I love a lot about this look from Mickie! I love that it feels like her, channeling her glam side. I love that it reminds me of something LayCool would wear. I love the irony of Mickie rocking a LayCool look – she’s a long way from Piggy James, babes! The crystal belt gives this ensemble the Western vibe we often see Mickie dabble in, but the pinstriped vest throws in a slightly masculine and very polished curveball that give the pairing a kind of throwback cool. Her pin-straight hair was a perfect choice, bringing sleekness and modernity to the look. She completed it with OTKs in suede – hard to go wrong with that extra shot of fierce!
I’m also digging this look from Natalya. It’s the kind of classicism we’d expect from her in terms of this gorgeous LBD, but that sweetheart neckline? Bring me a fan -that’s hot! Her beauty look is perfection as well. Her shimmery eyes and mauve lip feel uncontrived and look stunning! Nattie’s big glam tv looks are amazing, but I also enjoy seeing her do softer stylings, like this one that seem like something she would wear when she’s not working, just being her gorgeous self. LBD’s were having a moment for her, as she wore another in a midi length during her tour of China. The minimalist aesthetic rules, as she accents it with black pointy pumps, a Louis Vuitton bag, oversize sunnies and nothing else. It’s edited, subtle and oh so chic! Although, I almost missed it because I was totally focusing on what has to e the cutest dragon I have ever seen. That yellow fuzzball is totes adorable and I want one! Yes, I realize it’s someone in a costume. I’m not interested in the someone, but the costume? I want to stick that in a corner of my room and hug it for about a hundred years.

Aaaaaand, iiiiiiit’s tiiiiiiiiime! We are about to unveil the photoshoots that won our stylish hearts this year. And YOU get to award the one best ‘shoot the honor of the Silver Snap. Are you ready?
First, a few quid pro quo: this year was especially difficult as it suffered from a dearth of photoshoots from both promotions. Also, both companies leaned toward gallery-type snaps where a number of ladies got individual sets all at once. Consequently, I decided to count each lady’s set as an individual ‘shoot. From there, I whittled down and split hairs and compared and contrasted and evaluated and… you get the picture. In the interests of full disclosure, since diva-fierce is a fashion site and we are all about the fashion, there is a slight bias around these parts towards fashion-type ‘shoots, so I tended to weight those a little higher than less style-inclined snaps. Ok…the lawyers can go off retainer now. Let’s get to the good stuff… Get ready, loves! It’s that time of year again: Silver Snap time! Every year, it is our tradition at Diva-Fierce to collaborate with all of you to choose the ONE very best photoshoot of the year from the Divas and the Knockouts and award them our Silver Snaps. This year’s polls will be up a little later this week. In the meantime, enjoy an hors d’oeurve: our Honorable Mentions for 2017, both from the Divas’ (ok, ok, Superstars…but they’re still DIVAS to us!) offerings.
Nikki sent our raves and craves into overdrive and had us re-writing our 2018 #SquadGoals with her rendition of this photo gallery of New York city night life in the Chinatown Squad photoshoot. This set is everything a fashion ‘shoot should be: jaw-dropping outfit, killer poses, fabulous background. The dark, glamorous energy of New York sets the perfect stage for Nikki’s subtly sparkling blush bodysuit and curve-kissing pencil skirt. Her embellished waist belt stole my heart, while silver accessories in the form of a ruffled clutch and ankle-cuff sandals completed the look with just the right amount of shine. I was (still am!) wild over how Nikki incorporated so many trends (blush, metallics, ankle straps, bodysuits, waist belts), while still creating a classic and sophisticated look. The styling felt both luxurious and a bit dangerous, contrasting with the downtown vibe of the backdrop, even as the color palette harmonized perfectly. Nikki slayed pose after poised, self-assured pose, giving the impression that the big, tough city is just her plaything. The images in this incredible ‘shoot are the kind that haunt our dreams …inspiration boards! Also earning a shoutout is Becky’s impressive work in the High Oct(K)ane gallery, where her chosen outfit combined the high drama we’d expect from an editorial ‘shoot with the accessibility we’d see from a streetwear set. In echoing Kane’s nightmarish stylings via spike bracelets and a chain belt, she touched on the incoming punk trend, which worked brilliantly, feeling both appropriate and relevant. She also nailed her poses, including the historically challenging squat, cementing her place on this year’s list of top photoshoots. Kudos, Becks – we’re lovin’ it over here! You can also check out the previous nominees and winners here and most recent nominees and winners here. Brie and Nikki attended the Teen Choice Awards in mid-August sporting similar, but not the same, maxi slip dresses. I always love when they do this kind of look that coordinates, but also lets each of them reveal their individuality. Nikki’s nude dress is from Alice and Olivia. She added a wide dark choker and completed the look with pale nude heels. Despite the leg-lengthening effect of the nude, I think I might have preferred black strappy heels here to tie in with her necklace. Brie’s dress and black platform ankle strap heels are from Planet Blue. I love the steel gray shade of this piece! It has the sophistication of black without being black and it feels more unique. I also love the way she combined a black choker with a gold pendant for a layered jewelry look. It adds interest to the minimalist dress and a welcome hint of shine. The twins’ next event was at the Curve Expo, promoting BirdeeBee. Nikki paired a black tee with white split-leg pants. This is the 100% right away to do the split leg! By stopping at mid-calf, the split is intriguing without being ridiculous and it’s appropriate for a promotional event such as this. She finished the look with the Planet Blue sandals worn by Brie to the Kids’ Choice Awards. I often find the center-parted hairstyle harsh, but I really love the way it looks here on Nikki – sleek and fierce! Brie chose a black, wide-leg jumpsuit for the event. It’s not ground-breaking, but it is polished and professional. She wisely added a dose of drama with her studded sandals and the whole look is quietly chic.
I don’t usually go wild over sunglasses, but these metallic-tipped cat-eye shades from Fendi that Nikki is wearing are just too cool not to call out! Add a red lip, red nails and red wine…what else does a fashionable girl need? :) Summer was channeling her inner Carmella in this Insta-snap with buddy Stella Kae. She paired a leopard print dress from Show Me Your Mumu with black combat boots. This whole look has an untamed, derriere-kicking attitude to it which is super fun! I’m a huge fan of her leather newsboy cap as well – it just ladles on extra attitude! She’s also selling me on that lip purse – something I would never dream of actually owning , but I love the kick of red it adds to this look. So, when are these two ladies starting a fashion blog? They say all good things must come to an end, and our Fearless Nikki Bella was sadly eliminated from the Dancing With The Stars on Monday night. We're definitely shocked along side Nikki and Artem, as last week they had 9's across the board and their fan base had been so strong with the votes. But now, we're going to look back at the last few weeks of the competition and review how Nikki wow'd us with her fashion.
Brie: Nikki and Artem’s dance to “Remember Me” from Coco during Disney week captures the Latin theme of the film perfectly. This flowing ruffled dress with its sexy, shoulder-baring silhouette is a style Nikki is very comfortable with, as anyone familiar with many of her early WWE photoshoots can attest. With a theme that’s this much in hr wheelhouse, I was expecting her to nail it from top to bottom and I wasn’t disappointed! I loved seeing this gorgeous turquoise shade on her! It’s not one we often see her try out, but it’s stunning and threw an unexpected twist into a familiar theme.. Her up-do and the perfectly-placed flowers were flawlessly chosen. Of course, there’s a touch of Nikki’s trademark glamour in the metallic touches on the ruffles, the gold belt and glittering bangle, all of which helps to give the look a subtle formality that’s suitable for a performance such as this. I’m of two mind about the red eye-shadow. I can feel that it makes everyone look red-eyed, as if they had been crying, unless it’s done in a very particular way. Then again, it changes the way Nikki’s a face looks and that’s quite captivating and works especially well for this dance. I don’t know if I’d want to see her wear it every day, but as a change and for this type of theme, I think I could get sold on it :). After all the months of waiting, BirdieBee is finally here, open and ready to be shopped! Woot woot! First and foremost, congratulations to Brie and Nikki on reaching this milestone. They’ve put a lot of time, energy and thought into this, so it’s wonderful to see it come to fruition. Next, this is not everything they intend to offer. Think of it as a capsule collection. Lots of new items are still coming in and extended sizes will be debuting early next year. I like that they opened with a variety of different items: tees, sweaters and activewear, in addition to the intimates that seemed to be the original focus of the line. They also get props for awareness of fabrics: the workout gear is done in quick-drying nylon blend, while the intimates are in a fabulously soft modal-cotton combo. There are a couple of basics, but most of the clothing is sprinkled with inspirational quotes or graphics. My favorite is the “You literally can even” sweater :). These are collectible pieces, intended to be bought as functional outfit-highlight pieces. Don’t be expecting 2/$10 tees that you can get spaghetti sauce all over without caring; that’s what Walmart is for. The activewear seems to be a genre that will be a brand highlight in future: the streamlined seaming on the leggings has a cool vibe and the simple bralette, which immediately set me raving, has a super-hot strappy back design and is my favorite piece of the whole collection so far. It has a very Nikki-esque vibe…and who wouldn’t want to feel like Nikki when they’re working out? ;) Props to the ladies for a solid, workman-like debut with some intriguing moments. I can’t wait to see what else they have in store (literally and figuratively ;)).
BirdieBee is available to shop right now HERE. Note: there were apparently a few web site bugs with international shipping in the launch, which have now been fixed, but if you see an issue, please let the company know (without freaking out :)) so they can fix it. I’m so excited to finally post this for all of you! It’s been in process since literally August. I plead lack of time and scope of post: this season’s “blast” is more like a ka-boom - fashion is going in so many directions right now! There are a multitude of subtexts underlying a few dominant themes.
