Velvet has been releasing a bunch of new pics to RatedV.net. It looks like some of these are sold out at the moment…but we’re going to review them anyway because FASHION :). Looking at these made me smile because they are trademark Velvet: gorgeous, sexy, fun. First up is a straightforward workout gear snap. I love how the pink piping ties these two seemingly disparate pieces together. Velvet completes the pink pop by adding a candy-hued lip. I also love the bright blue background – it sets off Velvet and her outfit perfectly. This is the kind of snap I’d pin up to remind myself to get my derriere to the gym! –it makes working out look so affirming and joyous! Next up is probably may favorite of all the new snaps. Velvet pairs a tied black “Queen” (but, of course, dahling!) tee with a denim mini skirt and rounds out the outfit with black OTK boots. This is one of those classic, spot-on pairings that just slays. It has that breezy girl-next-door grunge-fierce vibe that always gets me. Vel’s pink lip works flawlessly again here. She takes things in a more formal direction with her next snaps, a blue bodycon dress in a mesmerizing shade of bright blue. She added a bold silver choker and a cerise lip that pops beautifully against the blue. This looking-over-her-shoulder pose is stunning too! We don’t get to see her shoes, but I’m imagining silver heels. Finally, she leaves us in no doubt as to her mood with her next look, a pairing of a white tee labeled “savage” and one of her trademark ruffled mini skirts. I love how her sexy, radiant pose and expression contrasts with her shirt’s message; it conveys such a fun duality!
Angelina also took her turn with a workout snap, pairing a camo crop top with black low-waisted shorts. Angie looks amazing as usual – the warm strawberry tones in her hair are gorgeous! As I would expect of a TBP alumnus, she nails her pose as well. Now, if we could just get these ladies together in one snap, that would be some seeeeeerious gym motivation! :)

With Halloween fast approaching, here's look back at a fun little feature we did four years ago: a somewhat tongue-in-cheek guide to becoming a Superstar or Knockout for Halloween. I had a blast doing this piece...so much so that I'll be reprising it this year. Look for that to kick off in the next week :)
Halloween is fast approaching so it’s definitely time to start putting together costumes and ideas! This year, I was inspired by Lana’s Dark Carnival look from last year. It got me wondering how many other photoshoots might be perfect points of departure for that special costume. I did some time-travelling and it turns out there are a fair few that got my creative juices simmering.
Soooooo believe it or not, this is the last of the Catch-ups. I'm sort of in shock myself..kinda felt like I'd never get through it all :).
Nikki kicks off the ending with a bright royal blue iteration of the Self Portrait lace dress we've previously seen her wear in white. I like the piece just as much in this shade! The gorgeous lace is feminine and lighthearted, perfect as a sundress when styled with neutral wedge sandals, as Nikki as here, or as a fancier piece when done with pointy pumps or more formal sandals, as we've seen her do in the past. Next up is a super-cute pairing that infuses the best of now with some trademark Nikki stylings. She paired a sleeveless lace peplum blouse with a modern-vintage aesthetic with black skinny jeans. The black ribbon at her neck makes a fun way to connect her top and pants. While Nikki has used it like a necklace, with a loose knot, it could also be done in a bow to up the throwback vibe. Red pointy pumps add that dash of Nikki-esque spice and really pop the look. I wouldn't have minded seeing her carry that color upward with a bright lip. This polka dotted mermaid midi skirt gave me immediate #tbt vibes to the Bella's late 2013 50's pin-up era withere they were all about the high waists, polka dots and hair scarf bows. Nikki keeps the look a little more polished here, pairing the skirt with a simple black scoopneck top and a slim gold choker. A burgundy and gold chain-strap purse adds a bit of modern attitude and brings in her trademark shot of red. She continues her black-and-white streak by pairing this minimalist ruffled sheath with simple black ankle-strap heels and a black tote for Bridal Fashion Week. I love the pristine, edited feeling of this look - it acts as a palate-cleanser after all the lace, pleats and other embellishments we've seen lately. Sometimes, the plainest ensemble has the strongest impact! Her trusty Prada boots are back in evidence with yet another look, this time a super-chill long-sleeved sheath dress from Veronica Beard. The bold presence of the ankle boots injects some attitude into this relaxed look. I'm still loving the chain handle on her bag, although I would have loved if she's gone for a chocolate, nude or mixed-browns hued one to tie in with her shoes. Velvet is back with some new shots from her pink electrical tape 'shoot - this time with a fun addition! I remember when the Knockouts first gave the tape-as-clothing idea a try - I loved the creativity of it and still do! Velvet has done a couple of variations on the theme since (I think the white-tape Samurai has been my fave ...so far :))and this pink version is soft and dreamy, albeit smoking hot! She skips the patterning of some of her early explorations and goes with simple and practical; I suppose we could this minimalism at its finest ;). She also gets props for not taking her pink gloves too seriously - she goes for flirty, tempting and innocent and succeeds beautifully!
She also has a pre-Valentine's Day offering which bring an intriguing goth element to her repertoire. She pairs a leather corset with red skull-print fabric accents and grommet details with a fringed skirt. Dark fantasy has been ruling the runways so I looove seeing Velvet go here and work with this concept. I could have gotten behind a pair of lace-up pointed booties to enhance that theme, but these tiger-ish print pumps throw a dash of the un-tamed into this zipped-in and buckled-up fashion. We haven't seen Vel do chair poses in awhile, so it's fab to see the return of that prop. It's an amazing way to show off her killer legs! All these pics are available at her Rated V online store..so show off your killer fingers, head over there and get you some :) As promised, a closer look at Steph's outfit is at the far right. This pic really shows off how well it's put together!
I'm completely loving this outfit from Mandy as well! She pairs a white cropped turtleneck with blue jeans, gives it a touch of flash with her Hermes belt and then makes it totally winter appropriate with her faux fur vest. The lightness of this still-wintry color palette, as well as the casual glamour of the styling makes it an instant hit with me! Her make-up is soft and natural and creates a girl-next-door vibe and her high ponytail is super-cute! That's one of my favorite placements for a pony - it's polished, fun and sp pretty! Michelle may not be wrestling any more, but she's clearly kept abreast of fashion trends in a way that would be totally LayCool-approved! She pairs black leggings, which were a fave of hers throughout that era with a slouchy olive sweater, draped off of one shoulder for a sexy vibe. She added an of-the-moment choker to keep the look trendy and finished it with her Louis Vuitton Seduction boots that took the Divas' Fashion Universe by storm back in 2010 when she debuted them. They're proof now that a classic never goes out of style and the zippered details (which allow the boots to switch betwen ankle, knee and OTK height) add a distinctive edgy fierceness to this casually trendy look. The only thing on my wish list is that Michelle ease up on the braids a tad; they're pretty, but in this case look the tiniest bit harsh ..and she's been doing variations of them almost nonstop since April. Maria was also feeling the casual feels in this October snap, where she paired a simple black tee with gray distressed denim. I'm a fan of the unique color choice of her jeans; it makes a fun change-up! She layered a multi-striped shirt over tee for warmth and an unusual way to play with both color and proportion (love that!) and then topped the look with a black leather biker jacket. Finally, she added a big pop of color with red ankle boots! The whole theory of this outfit completely works for me. In practice, I might have leaned toward a solid red, red stripe or red plaid shirt to infuse the color throughout the outfit. But the basic principles work perfectly. (And PS, you could mellow out the drama a touch by going with black boots, if you wanted to create the look without the boldness of red footwear.) Ogh..I get so nostalgic going through all these collages! I really can't believe we've had all these amazing years of Diva-Fierce and fashion and awards and memories. All the feels, loves, all the feels!
Since we've moved to the new hosting site, I've been trying to keep the history of Diva-Fierce alive and recorded for newbies to catch up on and goldies to take a hop, skip and a trip down memory lane with. I don't know who here at the site came up with the original concept of the Ring Gear Awards, but it was -and is!- an amazing fit with our nexus of wrestling and fashion; gear is the couture of the ring! And we're the only site to consistently, year after year, give great gear the call-outs and podium placings it so richly deserves, which makes the RGAs a very special and unique part of the Diva-Fierce lexicon. So, let's strap in and take a look ...all the way back to the first days of fierce when we were just a cute, tiny, fledgling website with nothing to our name but passion and a dream :) |
Welcome to the place where wrestling & fashion join hands. Inspiration. Reviews. Musings. Retros. FASHION. Covering and craving gear to gowns since 2011. May the Fierce be with you! ;) Peace & Glitter!
