I love this style idea from Mandy, but it's a bit ..well, daring..for common usage. No worries though - we can definitely appropriate the good stuff, do our own bit of hocus pocus and stir up some style magic fit for a non-diva! Start with the skirt. Almost any denim variation will work: maxi (a side slit is super trendy), midi (I love this chic option, especially in a flared/A-line silhouette) or pencil (stay pretty close to knee length or a touch above, fraying optional :)). So, pick your passion and go from there. Next, grab your favorite burgundy flannel (or non-flannel plaid for warmer days). Feel free to knot said shirt a la Mandy, or go with a full tuck for a pulled-together feel. Another option which carries the color theme is layering a cropped burgundy sweater over a blue button-down. Leave the shirt un-tucked and use the cropped sweater silhouette to create the visual waist. From there, it's all about the boots, babes! While Mandy's wine-toned ones are crazy fun (and by all means, do those if ya got some!), black tends to be a little easier to come by in most closets :). Fortunately, that's just ducky for pairing with this cool-hued color story. Take your cue from your skirt choice: if you're doing the midi thing, pair it with chunky-heeled knee boots in suede to bring out a trendy 70's vibe. If you chose a knee-length pencil skirt, reach for ankle booties. Pointy-toed stilettos will you give an urban chic feel. Alternatively, play on the flannel's 90's grunge attitude by choosing chunky-heeled combat boots. When going the maxi route - especially when it possesses a super trendy side slit - finish the look with OTKs. The subtle seductiveness of allowing the slit to reveal fierce over-the-knee leather is seriously hot! Showing a hint of knee via knee boots is a fabulous alternative as well. I hope this inspires you to try doing the whole "boots, meet skirt" look sometime soon! Happy styling!

Becky gave us her version of the patterned pants look and, like previous attemptees Maryse and Carmella, her effort comes off well because she kept the pieces around it simple. Unlike those ladies, she went with white instead of black, done in her trademark peplum silhouette. I like the way choosing a lighter neutral brightens this whole ensemble and the luxe texture of her suede OTKs completes it nicely. Becky's been racking up a string of successful looks lately and this is one more in the streak. On my wishlist is to see her bring a top other than a peplum or floaty tank into her mix of spot-on styles.
Alexa's combination immediately caught my eye due to her use of a blazer! I'm a massive fan of them, but we don't see a whole lot of experimentation with the silhouette from the WWE ladies. Biker jackets, leather jackets, fur jackets, denim jackets - those we see a good number of , but it still is a special few who venture into the realm of the blazer with any consistency. What's especially fun about this is that Blissy uses it to add maturity and confidence to a casual urban look. She pairs a graphic tank with leggings and leather knee boots - from this point, the outfit has the makings of a LayCool classic, particularly with that fabulous bold statement necklace crowning it! But Alexa takes it firmly in her own direction via the distinctly un-LayCool-like blazer. I love the way this classic black jacket balances out the chill, streetwise vibe with a chic, confident punch. It works especially well against the effervescence of her pink-edged pigtails :) Next up is a whole series of looks from Eva Marie, all from her NEM fashion line. When she posted these on Instagram, she asked fans to name their favorite and this green jumpsuit is high on my list. This silk-like charmeuse fabric can be tricky to wear because of its drape-y-ness and the way it reflects light, but the way this garment is styled helps to mitigate that - the gathered and defined waist and central ruching make it quite forgiving and the tapered leg gives it a chic, trendy flair. This entrancing, mystical green shade is fantastic as well. Eva finishes it flawlessly with nude pointy pumps. This fab effort s followed by a simple LBD, with refreshingly modest silhouette. The trick to a jersey fabric like this is to get something that has the right balance of drape and thickness, so that it kisses curves without clinging. The best way to evaluate that is to have the piece at hand and be able to at least touch it, if not try it on. Fierce peeptoe booties add a flawless pop to this simple look. This white mini dress is also among my favorites - it makes the most of Eva's curves and seems to be just long enough to look proper. Her pointy pumps are back in action to complete this outfit. Well this sure was a departure for Michelle! She’s never been one to do a whole lot of print, but she went hard for it here. The pic doesn’t let us see if this stylized floral pattern is set on a top or a dress, but either way, it’s a surprise! The colors in this piece caught me off-guard as well: mustard, rich olive – these are not shades we usually see Michi gravitate toward. But they work really well with her skin tone and I’m always on board for when the ladies try new things, so I’m in for this look! – especially because a) this halter silhouette is amazeballs on her and b) she “took” my advice ;) and swapped her braids for this chic bun. A pair of her trademark bangles adds a hint of flash.
While the whole world has been obsessing over burgundy suede OTKs, Lana did her own trendsetting thing and went for navy suede ones. They have all the unexpectedness and luxurious feel of the burgundy, but with a cooler vibe, which works wonderfully with her denim topper. I love the interplay of casual denim with this sleek ivory bodycon, although I would be happier with a different silhouette. A cropped jacket would have a similar feel to this oversized, distressed coat, while being a touch more harmonious. Then again, it wouldn’t have the same quirk factor, so there is that to be considered ;). Her next offering –a similar twist on laidback luxury- works even better. Her pairing of cutoff denim shorts with a tank that announces that she is “Fierce”, caramel OTKs and an absolutely fabulous ivory faux fur coat benefits from a carelessly-filthy-rich rocker vibe (rocker anything is a growing trend for 2017). I can see a modern-day urban Stevie Nicks slaying a look like this. And I’m pretty sure Lana could sell out stadiums just as easily ;). Speaking of that whole burgundy OTK happening, Mandy has been one of WWE’s foremost proponents of said boots. We’ve seen her do them with jeans quite often, but here, she pairs them with a denim pencil skirt and reinforces the color with a gorgeous plaid button-down. I love the shades and texture in this outfit and would recreate it in a heartbeat, with one caveat: Mandy often chooses to push the sexy side of her looks to the edge. That works fantastically for WWE, but in the everyday world, it comes off closer to the trashtastic line than I would generally recommend. To make this look more user-friendly, stay with a just-above-the-knee pencil skirt; as long as you have two inches of skin between the top of your boot and the bottom of your skirt, the proportion will work. Alternatively, you could opt for knee-length denim, perhaps with a classy-height side slit to show off those glorious OTK’s a bit more ;). We haven’t had many looks from Natalya pop up on fashion radar lately, so this stunner is a welcome addition! It’s exactly what I’d expect from Natalya: current, classy and incredibly chic! Her sheer-inset midi sheath dress (by Elizabeth and James) has the effect of modernist art, with her curves as the canvas. She topped the dress with a ruffled biker jacket from Alexander McQueen, a magnificent piece that’s a crave-worthy combination of frills and attitude. Its complex aesthetic works brilliantly over the clean-lined minimalism of the dress. She finished the look with simple black leather Stuart Weitzman boots. A black monochrome palette united the ensemble, while Nattie injected a playful, vivacious vibe with her half up-do and candy pink lips. As promised, a closer look at Steph's outfit is at the far right. This pic really shows off how well it's put together!
I'm completely loving this outfit from Mandy as well! She pairs a white cropped turtleneck with blue jeans, gives it a touch of flash with her Hermes belt and then makes it totally winter appropriate with her faux fur vest. The lightness of this still-wintry color palette, as well as the casual glamour of the styling makes it an instant hit with me! Her make-up is soft and natural and creates a girl-next-door vibe and her high ponytail is super-cute! That's one of my favorite placements for a pony - it's polished, fun and sp pretty! Michelle may not be wrestling any more, but she's clearly kept abreast of fashion trends in a way that would be totally LayCool-approved! She pairs black leggings, which were a fave of hers throughout that era with a slouchy olive sweater, draped off of one shoulder for a sexy vibe. She added an of-the-moment choker to keep the look trendy and finished it with her Louis Vuitton Seduction boots that took the Divas' Fashion Universe by storm back in 2010 when she debuted them. They're proof now that a classic never goes out of style and the zippered details (which allow the boots to switch betwen ankle, knee and OTK height) add a distinctive edgy fierceness to this casually trendy look. The only thing on my wish list is that Michelle ease up on the braids a tad; they're pretty, but in this case look the tiniest bit harsh ..and she's been doing variations of them almost nonstop since April. Maria was also feeling the casual feels in this October snap, where she paired a simple black tee with gray distressed denim. I'm a fan of the unique color choice of her jeans; it makes a fun change-up! She layered a multi-striped shirt over tee for warmth and an unusual way to play with both color and proportion (love that!) and then topped the look with a black leather biker jacket. Finally, she added a big pop of color with red ankle boots! The whole theory of this outfit completely works for me. In practice, I might have leaned toward a solid red, red stripe or red plaid shirt to infuse the color throughout the outfit. But the basic principles work perfectly. (And PS, you could mellow out the drama a touch by going with black boots, if you wanted to create the look without the boldness of red footwear.) If you’re needing a bikini fix here in the middle of the cold and snow, the ladies of WWE have been happy to oblige! Emma was smoldering in this strappy white number with its chevron front. The poolside setting did nothing but enhance the pristine beauty of her pose. Her dark nail brought a touch of edge to the shot which added a nice balance to the overall softness of the styling. This glamorous new Emma is totally gorge!
Mandy took a different approach to her equally summer-y shot. Her sun-kissed-beach setting was brightened by this neon bikini in a stunning shade of orange, popped with lime trim. I love bright colors for bikinis; this is exactly the kind of color combo I’d gravitate to. Consequently, I love it on Mandy. We’ve seen on Summer what an amazing color orange is for blondes and Mandy reinforces the conclusion. With her sunnies and sexy stance, she nails “beach babe”! On a more muted note was Lana’s warm sage choice. While the top is fairly standard, there seems to be a fun sheer detail at her hips, which adds an intriguing touch to a set that otherwise is unusual only for its color. I love how Lana went with bronzy, earth tones for her make-up palette; they complement the shade of her suit so well! Her hair is beautiful here as well – long and loose, with hints of salt-born waves, and pulled back just enough to stay out of her eyes when the wind blows. It’s beach flawless! The background of this snap – a retreating cavern that adds wonderful depth – is a highlight as well! She switches from intense, styled sexy to casual, breezy girl-next-door beauty with this make-up free snap. There, she paired a striped string top with simple navy bottoms. The look is breezy, classic and the shot feels laidback and “in the moment”. It’s an about face from her previous shot, but Lana looks just as stunning! The flawless fashion was still raging strong as September came to a close. Lana slayed at Olia Zavozina's birthday party in a being knit dress which she paired with patent leather mid-calf boots. She tossed a classic biker jacket over her shoulders, added a choker necklace and, lastly, topped the whole look with a porkpie hat. The porkpie has long been a men's staple piece, but has become a favorite of women as well during the last few decades. It has acquired a definite hipster quality and lends an avant garde vibe to modern looks - as demonstrated here. I love how it gives a quirky twist to Lana's modern pairing. Actually, I love this whole outfit; it's stellar!
Jojo has been wearing a complete catalogue of great dresses lately, but this cherry red wrap piece is a standout! Even though the silhouette is simple, the color gives it a huge pop. My favorite part of her look though is - you guessed it ;) - those shoes! Pumps with lace-up straps and cuff details? I am SO in! What a great choice from Jojo! We also have more looks from the Bellas' promotion efforts for Total Bellas, including this snake-print maxi dress from Brie. A strident print like this is something of a departure for her and, while it's not my favorite, she gets huge props from me for trying something new. The choker looks fab with this v-neckline and her nude-meets-cinnamon make-up palette looks completely gorgeous on her! It seems to me that, if you have a love of fashion, you have a beast inside - a kind of style spirit animal (or animals) whose aura you tap into when you go to your fierce place. So what if, instead of using that spirit as inspiration, you let it out to play? What if you actually became the beast? This Halloween, we're going to explore exactly that through the Divas and KO's and the animal instincts they conjure up for us. We're going to seek the fierce in it's raw form - complete with fur and claws and blazing eyes! - and let it run wild for a night, with us inside instead of the other way around. The true uncharted territory, the real safari, the forest where these creatures roam is a place we can all travel to - if we dare! Come with us and seek the beast within!
