Hello, Brandi, killing it as usual! :) She attended a Cointreau soiree in August, along with Cody, wearing this simple black monochrome ensemble. She made it much more than simple, however, by adding this floral textured clutch! I love how the spike of formality and luxe elevates this look! Her azalea lips shade adds just the right whisper of color. We see a similar all-black combo from Eva Marie, with a very different vibe. Her slim pencil skirt if paired with a cropped cutout collar top and edgy black sandals. the whole vibe is tougher and brassier than Brandi's look, though equally modern. Don't you love how such similar elements can still create such incredibly different styles? (PS the top, skirt and aviators are all part of her NEM fashion line). I always have a special place in my fashionable heart for the ladies who can do it all. They turn their hand from look to look without even the slightest loss of competence. Lana is one of those. Here, she goes straight up rocker for us, in a look that's def one of my recent favs! She pairs daring black and white striped pants with a black top and a cropped leather jacket. The pants are bold, but everything else is subtle and it strikes precisely the right style balance! The city background enhances the look and the angle - Lana's blonde beauty in motion as she passes through the sight line - make this candid shot photoshoot-worthy. Alexa makes her presence felt again, this time catching our attention with this white cutout dress. The embellished crossed belt at the front is so pretty - and makes me smile: it seem Alexa always manages to get her touch of glam into a look...and I love that! Wedge pumps complete here look. I can ttly see black pointy toe pumps working as well. Charlotte went for a slip dress during her time in Sydney and I like her variation of the trend. Architectural black sandals finished the look. I've noticed Charlotte wearing this bar necklace quite often, and jewelry not overly much, so I am beginning to wonder if she prefers pieces with personal meaning. If that's isn't/weren't the case, I could see adding a choker to this look for a little more amperage.

With wearing gold being in the headlines every day due to the Rio Olympics, I thought it would be fun to take a look at how gold fits into a wardrobe ...even when one isn't able to pull off a full-in-double-back and stick it ;). The ladies of WWE and TNA have definitely managed to find some use for it! And why not? Gold conveys so much: luxury, glamour, fierceness, boldness. It's metallic shimmer enhances nealry any combination, but it's powerful enough in it's own right to provide the statement for an otherwise simple look. Barbie's shining monokini would definitely catch some eyes at the beach, but it's her pointy-toe pumps that win big with me! Shoes are one of my favorite ways to do metallic; they act as a neutral that's not black, bringing brightness and a touch of glam to any outfit. They're easy to blend as well: coordinate with your jewelry, or the color tone of the outfit. Sasha's statement dress is a flawless choice for cocktail hour. The gold really enlivens the black bodice and classic silhouette. Since weddings have been front and center around here lately, if you're wondering about this piece: yes, it could be worn to a night semi-formal or black-tie optional event ...I'd suggest going for a statement necklace that doesn't say "BOSS", though ;). Eva's metallic gold pants really spiked her crop top+skinnies pairing and would be a fab option for a night at the bar. I'm also a fan of her gold-accented sandals; the metallic bar is looking like it's a thing right now and the fierce flash it creates makes a strappy sandal like this super-versatile. Michelle let her glam shine with this sequined tank top. A sequined piece or two is always a good thing for a girl to have in her wardrobe for adding formality to everything from denim to pencil skirts. I especially love how Michelle paired this top with pearl accents - the creamy shimmer plays well against the bright sparkle of the gold. Barbie also showed her love for gold with this elegant metallic embroidered dress. Gold goes through various iterations from the bold, over-the-top sheen of lame to subtler usages, such as this. If you're building a wardrobe, stay with something along these lines - artisanal elegance will remain chic and current long after many envelope-pushing trends have faded. Eve went for the gold in this lace-up-detailed bikini and rocked it - proof that gold works as well in two pieces as in one. If you're mixing solid gold separates in real life, you can soften the blaze of the metallic by topping them with a neutral blazer or cardigan. Conversely, you can bring massive sparks to an all-neutral look by topping them with a gold coat, a la Maryse. It's amazing how many shades can be enhanced by gold: black, navy, red, burgundy, ivory, white, almond and khaki can all handle a shot of golden glimmer quite nicely. If a true "glimmer" is all you're craving, try doing gold Brooke's way: with delicate jewelry. Consider a body chain with right outfit (generally simple canvases that let the detail of the chain stand out), or multiple, layered slim necklaces. Lana proves that gold isn't just for pumps: metallic sandals are definite requirements for summer, and all-season dressy events. Pair them with a gown, pair them with destroyed denim..or get crazy and pair them with a strappy, bandage monokini as you lounge poolside at a five-star resort, sipping champagne and plotting which corner of the universe you're going to take over next :). In many cases, raw, gorgeous gold is best done in controlled brush strokes, rather than with a paint roller, but sometimes, letting your gold flag fly is better yet! Maria always leans toward making a yuuuge statement, so her choice of a full-on sequined mini dress is just what we'd expect from her fashionable Ladyship. Proms, holiday and late night parties and being leader of the KO's division all lend themselves to unadulterated glamour. Then again, maybe you want to play up gold's luxury in your look. For that, take a tip from Taryn and pair it with rich, seductive fur - a vest for spring and fall or a coat for winter. If you're feeling like a rock star, keep following Taryn's lead and add a black fringe necklace or dark, grunge-y hematite pieces and a pair of OTK boots. If you're feeling more "heiress", go for a crystal jewelry and classic sandals. Either way, show some Olympic spirit and go for gold in your fashion!
Eva Marie is following the Bella's lead. She recently teased her upcoming fashion line via an Instagram snap of her photoshoot for the new brand. It will be called NEM Fashion and, like the Bella's Birdiebee lingerie line, it will feature a pay-it-forward marketing concept. If these pics are indicative of the line's vibe, it should be straight up Eva Marie style: on-trend and super sexy! We can't wait for more info...and the launch :)
So, we ttly loved and adored WWE's recent bikini-laden gallery of hot bodies. Truly, we did. In addition to bikinis, though, warm days and sunshine get us thinking about muscles and fitness and sweating and all that sexy stuff ;). And we thought that maybe a more inspirational gallery was in order. We envisioned something that appealed not just to our aesthetic appreciation, but also to our sense of goal-setting and challenge, something that reminds us that a little hard work can bring us that keister-kicking attitude we've always craved and get high on when we hit the gym. To that end, we collected our own gallery, which focuses on the lady superstars in their down and dirty moments - the ones where they don't just *look* hot, but actually *get* hot. These selections are all about the sneakers and sports bras. ...Ok, I think one pair of stilettos snuck in (how did that happen? *innocent face*). If it involved sweat, boxing gloves, taping up, stretching out or pumping iron, we snagged it, including a couple of TapOut 'shoot shots from Charlotte and Alicia (and, um...are there any mooooore of those, Mr. Styles?). We even scrounged up a shot from the Silver Snap Award winning buddy 'shoot from Natalya and Beth Phoenix from a couple years ago. Remember that one? So much love for that simple, fab set!
May was a sweet month for WWE fashion! Among other notable events, we saw Natalya give the hot and trendy choker a try, paired with this zip-front top. It Chokers work fabulously with lower necklines, like this deep-v. Nattie accented it with hoop earrings for a touch of shine.
I'm always on the lookout for new divas (oopps...superstars!) who bring a sense of fashion to the ring. This gear from Peyton Royce caught my eye, due both to the design and the unusual color combination. Mint with plum is a unique pairing and I love the way the two cool tones complement each other. The mint gets a wonderful zing from the fruity purple shade - it looks good enough to eat! :) The cross-body piece is also a fun choice of design. It's practical, but not common. The textural accents add dimension and sprinkle the extra color throughout the look, while the sheer insets add another layer of intrigue. This is quite an intricate gear set for a lady who isn't yet on the main roster, making me think Peyton is definitely one to keep an eye on as far as fashion goes! Stephanie took her turn at the menswear-esque suiting look, pairing a powerful blazer with leather skinny pants. Like Renee's ivory WrestleMania suit, this jacket creates an instant impression. Note, though, how much higher the stance is on Steph's jacket, creating an empire waist. The similar long cut with the different higher stance keep Steph's look a touch boxier, but equally strong and confident. Pairing it with leather brings even more edge, but that is softened just enough by her white shirt and half up-do. Her pendant enhances the v-neckline of her blouse and helps balance the look. This pairing is much riskier than many that we've seen on Steph. I love seeing her step outside her comfort zone with her fashion and the boldness of this outfit works really well, in addition to suiting her on-camera persona. This gear from Charlotte reprises the design of WrestleMania gear, but switches the colors. Instead of blue accented with silver, it's a study in black, with the blue retained as just an accent color. The design is still attractive and the center floral stars are just mesmerizing, but I find the black a tad dull after the glorious blue as a main shade. I wonder if a stronger accent color, or something more surprising - like a holograph material- wouldn't have worked a little better for a darker statement look. Eva Marie attended the Bellami Hair red carpet event along with Maryse. Eva glowed in a sequined suit. Going cami-free works for a formal night event and I love the way her polished, slick ponytail added a more refined vibe to her look. She added a spark of color with red, suede ankle straps sandals - love those shoes! And the extra color is a nice way to throw a twist into this look, which could easily have been an expected black monochrome ensemble. One fabulous thing about WrestleMania is that we get GEAR...so, all of us gearheads can sleep happy for a few days :). There was a lot more floating around Wm than the couple we got to see in the photoshoot WWE released, so let's break all that down, shall we?
Alicia Fox's gear is awesome. Hands down. It's one of the simpler sets in terms of color, as she went with a black monochrome look. But that minimalist choice is a flawless choice to set against this complex, creative and mad cool design! It's a leather brassiere-style halter, but with multiple straps radiating down and outward, some flowing into bold shoulder pieces that create the effect of a cap sleeve. She added some fierce intrigue to this via a mesh underlayer that plays peekaboo beneath the brassiere and then turns into leather-trimmed sleeves. Wowza; this top is super HAWT! Leather shorts and knee boots, paired with leather knee pads) complete the look. The grunge-meets-Bad-Blood vibe is killer and I like the restraint Foxy showed in her choices. The one slight thing I might have liked would be a tiny bit of embellishment (I'm thinking a sprinkling of hardware), considering the importance of WrestleMania as an event. Overall, though, this gear is slammin'! I've been a fan of Paige's bustier+ shorts combo for a long time and she has rocked some jaw-dropping gear at WM. This year, though, felt kind of "meh". I'm not often a huge fan of camo and this gear did little to encourage me to reverse that opinion. The stud accents should have given it a big kick, but they get somewhat lost in the camo pattern (closer pic below). I think they might actually have stood out better against solid black fabric. I wouldn't mind seeing an upgrade to the fishnets/knee socks/army boots too. They don't improve this look, which is a shame, because the right combo could and should. Oh well. Some gears slay and some gears just lay and we just gotta roll with it. Still love ya, Paige! Eva's crossed halter and shorts combo is essentially her trademark gear. The cool thing about this is the red-over-nude lace she chose as a fabric. It looks fab and it's cray sexy, as is her wont. It's a wonderful canvas for a gear. Since this is Wrestlemania, though, it's a perfect time to surprise and delight us with some kind of tweak or twist or curveball. I wish she had made an additional attempt to make this ensemble a bit more special. The same could be said for Brie, although it's more understandable in her case, since this was her final match. There's a practicality to looking good, without expending an insane amount of effort on something you won't wear for years...or ever again. And Brie did rock some serious fabulosity with her make-up. She and her teams went all out there; I couldn't resist including a close-up. How crave-worthy and glam is that eyeshadow?! I respect Brie's choice here; it was a smart play, even though we could possibly wish her last gear was something mesmerizing. This is a hallmark example of Bella style...and that's just how I want to remember Brie. WWE made a final hail and farewell gesture to the vintage Women's Title with this retro styled photoshoot featuring a number of the divas posing with the original belt. It's a fun look back at a tough, rough-hewn piece of leather with a storied history. One important note: the background for this 'shoot is kind of fantabulous :). It's this gray-green moldering wall that makes me think of the Slytherin common room. Wicked cool. (Pun intended ;)
Stephanie looked haughty and gorgeous while carrying the belt in this studded-shoulder sweater in a fab shade of graphite. Blue jeans and a few baubles completed her haute-rocker look. Sasha repped her Legit Boss tee for the shoot. It matches the old belt quite nicely. Come to think of it, it wouldn't look bad with the new one either ;). She injected a pop of color with these bright sky skinny pants, which made a nice departure from the ring gear many of the ladies chose. One of said ladies was Natalya, who gave us a close-up of this pink-piped sheer inset bodysuit ensemble, which is among the sexiest incarnations of her in-ring look yet! This piece gives me sexy superhero vibes - can't you just imagine Natty dodging lasers and driving a convertible amphibious plane? |
