One perk of Velvet having a bit more free time is that she is able to give us a veritable flood of new pics, available at her RatedV.net site. If you remember me mentioning Vel in her Calvins, here's the snap. For real, shove over Kate Moss, right? Can you not see that shot on an NYC billboard? Although, putting V on a billboard would probably be dangerous ..cause too many traffic accidents from distracted driving. Like insurance rates need to be any higher. So, maybe just go buy the pic at RatedV. Think of it as helping to keep the planet safe ;). While you're there, you can also check out this punk-rocker girl shot, which includes a classic denim vest topping a killer studded bra. That piece is so crazy cool I can't even! Vel pairs that same skirt with her referee top for a fighting shot, which she totally nails, facial expression and all! I love the extra pop of color form her hair and her deep blush lipshade. Lastly,s he does a bit of modernist-sexy, pairing a lace-up, azalea-toned-lace-embellished onesie with matching thigh-highs. Strappy satin peeptoes complete this look, as Vel shoes off her amazing legs while working a chair prop. So, def make sure y'all check all those out :)

We'll be winding up WM week (finally!..rt? :)) with the fashion of the day itself and a little GearFest this week, but for now, it's all about the last vestiges of non-ring fashion before the big day.
Stephanie rocked WM 32 Media Day in this robins' egg blue sheath. The color is utterly gorgeous and couldn't be more perfect for spring! (Aside: this shade of blue is famous as the trademark color of the jewelry store, Tiffany's). The front pockets add a bit of casual modernity to this dress. Her mesh ivory sandals keep th whole look soft and light, and that's enhanced by her pastel make-up tones. Everything about this speaks of newness and a flush of youthful, spring colors. And it works flawlessly! Soft and light seems to have been on everyone's mind, as Charlotte chose this ivory sheath for her look at Media Day. She paired it with her nude Kendall + Kylie Abi pumps. I love the classic silhouette of this dress, and also the on-trend lace detailing, which keeps it ultra-current. Charlotte's simple pumps, with their unique, swooped detail, keep this chic, minimalist outfit interesting and chic. Stephanie's Hall Of Fame dress only recently came to my attention; it's this stunning tulle-fringed confection of a high-necked halter dress from Alexander McQueen. Ogh...I'm in heaven! This high-neck style generally carries a very sleek, modernist connotation, but with the graceful, fluttery embellishments, it feels feminine and light. It's an absolutely beautiful and fabulous piece, typical of Sarah Burton's flawlessly tailored romantic vision for the house of McQueen. It's such a jazz to get to see amazing pieces like this out and about on ladies whose style we adore! #ThankYouSteph Wrestlecon came to Dallas the same week as WrestleMania, so it was truly a wrestling takeover of Texas! It also brought out stars by the airplane load...which meant more fashion for us! :) Oh, darn.
Brooke showed off two outfits at Wrestlecon. The first was this wine sheath, which she paired with lace-up gladiator heels (shove over, Kendall :)). I love the warmth of the burgundy-with-caramel combo - doesn't that just sound so inviting and decadent? A lariat necklace and a pretty headband brought out the bohemian feel to this earthy color pairing. Next up was Brooke's take on the L(ong)BD, as she went with a black maxi dress, finished off with a beaded statement necklace. The look is uncomplicated, but amazing! I also commend Brooke wholeheartedly for her adorable and modest poses. I love how she's let us know about her forthcoming arrival, but doesn't make her belly the center of attention. It's refreshing and beautiful to see how's she's handled this. I didn't know it was possible to respect her more than I did previously...but I do. Very best wishes, Brooke...as always! Also during WM week came NBC's Summer Press Day, which included Barbie Blank-Souray, wearing a stunning midi LBD. The color and silhouette of this sheath is ultra-classic, but the straps at the bodice create the impression of a sexy cutout, making it oh so modern! It's a perfect representation of the best of Barbie's style - chic, but with a dash of sass! She finished the look with au courant slim ankle strap sandals of the SW Nudist or SL Jane variety - flawless choice! We've seen Natalya's incredible HoF dress...but did you know she topped it with a leather jacket en route to the venue? Tres cool! Even cooler is who she ran in to: Velvet Sky, who was in town for Wrestlecon. Velvet paired this graphic print tunic with black leggings for her trademark grunge-glam look. I love the flutter sleeve on her tunic - sooo pretty! Rose pink lips and nails give the whole ensemble a bright pop. WrestleMania week is always jam-packed with fashion, so get set for reviews aplenty coming this week, including Superstars for Hope gowns, appearance fashion (including a TNA star or two!) and Wrestlemania gear.
Eva Marie completely nailed this look for her recent appearance on the Hallmark Channel's Home & Family show. This crossed-halter black jumpsuit is sexy, without being overblown. It's chic and trendy and works fabulously with Eva's cascading waves of red hair. I like the nude platform heels completing the look - they're less basic than a black pump would have been. Her dark nails bring a smidge of extra pop. Stephanie's Raw look got me like "OMG...me!" lol. Seriously, her cami+denim+blazer look is pretty much my wear-to-work go-to, especially when I'm in a time crunch, which is basically daily. This combo, although easy to put together, still packs a punch! I gravitate to pairings like blue denim with black because I'm not generally an all-black kind of girl, so I loved this match-up. I also completely second Steph's decision to finish this with fierce shoes, in this case suede peeptoe sandals. Easy polish never fails to get an extra boost from smoking hot footwear ;) Nikki and Brie were busy promoting Total Divas this last week (the first episode of the new season aired 1/19. Check it out on Tues nights on E!) and consequently, we got some rather fabulous outfits :) First, from the episode itself, we saw Brie in this cute black and white checked cut-out skater dress from Charlotte Russe (sadly, no longer available, although the brand is carrying a few similar styles), Gingham made a huge splash on the spring runways so expect to see a bit of it floating about in a month or two ;). It's such a cute, fun pattern but simple enough that it can work as a neutral too. The Bellas then cranked the fashion into high gear, with Nikki turning to current Bella-fav brand Alice & Olivia for her sequined jumpsuit - a stunner of a piece which offered a wonderful mix of trendy and glam. Nude peeptoe pumps warmed the look, while keeping it daytime-appropriate. Brie chose a metallic snake print jacquard dress from Topshop (info on both of the Bella's pieces can be found at fashionofthedivas). When you say "metallic snake", it sounds really wild and over-the-top, but this version is super pretty: soft, dreamy and beautifully feminine - with just a touch of wild heart thrown in :) Brie's silver pumps complement it flawlessly, picking up the dress's shimmery cool shades and contrasting with the glimmering warm tones.
It's been really tough to catch up with Impact 'shoots lately. They've done - quite frankly - a lousy job of making shoots easy to find and cohesive. As a result, we're getting bits and fits and starts of things. Come on, Impact: get it together already!
Suddenly popping up on the radar are these shots form the baseball shoot done last fall. We get a simple, sporty ensemble from Jade: a zip front, color-block sports bra paired with plain black shorts. I like this combo; the simplicity packs a punch. I don't mind her chunky combat boots, but I'd have looooved if she kicked the fierce up with slim-heeled booties (like these). Marti also rocks this athletic look with a black and white halter-style top and black hip-huggers. I really like the pairing of her over-the-knee socks and sneakers; it's cute and mod at the same time! She also gets props for the swinging-the-bat pose! It's fab...and I think she's the only lady to do it, at least based on what we've seen so far. Rebel also chose the over-the-knee sock look, going with a sheer-striped pair and matching them with platform heels. She completely works the flirty, flippy mini skirt and pairing it with an open-weave mesh top is one of my favorite combos of this set! It looks really fresh and trendy. Swap the platforms for leather ankle booties and add an oversized denim jacket and this look would be channeling iconic 80's Madonna...very cool! We already got a glimpse of Velvet's outfit, but here we get to see more, like all her tied skull scarves, the full effect of her fishnets...and the fact that she didn't forget her trademark pop of pink ;). Her crystal neon rose platforms are straight outta TBP. As usual, she nails the pose! I don't think an KO out there is as consistent with smashing poses as Vel. #ItsAnArt We're getting into the holiday spirit this FashionHap by starting off with a pair of burgundy looks.
Eden kicks it off with an on-trend sweater dress in a lovely, warm wine shade. This is a color I adore all winter: it's festive, flattering and looks amazing with any neutral, as well as with bright blues and true reds. Sweater dresses were 70's staples, hence they're rediscovered popularity. I give Eden props for the tights - it's a classic look we don't see much from the Divas and KOs and it makes a shorter dress much more comfortable on cooler days! We don't get a look at her shoes here, but I'm envisioning pointy-toe pumps...in suede :) This is a standout look from Charlotte: the fit-and-flare (perhaps we should now call it the fit-and-Flair silhouette? ;) ) is FLAWLESS for her and my past-top-of-the-charts fave. (Wishlist: that she'd do a version of her gear like this!!) The studs on her( super-hot-rn! leather top are tasteful and add some spice to the piece, while her deep red jeans bring a pretty flash of color. The basic theme of the ensemble is dark, but much more fun! Suede OTK boots finish her look off, making it powerful and , while the play of texture between suede and leather adds an intriguing contrast. Absolutely fabulous styling here! Jojo caught our eyes in this wonderful gray A-line dress. Her style can sometimes get too cutesy for her youthful look. This piece is simpler, a bit more mature and consequently chic, without looking at all too old for her. It's a fantastic choice! She styled simply with a bead bracelet and understated locket. Her rose-burgundy lip shade adds a soft hint of color and brings precisely the required pop. I would love a playful, fun shoe here, something Sophia Webster or Charlotte Olympia, that lets Jojo's personality shine. |
