just make it that much more fun. Florals, dots, toiles: they all add a different vibe to
the standard monochrome look. They also open up some new ground for throwing in that twist that creates the stylish je ne se quoi that makes a look stand out. The way Charlotte took this semi-floral print dress and made it work overtime by dressing down with flat sandals is a look I can totally get behind! Don't you just get so tired of pants sometimes? A maxi makes a great way to change things up. Char went with a simple metallic thong, which works perfectly with the femme, floaty vibe of her cap-sleeve, full-length piece. It's easy to gravitate to certain neutrals; I reach for metallics plenty often myself. And here, their shine hits just the right balance of fancy and carefree. On the other hand, you can easily branch out into more unusual pairings. While a neutral is a safe choice with a multi-colored floral, you can make a bigger splash by choosing one of the colors in the print for your shoe shade. Don't fear a tangential tone, either. The red in this dress is quite muted, but a vibrant cherry tone looks fab and makes a distinctive statement. So, fire things up: accent soft spring green with bright lime, pale aqua with neon turquoise, light mauve with magenta. The obvious choice for this black and blue print would be a black sandal. Chic, but who hasn't done it? And it takes the look in a more somber direction. For a lighter, summery twist, consider a so-hot-right-now bright white sandal instead. Go with a fierce, strappy style that brings some attitude, or a try carefree espadrille. The contrast of the white against the blue and black gives the look a big pop. A standout color (think orange, bright pink, yellow) would work similarly. Or, do a neutral... but an unexpected one! Instead of pairing this polka dot dress with classic navy or white, go with a jute-toned shoe. Give it a vintage beach-resort vibe with sandals, or a modern cool-girl feel via sneakers. Whatever you choose, try making a shoe change-up part of it. Think of what you usually do and wear anything but. Surprise yourself. Experiment! And have fun :) Happy styling, loves! First, I apologize for the extreme tardiness of this review...and I take back every griping thing I ever said about Joey Styles. Then again, he gets paid to get the pics up and I don't earn zip from this labor of love I fit in around life, animals and a real job. So, actually, I don't take back anything I said about him after all :). Second, I'm laughing at myself as I'm posting this review. You would never believe how many times I've re-done the collages because my placements keep changing as I analyze and weight the looks. This is HARD, babes! Every year, so many ladies come out here and slay and somehow I have to distill it all into some kind of order. It's cray! And it's also fun. And I'm usually hella proud of the list when I finally get done, probably because I fight so hard to make it accurate and justify each placing. As always, I feel the need to mention that I madly adore each of these divas and root for all of them to rock the ravishing red lane of fame. I love it every time they do! That being said...
